RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres.
THREE PARTS GREY – Pre-race blood sample.
JUST TOMMY – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.
MIDAS SHANNON – Hung in when placed under pressure inside the 300 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – STOCKMANS SUPPLIES – FARRIER EQUIPMENT PACE – 1609 metres
MISTER ARTIKULATE – Post-race swab sample.
PRINCE OF PAYNE – Raced ungenerously for some distance in the middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
BOOKER BAY – Pre-race blood sample.
MY TWO EVES – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
RACE 3 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1980 metres
FIAMORE – Pre-race blood sample.
WHAT AGAIN SHANNON – Had to be checked passing the 600 metres when attempting to avoid MAKE MINE MERICAN which was weakening.
SWEET ROCKY – Driver B Elder was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip inside the 100 metres. Post-race swab sample.
THE AFRICAN QUEEN – Had to be checked passing the 600 metres when attempting to avoid MAKE MINE MERICAN which was weakening.
MAKE MINE MERICAN – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver C McElhinney explained that after racing at the rear of the running line in the early stages, she was unhappy with the tempo and elected to shift three wide to improve passing the 1200 metres. She said that after gaining an initial response MAKE MINE MERICAN could not clear WHAT AGAIN SHANNON at the head of the running line without being placed under full pressure and after this weakened despite her efforts. She said that inside the 600 metres MAKE MINE MERICAN became unresponsive. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
RACE 4 – BROCK SAMPSON GOLF PACE – 1609 metres
RIP JACKSON – Post-race swab sample.
ROLAMAX – Pre-race blood sample. Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 400 metres and galloped. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
MAC STUBBORN – Had to be checked severely passing the 400 metres when attempting to avoid ROLAMAX which had galloped.
MY ROCK MOVES – Raced roughly on occasions during the race.
YOU CANNOT HIDE – Broke stride in the score up and galloped away when the start was affected. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
RACE 5 – MATES4HARNESS LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
FROZEN JEWEL – Declared a late scratching at 3.24pm when a veterinary examination prior to the start revealed the mare had struck its off foreleg during the preliminary and was mildly lame. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant injury. Trainer Mr J Hetherington was advised that a stand down period of six days would be applied.
NIGHTWATCH STAR – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start and galloped. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.
SAFE JEWELS – Post-race swab sample.
HEAVENLY SONG – Pre-race blood sample.
COBLA ROYALE – Hampered and had to be shifted wider rounding the turn after the start when avoiding NIGHTWATCH STAR which had galloped.
KATASTROPHEE – Held up in the home straight when attempting to obtain a narrow run inside SAFE JEWELS and had to be shifted out over the concluding stages to be driven forward.
RACE 6 – TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 1980 metres
ROCKET BOY – Pre-race blood sample.
SKY DIAMOND NZ – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
FAST TRACKER – Hung out when placed under pressure inside the 200 metres and ran wide over the concluding stages. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – VALE LINDY MACGILL – 1980 metres
VINCENTIUS MAXIMUS – Pre-race blood sample. Failed to travel at any stage, then weakened noticeably inside the 600 metres and finished distanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered a cardiac arrythmia. Connections were advised that a stand down period of 14 days would now be applied, then prior to it competing satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial the gelding must undergo a veterinary examination including an ECG to determine its fitness.
PURE DRAGON – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver B Hughes explained that after establishing the lead relatively easily he was challenged in the early stages by DATIZIT and then PARATROUPER, then rounding the turn passing the winning post on the first occasion when SUPERBON challenged in a three wide position PURE DRAGON began to over race and would not settle. He said that this resulted in a faster first section than he had envisaged and the mare being unresponsive when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that prior to racing again PURE DRAGON must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
DATIZIT – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver G Young explained that the gelding travelled relatively well in a covered position in the early stages, however when placed under pressure inside the 600 metres it became unresponsive and could not improve despite her constant efforts. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that prior to racing again DATIZIT must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
COLBY NZ – Hampered and had to be shifted wider passing the winning post with a lap remaining to avoid VINCENTIUS MAXIMUS which was weakening.
NIGHT TO REMEMBER – Hampered and had to be shifted wider passing the winning post with a lap remaining when attempting to avoid VINCENTIUS MAXIMUS which was weakening.
ASHLEYS BLUE CHIP – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – TAMWORTH EQUINE VET CENTRE PACE – 1980 metres
PARIS PRINCESS – Post-race swab sample.
SMOLENSKI – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver J Coney explained that after being caught wide after the start she drove forward to obtain the position outside the lead. She said that despite racing without cover in the early stages SMOLENSKI travelled relatively well, however when placed under pressure passing the 900 metres the mare became unresponsive and weakened despite her constant efforts. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that prior to racing again SMOLENSKI must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
THOMAS ROYALE – Pre-race blood sample.
ANNIE CROCKER – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 900 metres, then broke stride free of any external factors inside the 300 metres. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.
ALLSOPP – Hampered and shifted slightly wider inside the 600 metres when racing outside LACHIES GAMBLE which shifted marginally wider at that section despite the efforts of its driver.
