RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1980 metres.

SMOLENSKI – Pre-race blood sample. Driver T Brown was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

SEVEN RIPPIN ACES – Post-race swab sample.

ROLAMAX – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.

 

RACE 2 – HYGAIN – EQUINE FEED SPECIALISTS PACE – 1609 metres

BARKWAY ARIAN – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped for a short distance. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start. Connections were further advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Weakened noticeably inside the 600 metres and tailed the field. Trainer/Driver Mr G Hoy was advised that prior to racing again BARKWAY ARIAN must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

TERROR FLYING – Had to be checked during the middle stages of the score up when contact was made with BARKWAY ARIAN.

WHISKEY ROYALE – Pre-race blood sample.

YOU CANNOT HIDE – Post-race swab sample.

MY ROCK MOVES – Inconvenienced during the score up and was out of position at the start.

LACHIES GAMBLE – Following required satisfactory performance; connections were advised the gelding would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – EASTER BUNNY ARRIVES AT 3PM PACE – 1980 metres.

COUNTRY MAJOR – Pre-race blood sample.

OTIS RISING – Broke stride free of any external factors near the 400 metres however was quickly restrained and gained no advantage on the remainder of the field. Trainer/Driver Mr T Ison was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Post-race swab sample.

JUS BLING IT – Driver R Morris was reprimanded under Rule 168(1)(a), for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent the gelding shifting into the line of COUNTRY MAJOR near the 700 metres resulting in slight contact to the inside sulky wheel which went flat at that point. Further Mr Morris was reprimanded under Rule 170(1)(a), for allowing his left foot to drop below the sulky rest inside the 100 metres.

 

RACE 4 – HAPPY 80TH – SPUD VERNING FOR 28TH APRIL PACE – 1609 metres

APACHE WHITESOX – Pre-race blood sample. When questioned in relation to the performance, Driver C Formosa explained that she drove to the lead in accordance with her instructions and the gelding travelled relatively well in the early stages. She said when challenged passing the 600 metres by GOTONEBETTOR, APACHE WHITESOX became unresponsive and weakened from that point despite her efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to its off fore pastern. Trainer Mr R Roots was advised a stand down period of 7 days would be applied.

CLASSIC ARC – Post-race swab sample.

MAGIC SHOOS – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

MISTER ARTIKULATE – Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 600 metres. Trainer/Driver Mr T Ison was advised that prior to racing again MISTER ARTIKULATE must perform tractably in two official qualifying trials and a stand down period of 14 days would be applied.

 

RACE 5 – TAMWORTH TROPHEY SUPPLIES LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

WEREGOINGTOGETCHA – Held up in the home straight and unable to be fully tested.

FREEDOM ART – Pre-race blood sample. Driver R Morris was fined $200 under Rule 156(7), for applying the whip outside the confines of the sulky approaching the home turn. Post-race swab sample.

WATSLUVGOTTADO – Galloped away when the start was effected. Trainer/Driver Miss G Panella was advised the provision of last chance in the mobile draw would be placed on the mares racing record.

 

RACE 6 – PERC VERNING MEMORIAL – 1980 metres

DOUBLE IT HARRY – Post-race swab sample.

ADRENALINE RUSH – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – HAPPY EASTER – CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

HE SAID SHE SAID – Pre-race blood sample. Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.

FAST TRACKER – Post-race swab sample.

GROSSO NASO – Driver B Hughes was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h), for failing to drive the gelding into position at that start.

NEXT TO ME NZ – Held up in the home straight and unable to be fully tested.

PARATROUPER – Held up in the home straight and unable to be fully tested.

 

RACE 8 – WELCOME MINI TROTTERS – STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS PACE – 1980 metres

ABDICATE NZ – Broke stride free of any external factors near the 600 metres and galloped. A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ELEGANT GROOVES – Pre-race blood sample.

RACING PAULA – had to be checked severely near the 600 metres when racing behind ABDICTAE NZ when that runner galloped.

ONEHANDONEBOUNCE – Hampered and shifted slightly wider rounding the home turn when racing outside A LOT OF LUVIN which shifted out marginally.

COLBY NZ – Had to be checked severely near the 600 metres when racing behind RACING PAULA which had been checked to avoid ABDICATE NZ.

DIDSHDOIT NZ – Hung in throughout and was difficult to drive on occasions. Placed second. Driver C Formosa lodged a protest against ONEHANDONEBOUNCE being declared the winner, alleging interference in the home straight. In dismissing the objection, it was conceded that whilst DIDSHEDOIT NZ was impeded by ONEHANDONEBOUNCE inside the 120 metres when that runner shifted wider continually, it was determined that DIDSHEDOIT NZ was not finishing the race strongly enough to finish ahead of ONEHANDONEBOUNCE. Subsequently, Driver B Hughes pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 162(1)(www)(i), stating that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent ONEHANDONEBOUNCE shifting out and impeding the running of DIDSHEDOIT NZ in the home straight. B Hughes was fined $200. Post-race swab sample.
