RACE 1 – COUTTS LAWYERS PACE – 1609 metres
SPECULATING – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.
LITTLE LOUIE – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.
JOE NIEN – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
KOSIMO – Improved three wide from the 1100 metres until obtaining the lead passing the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
SUPER AMERICAN – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RAVISHING SLOY – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.
BIRKIRKARA – Pre-race blood sample.
DASHING – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 100 metres.
SWEET MAMA NZ – Driver Seaton Grima reported to Stewards the mare had cast its offside hind plate during the event.
AMERICAN SPIRIT – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.
TOORAM MAGIC – Pre-race blood sample.
THE JANITOR NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – TAB WE’RE ON FFA – 1609 metres
KINGMAKER NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
IM THE FALCON NZ – Trainer Jason Grimson was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the gelding.
SOONER THE BETTOR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Driver Gavin Fitzpatrick with regards to the performance of the horse which finished in 10th placing 14 metres. Mr Fitzpatrick advised Stewards that whilst the performance of the horse may have looked disappointing, it was having its first run since December 2024 and had broken the 1:50 mark on its own despite finishing in last placing. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed it to be lame in the left foreleg and has been stood down until the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.
MAX DELIGHT – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.
CAPTAINS KNOCK – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.
PETES SAID SO NZ – Held up in momentarily in the home straight passing the 100 metres.
RACE 4 – THE BIG SPORTS BREAKFAST PACE – 1609 metres
QUADDIE VC NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Driver Jack Callaghan with regards to the tactics he adopted in the early stages of the event in addition to the overall performance of the gelding which tired to finish in 10th placing beaten 18 metres. Mr Callaghan advised Stewards he felt the gelding was disappointing this evening after showing good form when driven by himself racing at Newcastle. Mr Callaghan advised Stewards he felt COMPETE had raced poorly when parked at Menangle last start and therefore didn’t feel it was in the best interest of his gelding to hand up to that runner however did feel they went a bit quicker than he would have liked in the early stages. Mr Callaghan further advised that potentially the gelding would benefit from being driven more conservatively in the higher graded Menangle events. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After consideration, Stewards determined to note the comments of Mr Callaghan.

JUST AS WELL NZ – Held up over the final 100 metres of the event.
SMALTESE –Hung in and raced roughly upon entry to the first turn placing DESTINY STRIDE in restricted room and causing that runner to contact a number of marker pegs. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
DESTINY STRIDE – Placed in restricted room upon entry to the first turn as a result of SMALTESE hanging in and racing roughly causing DESTINY STRIDE to contact a number of marker pegs.

RACE 5 – ULTRA AIR LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
PANDAIA NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
ILLAVABUBBLES NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1000 metres.
EYE KEEP SMILING – Post-race swab sample.
AARDIES EXPRESS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 6 – CORDINA CHICKEN FARMS HONDO GRATTAN STAKES (GROUP 3) – 1609 metres
BAY OF BISCAY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
THE BIGBOSS – Stewards questioned Driver Jack Callaghan with regards to the performance of the horse which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing beaten 24 metres. Mr Callaghan advised Stewards the horse was somewhat disappointing and never travelled well at any stage throughout the event. Mr Callaghan advised stewards Mr Grimson would wait to see how the horse pulled up and potentially change some gear and work for the horse in the lead up to its next start. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Callaghan, Stewards determined to note his comments.
VITE MONET – Raced roughly and broke passing the 350 metres, inconveniencing BETTER KNUCKLE UP NZ and checking WE WALK BY FAITH. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.
WAR DAN BUDDY – Post-race swab sample.
BETTER KNUCKLE UP NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 350 metres when VITE MONET broke stride.
WE WALK BY FAITH – Pre-race blood sample. Hung out after the start. Checked passing the 350 metres when VITE MONET broke stride.
KINGMAN NZ – Caught racing wide in the early and middle stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 700 metres.
DEE ROE – Held up over the final 100 metres of the event.
RACE 7 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY WILKINS PACE – 2300 metres
SWELL TIME NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
UNIQUELY IDEAL – Worked forward to the lead passing the 2000 metres. Post-race swab sample.
BETERTHANFEDERER – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced throughout the middle stages of the event. Driver Sofia Arvidsson reported to Stewards that she dropped her whip passing the 600 metres.
RACE 8 – MENANGLE PARK TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP – 2300 metres
HANOVER DA MOON NZ – Raced roughly after the start. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.
ALDEBARAN JENSEN – Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.
JUNGLE EYES – Raced roughly after the start.
ITZFERGIETIME – Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the mare, it will continue to be placed outside the standing start draw.
SUNNY GEE – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.
THE LOCOMOTIVE – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 9 – AINSWORTH A-STAR PACE – 1609 metres
HAVEYOUCHECKEDIN – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
HEAVENLY HOLLY – Shifted out after the start and as a result caused LOUS DREAM NZ to lock wheels with BRAVO STRIDE causing both runners to be severely checked and Blake Fitzpatrick to be dislodged as the driver of BRAVO STRIDE.
THE TAX CULLECTOR – Pre-race blood sample.
LOUS DREAM NZ – Locked wheels with BRAVO STRIDE soon after the start when HEAVENLY HOLLY shifted out and as a result of this incident LOUS DREAM was severely checked and retired from the event, further inconveniencing HAS THE COURAGE.
BRAVO STRIDE – Locked wheels with LOUS DREAM NZ shortly after the start as a result of HEAVENLY HOLLY shifting out causing BRAVO STRIDE to be severely checked and driver Blake Fitzpatrick to be dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination of BRAVO STRIDE failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Driver Blake Fitzpatrick was cleared of any injury by paramedics.
HAS THE COURAGE – inconvenienced after the start when LOUS DREAM NZ and BRAVOS STRIDE locked wheels.
