RACE 1 – NATIONALTROTGUIDE.COM.AU TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 1609 metres
MILITARY MERIT – Broke gait at the start and will continue to be placed right outside of the draw in standing start events. After regaining its correct gait passing the 1100 metres broke gait and lost significant ground. Trainer/driver K Morris was advised that MILITARY MERIT would be stood down for one standing start trial.
FLASH KYVALLEY – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines.
IVANKA NZ – Shortly after the start became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued. Approaching the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A further warning was issued.
PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ – Leaving the 500 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. Placed on its last chance to race truly.
ONAWINGANDAPRAYER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Passing the 500 metres was checked when PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ broke gait.
RAKERO WARRIOR NZ – Shortly after the start became unbalanced and broke gait. Connections were advised that RAKERO WARRIOR NZ would be continued outside of the standing start draw.
ITZ TRIXTON TIME NZ – Leaving the 500 metres had to be steadied and taken wide to avoid PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ which broke gait.
CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 2 – SUCCESS STUD CELEBRATING 56 YEARS OF BUSINESS 3YO TROTTERS FOUNDATION HEAT – 1609 metres
JACKIES GIFT – Leaving the 100 metres shifted in sharply and approaching the finish contacted a marker peg. JACKIES GIFT was placed on its chance to race truly. Driver G Forrest was advised that he must ensure that at all times have proper control of his runners when driving them out to the finish.
BERTINELLI – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
SECOND TO NUN – Approaching the 1200 metres had to be steadied and shifted away from ZIPPING VOLSTEAD when that runner shifted out and subsequently SECOND TO NUN became unbalanced and broke gait.
ZIPPING VOLSTEAD – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Approaching the 1200 metres shied and hung out. Driver W Rixon explained that the filly raced greenly throughout and lacked the required concentration at this stage of her career. A warning was issued. Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 3 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP 3YO TROTTERS FOUNDATION HEAT – 1609 metres
LUCIUS – Near the 1250 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
KENNYS SON – Approaching the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. In view of its recent record connections were advised that KENNYS SON would be stood down until it can complete one satisfactory trial.
VULCAN STRIDE – Approaching the 50 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
SAN JUAN MOUNTAIN – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ZARSKI – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Out of position at the start and shortly after the start became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
MONTY MONTE – Out of position at the start and will be continued to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 4 – MACARTHUR BULLS PACE – 1609 metres
CARIBBEAN RUNNA – Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 150 metres.
WILL I AM – Received pressure from OUR ULTIMATE JANE passing the 200 metres and shifted in slightly and subsequently received a contact to the near side sulky wheel. Driver R Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip to WILL I AM in more than a wrist only flicking motion on multiple occasions between the 150 metres and the 50 metres. R Morris was fined the sum of $200.
OUR ULTIMATE JANE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Leaving the 300 metres commenced to hang out and shifted out despite the efforts of its driver and approaching the 150 metres was bumped by WILL I AM which was racing to its outside and subsequently OUR ULTIMATE JANE broke gait. A warning was issued.
BIRDY GAL – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MICHAEL CAINE NZ – Out of position at the start. In view of its recent record connections were advised that MICHAEL CAINE NZ would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 100 metres.
RACE 5 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 1609 metres
VALIENTE HANOVER – Slow to begin.
WAT EVER YOU NEED – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Driver K Morris will be interviewed at a later date in respect to her whip use of WAT EVER YOU NEED at the finale 250 metres.
THERES WALLY – Over raced significantly during the middle stages after obtaining the lead. THERES WALLY was placed on its last chance race truly.
WATCH ME REACT – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
JOGALONG BLUE – Approaching the 1400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. Connections were advised that JOGALONG BLUE will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
ALWAYS A SAM – Shortly after the start became unbalanced and broke gait. ALWAYS A SAM will be continued to be placed right outside the mobile barrier draw for the immediate future.
RACE 6 – FARMER JOES OUTLET PACE – 1609 metres
PARALLEL – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
LOCHIEL NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MAJOR STATEMENT – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
CASH AND BLING – Weakened over the concluding stages.
RACE 7 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
PROTAGONIST – Failed to run on over the concluding stages. Trainer/driver J Grimson explained that at its most recent start PROTAGONIST was able to lead without a horse racing to its immediate outside which proved to be beneficial. He added that today’s event with a horse racing in relatively close proximity PROTAGONIST did not appreciate this and failed to run on. J Grimson said that he may look to send PROTAGONIST to Penrith or a more suitable venue for its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. J Grimson’s explanation was noted.
THE BIG END OFTOWN – Leaving the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
HEEZA MALTEEZA – Leaving the 600 metres had to be checked wider to avoid THE BIG END OFTOWN which had broken gait. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RIVERA LOU – Near the 550 metres was hampered when THE BIG END OFTOWN broke gait. RIVERA LOU then failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 46.5 metres. Driver W Rixon explained that after receiving a check at the 550 metres the colt never responded to his driving and failed to finish the race off as expected. He added that RIVERA LOU had been slightly disappointing at its most recent starts and connections may look to freshen the colt up prior to its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. W Rixon’s explanation was noted.
RACE 8 – MENANGLE COMMUNITY PACE – 1609 metres
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
GIVE ME A MINUTE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
HAIL LUCIUS NZ – Had limited racing room in the home straight an was not fully tested over the concluding stages.
DANCE AND DELIVER – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1100 metres. Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed irritation in the right eye due to track material. No veterinary recommendation was forthcoming.
