ALDEBARAN JENSEN – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead passing the 750 metres. Stewards delayed the all clear of this event to ascertain whether or not ALDEBARAN JENSEN had met the obligations under Rule 155 and if it had gained ground, maintained its ground, caused interference or obtained an advantage to the detriment of any other runner when galloping passing the 200 metres and remaining in a gallop over the concluding stages of the event. After reviewing the available replays and taking evidence from Driver K Elliott as well as Trainers representative R Morris, Stewards determined that approaching the 200 metres ALDEBARAN JENSEN had commenced to trot roughly before galloping and whilst in a gallop, the gelding had maintained its ground and therefore acting under the provisions of Rule 155(1) Stewards disqualified ALDEBARAN JENSEN from the event and the all clear was given on the new numbers of 5 – 9 – 4 – 8. In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was issued.
