RACE 1 – MEDOWIE LODGE PACE – 1609 metres
ALL STAR MAGICIAN – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
WALLAROY BOY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
RACE 2 – NUTRIEN EQUINE STANDARDBRED SALES PACE – 1609 metres
HALLOWEEN – Post-race sample.
NOTMUCHUPTOP – Pre-race sample. Checked leaving the 800m when COULDNT RECOMMEND commenced to give ground.
NIGHTWATCH STAR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
COOINDALAI – Checked leaving the 800m when COULDNT RECOMMEND commenced to give ground.
COULDNT RECOMMEND – Commenced to give ground racing into the back straight on the final occasion before tiring to be being beaten in excess of 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from Atrial Fibrillation for the first occasion. Connections were advised that prior to racing again COULDNT RECOMMEND would require a fourteen day stand down from racing, to complete one satisfactory trial and a veterinary certificate including a satisfactory ECG.
GUNFIGHTERSGHOST – Checked leaving the 800m when COULDNT RECOMMEND commenced to give ground.
RACE 3 – SKAYFALL ESTATE PACE – 1609 metres
EYES BEEN PATIENT – Driver Bevan Pringle was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to his drive in the early stages of the home straight with more than a wrist only flicking action.
DOUBLE LINES – Post-race sample.
JOHNNY DEE – Pre-race sample.
TORQUE LIKE A LADY – Galloped at the 1200m and a warning was issued.
LETTUCE GO MIKI – Galloped leaving the 800m and in assessing the previous racing record of LETTUCE GO MIKI it was stood down for a period of 28 days and until the completion of four satisfactory trials.
RACE 4 – TOMMY REAY MEMORIAL SAPLING PRELUDE – 1609 metres
LINE OF COURAGE – Galloped after start checking LEWIE KELLY. A warning was issued against the filly’s barrier manners.
MIDNIGHT HAZE – Pre-race sample. Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
WHERES MY REASON – Post-race sample.
FAKE FRIENDS – Late Scratching at 12:00pm due to a float breakdown en route to the course.
TOLLSA KING – Galloped after the start and will continue to be placed outside of the mobile barrier draw.
LEWIE KELLY – Checked after the start when LINE OF COURAGE galloped.
RACE 5 – HARNESS BREEDERS NSW – REPRESENTING THE INDUSTRY PACE – 1609 metres
ABRIDGED – Pre-race sample.
FLEUR BELLA – Inconvenienced when WAR WESTERN was giving ground rounding the final turn. Contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn.
WAR WESTERN – Galloped in the early stages of the score up and a warning was issued. Driver Brad Elder explained that WAR WESTERN was disappointing in the overall performance and stated that the gelding failed to pace comfortably throughout. Mr Elder further stated that due to hanging in rounding the final turn WAR WESTERN failed to run on over the final 200m when pacing roughly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both hind legs, acting upon this evidence WAR WESTERN was stood down until the completion of a satisfactory veterinary clearance.
TOUGH TALKS – Driver Blake Hughes was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(i) for failing to have his runner in position at the candy pole during the score up.
POLISH PRINCE – Tired to be beaten 85m and was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
DOUBLE SAID – Post-race sample. Hung out under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD SHUTTLING THE WORLDS BEST SIRES PACE – 1609 metres
KIARAS EPONA – Late scratching at 11:30am acting upon veterinary advice.
GHOSTLY COURAGE – Contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn.
SHADOW ECLIPSE – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
SLINGSHOT – Held up for clear racing room rounding the final turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
SPEARHEAD – Fractious leaving the pre-race circle requiring the assistance of both Clerk of Course, as a result a false start was declared. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of the gelding.
MEGS MONARO – Over-raced during the early and middle stages. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish.
RACE 7 – MITAVITE PACE – 1609 metres
VAN SHARD NZ – Pre-race sample. Tired to be beaten 128m and was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings.
GIMMEFIVEMINUTESMORE NZ – Held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
LONGNWINDINGROAD – Post-race sample.
ROCK IT LOUD – Galloped at the 1400m and a warning was issued.
WESTERN RICKI – Checked leaving the 800m when VAN SHARD NZ commenced to give ground.
MIKI LEE – Out of position in the score up and at the start and will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 8 – ARTISTIC LODGE PACE – 1609 metres
GROSESTAR – Severely checked and galloped leaving the 400m when ERROL FIN galloped.
DOLLARSIGN – Driver Brad Elder pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) with the particulars of the charge being, Mr Elder shifted DOLLARSIGN wider on the track when insufficiently clear of the extended front legs of ERROL FIN, resulting in that runner galloping and severely checking GROSESTAR. JUNIOR WARFARE was also checked as a result of ERROL FIN galloping. The driving licence of Mr Elder to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days. In assessing penalty Stewards were mindful of the guilty plea, driving record and the tractability of ERROL FIN prior to the incident. The suspension was ordered to commence midnight 7TH April 2025. Tightened for racing room leaving the 300m when ZEN MASTER slightly shifted down the track.
JUNIOR WARFARE – Checked at the 400m when ERROL FIN galloped.
IDEAL REDEMPTION – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
ERROL FIN – Commenced to give ground and was inclined to hang in leaving the back straight on the final occasion. Checked and galloped at the 400m when DOLLARSIGN was shifted wider on the track. Severely checked GROSESTAR, which galloped. JUNIOR WARFARE was also checked.
ZEN MASTER – Hung in leaving the 300m and tightened the racing room of DOLLARSIGN. Driver Lleyton Green was issued with a reprimand for tightening the racing room DOLLARSIGN during the section of the race.
LACHIES IDEAL – Checked leaving the back straight on the final occasion when trailing ERROL FIN, after that runner commenced to give ground and hung in.
RACE 9 – ALABAR AUSTRALIA PACE – 1609 metres
PRINCE LOUIE – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
SINBINNED – Tightened for racing room in the home straight on the final occasion between CHEDDER VALLEY NZ and DANCE WITH CARMER.
MULLUM ROXY – Driver Michelle Neilson was issued with a reprimand for tightening after directing her drive wider on the track in the home straight on the final occasion. This movement resulted in CHEDDER VALLEY NZ being forced to shift wider resulting in SINBINNED being tightened for racing room between CHEDDER VALLEY NZ and DANCE WITH CARMER.
CHEDDER VALLEY NZ – Inconvenienced when forced to shift wider with the movement of MULLUM ROXY to the inside over the concluding stages.
DANCE WITH CARMER – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.
MISTER CHEESE – Over-raced throughout the event. Held up for clear racing room and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
