RACE 1 – BCIT SOLUTIONS PACE – 1730 metres

LADY ROCKABELLUM – After showing gate speed became unbalanced and broke stride shortly after the start. Considering the mares recent record it will now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Due to the distance lost while galloping, took no competitive part in the race.

THE MISSING SOCK NZ – Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the race due to an incident when the mare was leaving the stabling area, there were no abnormalities on examination and was cleared to start.

TENMINUTES – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – TOWN & COUNTRY URAL SUPPLIES PACE – 1730 metres

HALL MOST AN ANGEL – Hung in shortly after the start was affected.

MAMMALS GIRL – Post-race swab sample.

LIVE VANCE – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

JASPERSTIMETOSHINE – Pre-race blood sample.

RATATATTAT – Trainer/Driver A Frisby was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance where it failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 8th position beaten 21.9 metres. He stated he was very disappointed in the way the gelding finished the race off and inspecting the gelding after the race revealed it had got down on its back bumpers which may have contributed to the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 1/5 lame in the near side hind leg due to a small laceration to the bumpers. RATATATTAT will be stood down for a veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialing.

RACE 3 – BATHURST PANTHERS PACE – 1730 metres

SPRINGFIELD AMORE – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the colt has not raced since 30 March 2024. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Pre-race blood sample. Entering the home straight on the final occasion when racing under pressure, raced roughly for a short distance.

NO LUCK – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 4 – BATHURST RSL PACE – 1730 metres

TERRYRAMA – Slow to begin when the start was affected.

BUDDY BRILLIANCE – Pre-race blood sample. Fractious when leaving the score up circle and as a result was out of position at the start. Furthermore, galloped out when the start was affected. Connections were advised BUDDY BRILLIANCE will be given its last chance in the draw. Took no competitive part in the race.

STUDLEIGH MELISE – Post-race swab sample.

BETTOR SHUSH – Despite the efforts of its driver was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.

RACE 5 – BLINDS BY DESIGN PACE – 1730 metres

WINDY HILL TARA – Post-race swab sample.

OUR GOAT – Had a tendency to hang out in the latter stages of the score up. Driver J Hewitt was questioned on his tactics in relation to restraining the gelding shortly after the start which was contrary to the way the gelding has been driven in recent starts. He stated he anticipated there was speed drawn to his inside and he would be caught racing wide if going forward which would have him working more than suitable for the gelding. He elected to restrain to find a position at the rear of the field in the early stages, when settling in the early stages the tempo in the race was slower than anticipated but happy with how the gelding finished the race off due to the slow tempo. His comments were noted.

ROCKU – Pre-race blood sample. Raced roughly in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.  Driver J Coney was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 9th and last position beaten 18.5 metres. He stated he was not overly disappointed in the gelding’s performance considering the slow tempo of the race for the class of horse and a fast last quarter proving detrimental to the gelding being able to make ground over the concluding stages.

HE AINT FAKIN – Hung in shortly after the start.

HES CHIMING – Driver J O’Shea was queried on the gelding’s overall performance when failing to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 7th position beaten 11.6 metres. He stated he was not disappointed in the gelding’s effort as when performing at his best has always led the race and from the second row draw was unable to do so, with the slow tempo and fast last quarter of the race proving detrimental to the gelding being able to run on over the concluding stages.

RACE 6 – BATHURST TOYOTA PACE – 1730 metres

ROYAL FOCUS – Pre-race blood sample.

JOSEY MINT – Placed in restricted racing room at the 1300 metres when racing to the inside of VALENTINI.

VALENTINI – Had a tendency to hang in under pressure over the concluding stages.

ABSOLUTE WEAPON – Approaching the 1350 metres was tightened when racing to the inside of JOSEY MINT and as a result contacted marker pegs.

BABY YOURE THE ONE – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 7 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS PACE – 1730 metres

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

THE ROGUE I AM – Post-race swab sample.

THE DANCER – Pre-race blood sample.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Driver H Ross was queried on his driving tactics over the final 400 metres in particular if there was an opportunity to shift wider to obtain clear running. He stated when leaving the 400 metres he was trailing MILLIONDOLLAR KISS on the marker line and was mindful of SATELLITE SIMBA racing to his outside if he shifted wider at that stage may cause interference to that runner. Approaching the sprint lane he was mindful that MILLIONDOLLAR KISS would utilise the sprint lane and elected to shift his runner wider in an attempt to obtain clear running which was unable to do so and went to the line without finding clear racing room. Stewards advised Mr Ross they believed his tactics not to be culpable enough to take any action against his license but believed he had erred in not attempting to shift wider when leaving the 400 metres, furthermore when approaching the sprint lane, he may have erred by not attempting a run to the inside of MILLIONDOLLAR KISS.

RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

CHEVAL JULIA – Pre-race blood sample.

PRECISE NZ – Post-race swab sample.
