BOHEMIAN BRAWLER – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages of the event. Yielded ground from the 500m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 111.6m. BOHEMIAN BRAWLER will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.

WORKS FOR ME NZ – Post-race swab.

BETTOR KEPPEL – Pre-race swab.

RACE 2– SUCCESS STUD STAR TREK SERIES HEAT 1 – 1730 metres

General: Stewards inquired into an incident approaching the 400m and the reasons for RATATATTAT being checked and racing roughly. After taking evidence from Driver Anthony Frisby (RATATATTAT) & Cameron Fitzpatrick (KASBAH) and viewing the available replays it was established passing the 500m RATATATTAT was directed from a marker line position into the running line and attempted to improve forward between KASBAH which was racing along the marker line & MAGIC MATTEO which was being directed three (3) wide at that point of the event. However, when MAGIC MATTEO did not fully direct wider RATATATTAT was placed in restricted room simultaneously as JOGALONG BLUE commenced to yield ground which hampered KASBAH which was trailing that runner and racing keenly causing it to shift outwards marginally passing the 400m tightening & checking the racing room of RATATATTAT. Stewards could not be satisfied the incident was solely caused by any one driver or horse as there were contributing factors stewards noted the incident and took the matter no further.

RATATATTAT – Pre-race swab. Checked and raced roughly passing the 400m.

KASBAH – Shifted outwards approaching the 400m when JOGALONG BLUE commenced to give ground checking RATATATTAT.

ZEN MASTER – Pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

MAGIC MATTEO – Post-race swab.

JOGALONG BLUE – ($12.00) Driver Robert Morris was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the gelding which finished in 10th and last position beaten 29.8m after leading. Mr Morris advised JOGALONG BLUE had to endue more work than expected during the early stages of the event to obtain the lead with a quick first quarter of 27.5 seconds. Mr Morris added the gelding failed to pace fluently at any stages thereafter as JOGALONG BLUE is better suited to the larger Menangle track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed JOGALONG BLUE to be 2/5 lame in the right hind leg. JOGALONG BLUE will now be stood down from racing pending a veterinary clearance.

RACE 3 – SUCCESS STUD STAR TREK SERIES HEAT 2 – 1730 metres

General: Stewards delayed the All Clear to review the start in regards to MISTERFOURTHOUSAND which finished in 9th position if the gelding was granted a fair start when leaving the pre-race circle when being significantly out of position when the start was effected. After viewing the available replays and taking evidence from driver Hannah Anforth & Trainer Steve Turnbull it was established MISTERFOURTHOUSAND which was drawn on the second row was directed to the infield instead of in doing an additional circle as required initially when the field was called forward as the front row had not broken formation when MISTERFOURTHOUSAND  was directed back onto the racing surface the mobile commenced its score up MISTERFOURTHOUSAND was hindered by the clerk of the course causing the gelding to be directed wider on the track causing MISTERFOURTHOUSAND having an impeded score up. Stewards declared MISTERFOURTHOUSAND a non-runner in accordance with AHR Rule 141(1)(b) & All clear was given on the judges numbers. Ms Anforth was reminded of her obligations in that she must remain in her formation when drawn the second row until runners on the front row come out of their pre-race formation.

INDASKY NZ – Pre-race swab.

NICK OF TIME NZ – Post-race swab.

MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Inconvenienced & impeded during the early stages of the score up when attempting to improve around the clerk of the course. Declared a non-runner under AHR Rule 141(1)(b) being denied a fair start.

RACE 4– TAB VENUE MODE WARATAH HEAT – 1730 metres

MIGHTY JOLT – Pre-race swab.

SHEZ SWEET LOUISE NZ – Post-race swab.

NOVANTA RISING – Hang outwards at various stages of the event. Driver Berine Hewitt was issued a reprimand for shifting ground passing the 300m checking UNCLE TONY. In not taking more action stewards were mindful the racing manners of NOVANTA RISING contributed to the incident by hanging outwards & UNCLE TONY was hanging inwards.

UNCLE TONY – Hung inwards approaching the 250m checked & raced roughly passing the 250m when NOVANTA RISING shifted outwards.

RACE 5 – BHRC AGM ON 20 MARCH AT 6PM PACE – 1730 metres

BID FOR STARTDOM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities

HE AINT FAKIN – Post-race swab.

ROYAL CRUISER – ($7.50) Pre-race swab. Trainer/driver Bernie Hewitt was queried into the tactics adopted upon the gelding after racing three (3) wide throughout the event. Mr Hewitt advised ROYAL CRUISER was first up since 26th October 2024 after its three (3) year old campaign & racing against more seasoned runners as it was his intentions to restrain the gelding shortly after the start to a running line position however ROYAL CRUISER commenced to pull hard after the start was effected despite his efforts. Mr Hewitt explained passing the 1400m when attempting to restrain ROYAL CRUISER further the gelding  commenced to race more fiercely and he was mindful if he was to restrain the gelding to any further degree ROYAL CRUISER would choke down therefore, he elected to follow the movement of ZUESS BROMAC NZ forward during the middle stages as he was of the belief HE AINT FAKIN (Leader) would surrender the position to ZUESS BROMAC NZ approaching the 1000m and he would be able to obtain the position outside the leader, however when that failed to occur ROYAL CRUISER was caught racing three (3) wide and still over racing prior to being placed under pressure and giving ground from the 500m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 47.3m. After viewing the available replays which supported Mr Hewitt’s comments stewards noted the racing manners of ROYAL CRUISER were the main contributing factor to the tactics adopted and noted Mr Hewitt’s comments and advised him to take the corrective measures to prevent any reoccurrence. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 6 – SUCCESS STUD STAR TREK SERIES HEAT 3 – 1730 metres

UNCLE SPORTY – Raced roughly entering the first turn prior to breaking gait clear of interference a short distance latter and veered outwards checking BEER MONEY, BANDIT EYES, ALWAYSBMYPONEY & TITIWHA all to varying degrees. UNCLE SPORTY will now be stood down from racing until trialling the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.

WEARALLALONE – Driver Lleyton Green was issued a reprimand for lack of control in allowing the mare to shift outwards inside the final 200m.

BEER MONEY – Checked approaching the 1500m when UNCLE SPORTY broke gait and veered outwards.

MIRADOR LASS – Post-race swab.

LUCKY IN AMERICA – Pre-race swab.

MAGIC CAPTAIN – ($2.50 Fav) Trainer/driver Neil Day was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 24.7m. Mr Day advised he was satisfied with the overall performance as the gelding is one paced and lacks any high speed at this stage of it career and was unable to make ground when forced wider on the track passing the 400m in a 57.8 seconds final half for maidens.

RACE 9 – HRNSW GUARANTEED 2YO PACE – 1730 metres

HEARTOF KINGSCLAIR – Hang inwards during the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. HEARTOF KINGSCLAIR will now be placed on its last chance in the draw.
