RACE 1 – MAJOR OAK @ CLUB PACEWAY MAR 29 PACE – 1720 metres

CLEMENTSORRELL – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines.  No abnormalities were detected. 

MADAZALWAYS – Hung out under pressure over the final 200 metres.  A warning was issued.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

NOTMUCHUPTOP – Approaching the 200 metres was inclined to lay in and contacted marker pegs

LANI KAI BEACH – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines.  No abnormalities were detected. 

TEAM OF STARZZZ – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines.  No abnormalities were detected.

SILENT REACTION – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Over raced during the middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres

EYEKNOW – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

KNOCKOUT TYSON – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

 

RACE 3 – JOHN VELLA MEMORIAL – 1720 metres

HOT CRUISE CONTROL – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Tired over the concluding stages.  When questioned B Portelli explained that he was confident he could cross SALERO after the start however when this did not eventuate his runner was inclined to over race racing in the position outside of the leader.  He added that near the 500 metres HOT CRUISE CONTROL failed to respond to his driving.  B Portelli said that in his opinion the gelding had pulled up well and irrespective of the quick back up from Tuesday (18th Tuesday night) he did not believe that was a contributing factor.  B Portelli’s explanation was noted.

NOTSOKOOL – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Caught wide in the early stages and when being restrained was inclined to race roughly.  Unable to secure clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines.  No abnormalities were detected.

 

RACE 4 – THE COREY “OUR POLAR” FOREVER 17 PACE – 2125 metres

DILETTO – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

ROCKSIE ROCK – Over raced during the middle stages of the event.

SET UP – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

ONE MORE ALTA – Broke gait at the start.  a warning was issued.  ONE MORE ALTA continued to gallop for a significant period of time and trailed the field throughout. 

MIZZZ ADELE – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres.

 

RACE 5 – COLLECTORS PLANT FAIR APRIL 12 & 13 PACE – 1720 metres

OUR UNCLE JIM – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MERRYWOOD TONY – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained toward the rear of the field.

MAJOR STATEMENT – Raced four wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1300 metres.

PORT AU PRINCE NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

LUKE JOHN NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

 

RACE 6 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 1720 metres

WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed blood present in the near side nostril.  Connections were advised that FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE would be stood down until it can complete one satisfactory trial.  An inquiry was opened into the conduct of driver K Bigeni and trainer’s representative J Bigeni post race.  After taking evidence from both licensees official starter T Clarke and official veterinarian T Drayton the inquiry was adjourned to Menangle on Saturday, 22 March 2025.

STELLINA – Driver S Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(2)(a) for applying her whip to STELLINA in more than a wrist only flicking motion on multiple occasions over the final 200 metres.  S Morris was fined the sum of $200.

CHEVRON FLIES NZ – Improved three wide in the middle stages before crossing to the position outside of the leader.

 

RACE 7 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

GENERAL – The all clear was delayed when the judge semaphored the numbers of 3 and 5 dead heating for first.  After Stewards viewed the official photo and consulted with the judge, Stewards were satisfied that a clear margin existed and amended the judge’s numbers to 3, 5, 1 and 8 and all clear was given.

TAP OUT – Gave ground over the final 500 metres.

TRISTAR FOR CHRIS – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

LOUMIA – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward and obtaining the one out one back position near the 1400 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

WHAT FOR – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained toward the rear of the field.  Leaving the 600 metres was hampered by TAP OUT when that runner commenced to give ground and subsequently HES MY REASON was unable to obtain an unimpeded run until approaching the 300 metres.

 

RACE 8 – SECUREGUARD 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

TORA – Inclined to hang in when racing between the 600 metres and the 400 metres.

APEX STRIDE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  When questioned trainer/driver B Fitzpatrick explained that the colt is relatively inexperienced and over raced in the lead.  He said that leaving the 200 metres the colt was under pressure and weakened over the concluding stages.  B Fitzpatrick stated that APEX STRIDE would now be gelded and sent for a break prior to its next start.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. 

CRUSADER MISS – Driver D Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip to CRUSADER MISS in more than a wrist only flicking motion on multiple occasions between the 200 metres and the 100 metres.  D Murphy was fined the sum of $200.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.
