GENERAL

Prior to Race 7, Due to significant storm activity in the immediate area, an indefinite delay was incurred. After tracking the storm activity, a decision was made to reschedule the final 3 races, and the following amended times were announced:

              Race 7 – 5.37pm

              Race 8 – 5.55pm

              Race 9 – 6.13 pm

 

RACE 1 – IRT 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

FRANCO LOU – Raced roughly in the latter stages of the score up however was in position at the start.

SOHO TRUMP – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

DAIMYO – Near the 250 metres was hampered by ONE PINEVALE HILL when that runner broke gait. Unable to secure running until passing the 150 metres.

ONE PINEVALE HILL – Passing the 250 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.

ADDICTIVE STRIDE - Passing the 700 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.

CEE ARE SEVEN – Pre-race blood sample.

SPEAKS VOLUMES – Leaving the 400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. In view of its recent record connections were advised SPEAKS VOLUMES would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.

CABIN CREW – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of CABIN CREW Trainer/Driver B McDonough explained the gelding has had some physical issues throughout its career and for that reason has been lightly raced. He added CABIN CREW needs to be managed and he may review the gelding’s racing future in light of todays performance. B McDonough was advised CABIN CREW would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.

FLASH KYVALLEY – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.

G O A T USA – Post-race swab sample.

MILITARY MERIT – Out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – BE HAPPY MACH @ WINGATE FARM TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

SALUTE STRIDE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – APIAM AGNES BANKS EQUINE DENTISTRY LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

OZZIE JOYBELL – Pre-race blood sample. In the latter stages of the first score up broke gait resulting in Driver C Hart raising his left hand signifying an issue that required a false start. A false start was declared. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that in the early stage of the score up, OZZIE JOYBELL was hampered by CHARLIES ACE NZ when that runner was down the track, however OZZIE JOYBELL paced throughout the next 100 metres of the score up and filled its position without issue. Then, in the latter stages of the score up, the mare got its head up and when the hopple shorteners were released, the mare broke gait. Driver C Hart pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 162(1)(d) for delaying the start unnecessarily by putting his hand up for a false start when he did not have a valid reason to do so. C Hart was fined the sum of $200.

WEAREALLALONE - As a result of the false start and delay WEAREALLALONE became fractious and took charge of Driver C McDowell for approximately 1200 metres. Subsequently, WEAREALLALONE was declared a late scratching at 2.45pm on veterinary advice.

SKY MARY MAC NZ – Passing the 300 metres raced roughly.

RACE 5 – HYLAND HARNESS FULL SUITS PACE – 1609 metres

CONSIDER IT DONE – Passing the 400 metres had to be steadied and shifted in to avoid TWO SAINTS which broke gait. Post-race swab sample.

CARIBBEAN RUNA – Leaving the 400 metres was checked and locked wheels with TWO SAINTS which broke gait. Shortly after, after disengaging and continuing toward the 300 metres, CARIBBEAN RUNA shifted out marginally at the same time AERODYNE GUY laid in and subsequently CARIBBEAN RUNA and AERODYNE GUY locked wheels  both runners were hampered.

AERODYNE GUY – Near the 350 metres checked away from CARIBBEAN RUNA. Approaching the 300 metres laid in at the same time as CARIBBEAN RUNA shifted out and subsequently locked wheels and was hampered.

TWO SAINTS – Pre-race blood sample. Near the 400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait, shifted out and locked wheels with CARIBBEAN RUNA. Connections were advised TWO SAINTS would be stood down from racing until it completes one satisfactory official trial.

WILLS WAY – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

WAT EVER YOU NEED – Out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 6 – PRYDE’S STAMINA PACE – 1609 metres

LUKE JOHN NZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of LUKE JOHN NZ Trainer/Driver S Grima explained that in his opinion the gelding may not have appreciated the quick back up from Penrith on the 6 February 2025. He added that he had to make more use of LUKE JOHN NZ in the early stages of todays event which in his opinion was detrimental over the concluding stages. S Grima explained it would now be his intention to space the next start for LUKE JOHN NZ. S Grima’s explanation was noted.

MONTEFIORE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SUPA DUPA LUCA NZ – Broke gait after the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE PACE – 1609 metres

WATCH ME REACT – Leaving the 100 metres was hampered by OTIS RISING which shifted in and WILL I AM which hung out.

HEAVENLY REASON – Racing between the 1300 metres and the 1200 metres was tightened for racing room when THERES WALLY shifted in. Subsequently HEAVENLY REASON lost its rightful racing position.

OTIS RISING – Pre-race blood sample. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

THERES WALLY – Driver D Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 1300 metres when racing three wide he permitted THERES WALLY to shift in when not clear of HEAVENLY REASON resulting in HEAVENLY REASON being tightened for racing room and losing its rightful running. In assessing penalty, consideration was given to D Morris’s forthright evidence, plea of guilt and the degree of interference. D Morris had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days.

RACE 8 – FARMER JOES WHOLESALE PACE – 1609 metres

GIMME A REASON – Raced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Leaving the 100 metres was tightened and placed in restricted racing room for a significant distance over the concluding stages when THE BIG END OFTOWN shifted in. Subsequently GIMME A REASON had to be steadied and raced roughly approaching the finish.

BALTUSROL – Post-race swab sample.

THE BIG END OFTOWN – Driver S Arvidsson pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 100 metres she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent THE BIG END OFTOWN from shifting in and as a result GIMME A REASON which was racing to its inside was placed in restricted room and tightened for racing room for a significant distance and had to be checked and raced roughly approaching the finish. In assessing penalty consideration was given to Ms Arvidsson’s guilty plea, overall driving record and the degree of interference. Driver S Arvidsson had her licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days.

ETERNAL DREAM NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running over the concluding stages and as not fully tested.

 

RACE 9 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

UNCLE JAY - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.

ARGENT PEAK – Inclined to race roughly when shifted out approaching the 100 metres.

YOURDOINAMAZINSWEETY NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Broke gait after the start. Connections were advised the gelding would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw for the immediate future.
