RACE 1 – TERRY BROTHERS CARPET COURT PACE – 2040 metres

ROAD TO RECOVERY – Pre-race blood.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

DEFENCE ATTORNEY – Driver O Frisby was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which commenced to give ground over the final 400 metres to finish in tenth and last position beaten 52 metres.  Miss Frisby could give no reasonable explanation for the poor performance other than the gelding racing over the longer distance for the first time in its career may have been detrimental to its overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Approaching the 200 metres was tightened for racing room when BETTING RANER  hung in  contacting marker pegs.

CARBAGANOOSH – Post-race swab.

JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ – Approaching the 1100 metres raced roughly after contacting the sulky of BETTING RANGER who had shifted down the track when insufficiently clear.

UNCLE TONY – Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced and contacted marker pegs when trailing DEFENCE ATTORNEY who had been tightened contacting marker pegs.  Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres. 

BUSHY BEACH NZ – Leaving the 1400 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

 HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

BETTING RANGER – Driver A Bellach pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when approaching the 1100 metres has shifted his runner down the track when insufficiently clear of JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ resulting in contact being made to the inside sulky wheel and carrying a flat tyre for the remainder of the event.  Considering Mr Bellach’s guilty plea and record in relation to this rule his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days. This suspension is to commence on Sunday, 9 February 2025.  Approaching the 200 metres had a tendency to hang in tightening the running of DEFENCE ATTORNEY.

 

RACE 2 – TELESCOPE TYRES PACE – 2040 metres

PENN STATION – Pre-race blood. 

TEARIN UP THE SAND – Post-race swab.

A DUSTY DANCE – Driver M Hewitt was cautioned on his whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.

 

RACE 3 – COACHMAN HOTEL PACE – 1660 metres

WARRADERRY – Pre-race blood.  Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

VINCERO – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

POTTER – Post-race swab.

SCARLET BLING – Held up for clear racing room from the 300 metres until obtaining a run to the inside of VINCERO at the 100 metres.

 

RACE 4 – RICE PROPERTY & LIVESTOCK PACE – 1660 metres

KARINYA GILL – Pre-race blood.  Post-race swab.

BETTER SHUSH – Driver B Medlyn was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier prior to the start.

FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

WORKS FOR ME NZ – Trainer/driver A Frisby was queried on the overall performance of the mare which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten 10 metres.  Mr Frisby stated the mare was slightly disappointing.  He was of the opinion that racing on the tight half mile track proved detrimental to her overall performance when hanging in when negotiating turns.  He further added that if the mare was a able to draw a suitable front line draw and find the lead she may perform satisfactorily on the half mile tracks

 

RACE 5 – KENNARDS HIRE PACE – 1660 metres

SHEZ A WARRIOR – Post-race swab.

GET UP BETTY – Pre-race blood.  When negotiating the first turn was initially inconvenienced when shifting wider to avoid LUCKY PUNT and as a result became unbalanced and broke stride.  The mare will be given its last chance to race truly.

TULHURST ELVIS – Galloped out when the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

LUCKY PUNT – When entering the first turn had a tendency to over race and race roughly shifting out inconveniencing GET UP BETTY.  Approaching the 200 metres when shifted wider became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

ROCKNROLL RAMBO – Leaving the 200 metres was inconvenienced when shifted wider to avoid LUCKY PUNT who had broke stride.

 

RACE 6 – DEANS HYDRAULICS PACE – 1660 metres

CHASIN YOU – Raced roughly shortly after the start was affected.  Considering the gelding’s recent record it will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

CALM FRANCO – Pre-race blood.  When negotiating the first turn had a tendency to race roughly.  A warning was issued.

UNCLE SPORTY – Post-race swab.

 

RACE 7 – MEDLYNS/CASTROL PACE – 1660 metres

IM FOR LEXY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the mare has not raced since 1 September 2023.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Post-race swab.

BELLE OF BELMONT NZ – Pre-race blood.  Driver M Day Jnr was queried on the overall performance of the mare which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in eighth position beaten 22.2 metres.  He was disappointed in the overall performance when receiving some pressure from the runner to the inside at the 300 metres the mare  had a tendency to hang in losing momentum and failed to run on over the concluding stages.  Trainer D Sercombe confirmed he was disappointed in the overall performance of the mare and would look to take bloods in the coming days.

DOMUS ANGELI – Had a tendency to hang in in the latter stages of the score up then shortly after the start had a tendency to hang out.  A warning was issued.  When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid MISS WONGARBON who had broke stride.  Driver J Coney was queried on the overall performance of the filly which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten 17.4 metres.  He stated he was not overly disappointed in the filly and believed the mid-race move that was made in an attempt to race in a more forward position may have been detrimental to the filly’s overall performance.  His comments were noted. 

RINGAROSA – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when DOMUS ANGELI had shifted out. 

MISS WONGARBON – When entering the first turn became unbalanced broke stride shifting out sharply and as a result checking DOMUS ANGELI.  Leaving the 750 metres had a tendency to hang out and race roughly.  As it was the filly’s first race start MISS WONGARBON will be required to requalify on one occasion..

 

RACE 8 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1660 metres

MATTERSON EXPRESS – Leaving the 1200 metres was inconvenienced and forced to a three wide position when ALWAYS ADORNED who was leading the event raced ungenerously. 

PHANTOM STAR – Pre-race blood.  Entering the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride.  Considering the gelding’s recent record PHANTOM STAR will be given its last chance to race truly.

ALWAYS ADORNED – Leaving the 1200 metres when attempting to work forward to the lead raced ungenerously as a result MATTERSON EXPRESS was checked.  A warning was issued.
