RACE 5 – GRACE PANELLA – THE PUB DRIVE OF YEAR 2024 PACE – 1980 metres

WHISKEY ROYALE – When questioned in relation to the performance, Trainer Mr J Donovan explained that the gelding joined his stable 6 days previously in a full racing preparation. Despite this it had not pleased the stable in trackwork, however it was decided that it would be suited in this race due to displayed form this campaign. He expressed disappointment with the performance and stated that he would monitor recovery prior to committing to an ongoing racing program. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Donovan was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
