RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2120 metres
JOHEMIAN – Trainer/Driver Miss J Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a), stating that at the entrance to the home straight she attempted to shift TOOTHSVILLE wider to improve without sufficient clearance of that runner, resulting in sulky contact and JOHEMIAN breaking stride and galloping. J Morris’s licence to drive in races was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 26 March 2025 and expire 3 April 2025 on which day she may drive.
DEVILBEND – Weakened noticeably inside the 400 metres and gave ground. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Post-race swab sample.
BEAUTIFULLY PUT – Pre-race blood sample.
PIPPA CHEER – Fractious in the score up and difficult to drive into position. Connections were advised the mare would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Weakened over the concluding stages. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing record for poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare displayed a slow recovery rate.
CHASIN YOU – Sustained a gear malfunction when the number 3 carrying strap broke. Raced thereafter. Connections were advised that following required satisfactory performance CHASIN YOU would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.
LUCKY IN AMERICA – Galloped away when the start was effected. Connections were advised the mare would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 2 – NEXT MEETING FRIDAY APRIL 11 PACE – 1720 metres
ERMINNIE QUINCE – Post-race swab sample.
CARIBBEAN PAT – Held up in the home straight and unable to be tested.
LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer/driver K Winnell was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h), for failing to drive the gelding into position at the start.
ROSIE ROMANCE – Hampered and had to be steadied momentarily near the 100 metres when attempting to avoid PREACHER QUINCE which shifted out when not quite clear. Subsequently S Dowton the Trainer/Driver of PREACHER QUINCE was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii).
CHILLAX – Driver Ms K Dean was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h), for failing to drive the mare into position at the start. Connections were advised that due to being out of position the mare would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 3 – CLUB DUBBO PACE – 1720 metres
SPRINGFIELD DESIRE – Post-race swab sample.
BATED BREATH – Took charge of its driver passing the 1100 metres and shifted wider into restricted running. Trainer/Driver Mr L Burns was advised BATED BREATH must now perform tractably in two official qualifying trials and a stand down period days would be applied.
CELEBRITY CRUISE – Hampered and forced wider passing the 1100 metres when racing outside BATED BREATH.
THE RINGMASTER – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and galloped for a short distance. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
JUSTADIVA – Shifted wider by its driver and forced to cover extra ground when allowing safe racing for BATED BREATH passing the 1100 meters which had taken charge of its driver.
SHEZ A WARRIOR – Driver B Medlyn was found guilty of a charge under Rule 168(1)(a), stating that when attempting to obtain clear running inside the 100 metres he failed to allow sufficient room to avoid contact with the sulky of KARINYA MAX which was racing forward of him, resulting in SHEZ A WARRIOR having to be checked, breaking stride and galloping. B Medlyn’s licence to drive in races was suspended for 10 days to commence midnight 26 March 2025 and expire 6 April 2025 on which day he may drive.
RACE 4 – 2DU PACE – 1720 metres
PYEKAKARIKI – Driver J Coney pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(7), stating that when applying the whip approaching the home turn, he did so in manner that was outside the confines of the sulky and contacted the sulky wheel. J Coney was fined $200.
WESTERN BILL – Had to be checked for some distance near the 500 metres and shifted wider to avoid CAMNAT which was weakening.
MILLIONDOLLAR KISS – Trainer/Driver Mr J Mitchell pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule149(2), stating his driving was unacceptable in the following terms: That after failing to obtain his intended forward position, he did from a position approaching the 1200m fail to drive in a manner that would allow MILLIONDOLLAR KISS any respite, whereby he did not restrain in an attempt to obtain cover and continually maintained a three wide position with constant urging, including the application of the whip for an extended period, resulting in MILLIONDOLLAR KISS being exposed for the entirety of the race which was run at an acknowledged fast tempo for this grade, then weakening noticeably from the 500 metres and not being afforded the opportunity to finish in its best possible position. J Mitchell’s licence to drive in races was suspended for four weeks to commence midnight 23 March 2025 and expire 21 April 2025 on which day he may drive. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
CAMNAT – When questioned in relation to the performance, Driver J Turnbull explained he had intended to find cover after the start, however he was unable to do so and rounding the first turn was trapped racing very wide. He said after this he was obliged to drive with urgency to obtain a forward position which he eventually did entering the back straight outside the lead. He said that thereafter CAMNAT over raced and was unsuited to racing without cover and because of this began to weaken passing the 500 metres. He said the mare would be better advantaged by being able to obtain cover in the early stages of its races. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised a poor performance warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

RACE 5 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres.
KATLAS DREAM – Post-race swab sample.
GET UP BETTY – Broke stride free of any external factors and galloped passing the 1000 metres. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing record.
ROLL TO THE TOP – Pre-race blood sample. Hung out rounding the turn after the start, shifted out despite the efforts of its driver and contacted BLAZING CHIMES. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing record.
BLAZING CHIMES – Sustained contact rounding the turn after the start, broke stride and galloped for a short distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
A DUSTY DANCE – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and galloped for a short distance. Trainer/Driver Mr M Hewitt was advised the mare would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 6 – PEAK HILL VOLUNTEERS PACE – 2120 metres
FOREVER ONTHE PUNT – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RIDE MY HIGH – Pre-race blood sample.
TEESWIFT – Raced under pressure inside the 100 metres.
RACE 7 – WAYNE & SUE ROSSER PACE – 1720 metres
MAJOR MILLIE – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examination.
REVEILLE JET – Pre-race blood sample.
KARLOO CANDICE – Post-race swab sample.
MATTERSON EXPRESS – Trainer/Driver Mr W Cassell was cautioned in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip over the concluding stages.
WHY NOTT – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examination.
RACE 8 – THE HANDO PACE – 2120 metres
ZEUSS – Hung in passing the 900 metres. Shifted in despite the efforts of its driver and broke stride. Trainer/Driver Mr J Brown was advised a warning would be placed on the colt’s racing record. A post-race veterinary examination ZEUSS displayed an elevated heart rate.
QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 400 metres and galloped. Trainer/driver Mr T Robson will be advised that prior to racing again QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.
CAMSTAR ROAD – Pre-race blood sample.
CAPTAIN OF SPEED – Post-race swab sample.
TEARIN UP THE SAND – Driver J Coney’s left foot dropped below the sulky rest momentarily passing the 200 metres. Broke stride free of any external factors and galloped passing the 1800 metres. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
RACE 9 – KYLE BARNES MEMORIAL – 2120 metres
TERRYRAMA – Slow to begin.
KADAR – Post-race swab sample.
MARVELLOUS MAC – Driver J Turnbull’s left foot dropped below the sulky rest momentarily when activating gear passing the 300 metres.
PARATROUPER – Pre-race blood sample.
YAREADYFREDDY – When questioned in relation to the performance, Driver M Hewitt explained he intended to find cover in the early stages however he was trapped wide after the start and YAREADYFREDDY over raced resulting in him being unable to restrain to a covered position. He said because of this he allowed the gelding to stride forward and eventually obtained the position outside the lead. He said that thereafter YAREADYFREDDY continued to pull hard, could not be properly restrained and resented racing without cover, resulting in the gelding weakening noticeably from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
SIR RICHARD LEE – Broke stride and galloped for a short distance during the score up. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
SUPA DUPA LUCA NZ – Sustained a gear malfunction when the lugging pole became displaced during the score up and a false start was declared. When the race recommenced broke stride shortly after the start and galloped. Connections were advised the gelding would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
