RACE 1 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 2300 metres
MILITARY MERIT – Galloped out at the start and took no competitive part in the event. Trainer’s representative R Morris requested that on behalf of connections, they would like MILITARY MERIT to be placed right outside the standing start draw for future events. In view of the comments of R Morris MILITARY MERIT will now be placed right outside the standing start draw.
DAIMYO – Became unbalanced and locked wheels leaving the 350 metres for which the gelding was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. Driver D Cernovskis pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(3) in that he used his whip in an unapproved manner when applying the whip on two occasions when not in contention and could not maintain or improve its position when applying it whilst galloping. Driver D Cernoviskis was fined $400 after considering his record and seriousness of the whip use.
FLASH KYVALLEY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
FAMILIAR TRICKS – Fractious at the barrier and reared shortly before the start. Checked shortly after the start when avoiding the galloping MILITARY MERIT.
RAKERO WARRIOR NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped after the start for which the gelding will continue to be excluded from the standing start draw.
SHEETWEB WEAVER – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
TIGER TEE – Checked after the start.
MALIBUU – Checked and broke after the start when avoiding the galloping MILITARY MERIT.
HOT TO TROT NZ – Hampered after the start when avoiding the galloping MILITARY MERIT. Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 1200 metres for which a warning was issued.
AFFAIRE DE COVER NZ – Checked after the start when avoiding the galloping MILITARY MERIT.
RACE 2 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres
SAPPHIRESNDIAMONDS – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
CAPTAIN GROOVE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 63.8 metres and finished in last position. Trainer/Driver R Alchin explained that he had over estimated the gelding’s ability at this stage and noted that its best performances of recent times had been racing outside of the leader. Mr Alchin added that considering the performance of the gelding in today’s event he may look to drive the gelding in a different manner around Menangle going forward. Mr Alchin further added that although noting the fast first half being 55.5 seconds, he felt that this was in the gelding’s capabilities and was disappointed in the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the gelding’s disappointing performance CAPTAIN GROOVE was issued its last chance to race truly.

MICHAEL CAINE NZ – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.
RACE 3 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres
TIGERLICIOUS – Post-race swab sample.
SUNSHINE KARAMEA – Raced roughly rounding the final turn before becoming unbalanced and galloping passing the 250 metres for which a warning was issued.
SCREENSHOT – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Out of position at the start for which the mare was issued its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.
GET US A TINNY – Driver J Grimson was fined $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position.
WAT EVER YOU NEED – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres.
OUR ULTIMATE JANE – Improved three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 800 metres.
RACE 4 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres
HOT CRUISE CONTROL – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
MISTER JONES NZ – Trainer S Farrugia was fined $50 under rule 210 for failing to declare C Geary as the driver by the prescribed time. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

RACE 5 – NATIONALTROTGUIDE.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
WINONA WRITER – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
QUIET STORM – Post-race swab sample.
LOCHIEL NZ – Re-included into the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 6 – PRYDE’S POWERPAK PACE – 1609 metres
RUM DELIGHT NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
BETTOR BE LUCKY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Driver J Douglass was cautioned in relation to his whip use during the middle stages of the home straight.
JUST ROCKNROLL – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1250 metres. Stewards questioned driver J Ogden in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the conclusion stages to be beaten 41.7 metres and finished in last position. Mr Ogden explained that the gelding had been required to work a little harder than he would have liked in the early stages to obtain the lead and noted that during the event the gelding had hit its knee throughout. Mr Ogden further added that Ms Heath’s usual farrier had not been available in the lead up to this race and they had tried a new farrier however will look to correct the gelding’s shoeing prior to its next race start. Stewards noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
KING COREY – Pre-race blood sample. Driver R Morris was fined $400 under rule 156(2)(a) in that in the home straight on the final occasion he has applied his whip to the gelding in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
CLASSICMAJOR – Driver J Gallagher was fined $400 under rule 156(2)(a) in that in the home straight on the final occasion he has applied his whip to the gelding in more than a wrist only flicking motion. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – TINTIN IN AMERIC @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
MINI MINE YET NZ – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 46.8 metres.
TOMAHAWK BART – Pre-race blood sample.
MAJOR STATEMENT – Post-race swab sample.
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Forced wide leaving the 400 metres when EPIC ERNIE was taken up the track to its inside. Locked wheels with EPIC ERNIE on entry to the home straight on the final occasion when EPIC ERNIE shifted up the track marginally and was checked.
EPIC ERNIE – Driver B McDonough pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(b) for forcing another runner to cover more ground than necessary in that leaving the 500 metres he has shifted EPIC ERNIE up the track whilst having CAPTAIN BLOOD racing to his outside and as a result CAPTAIN BLOOD has been taken out into a three wide position prior to the nominated marker at the 400 metres. Driver B McDonough had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days to commence midnight 19 March 2025. In assessing penalty Stewards considered driver B McDonough’s guilty plea, circumstances of the incident and overall driving record. Locked wheels momentarily with CAPTAIN BLOOD shortly after entering the home straight on the final occasion when EPIC ERNIE had shifted up the track marginally to its inside.
RACE 8 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 1609 metres
TITIAN RAIDER – Raced roughly under pressure shortly after entering the home straight for which a warning was issued.
HAS THE COURAGE – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
