RACE 1 – BOURKES HORSE RUGS PACE – 1730 metres
TINTINS TREASURE – Post-race swab sample.
TAKE OUT – Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.
LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.
TULHURST TIMMY – Pre-race blood sample.
ABSOLUTE WEAPON – Hung in and contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn. Driver Jane Morris was cautioned for the manner in which she used her whip over the concluding stages.
RACE 2 – BEDWELLS FEEDBARN PACE – 1730 metres
GDANSK – Pre-race blood sample.
SWEET ADDITION NZ – Driver Amanda Turnbull was questioned in relation to her driving tactics and the overall performance of the mare, after beginning well and finding the lead she resisted a strong challenge from TENMINUTES from a point approaching the 1350 metres until approximately the 1100 metres at which point she restrained and took cover on TENMINUTES, SWEET ADDITION failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 25.7 metres. Ms Turnbull explained it was the intention of herself and connections to drive the mare forward in an attempt to hold the lead as they believed SWEET ADDITION races best when in front, however due to the pressure applied from TENMINUTES Ms Turnbull was unable to sustain the pressure and relinquished the lead. Given the circumstances Ms Turnbull wasn’t disappointed in the overall performance of SWEET ADDITION.
LUCKY PUNT – Broke after the start for which a warning was issued.
TENMINUTES – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned in relation to his driving tactics and the overall performance of the gelding, where after beginning fairly Mr Turnbull elected to press forward and challenge for the lead from a point approaching the 1350 metres until a point where he was able to find the front approaching the 1000 metres resulting in a 26.5 first quarter. The gelding then failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish into 4th position beaten 13.8 metres. Mr Turnbull stated he believed as his runner was $1.30 favourite, he would have been able to find the lead quite easily however was surprised when his challenge was resisted from SWEET ADDITION and as a result had to do more work than anticipated to find the lead. Mr Turnbull stated he felt his best chance in the event was to find the front and he wasn’t disappointed in the overall performance of the gelding. Mr Turnbull was also reminded of his obligations in relation to returning to the all clear when finishing in the first four positions, as well as his responsibilities in driving his horse out when still in contention over the concluding stages.
EXCESS VITALITY – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of LUCKY PUNT breaking gait.
POPS LEGACY – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – BCIT SOLUTIONS PACE – 1730 metres
TEARIN UP THE SAND - Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding where after leading the event TEARIN UP THE SAND failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 5th position beaten 7.2 metres. Mr Turnbull stated that the gelding did sustain some pressure in the early stages of the event however he was able to back the speed off through the second and third quarters and felt TEARIN UP THE SAND may have finished the race off better however wasn’t disappointed in the horse’s overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
CHELSEAS GIRL – Passing the 1300 metres was tightened and contacted marker pegs as a result of MISTERFOURTHOUSAND shifting down the track.
MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Driver Paula Sapio was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 1300 metres when shifting down the track was insufficiently clear of CHELSEAS GIRL resulting in that runner being tightened and contacting marker pegs.
ALWAYSBMYPONY – Post-race swab sample.
DEEBO – Trainer Nathan Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 273(5)(a) for presenting the horse to the parade ring with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
TERRYRAMA – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 4 – BATHURST TOYOTA PACE – 2260 metres
A TRUE LOVE – Approaching the 800 metres hung out and broke gait. In view of the overall racing manners of the filly A TRUE LOVE will be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
FAKE MINT – Inconvenienced passing the 800 metres as a result of A TRUE LOVE breaking gait.
TEE SWIFT – Checked and raced roughly passing the 800 metres as a result of A TRUE LOVE breaking gait.
HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Approaching the 700 metres broke gait free of interference. Considering the gelding’s overall record HARVEY HUGHES NZ will now be required to perform two requalifying trials and was stood down for a period of 14 days.
THE DOME – Checked passing the 800 metres as a result of A TRUE LOVE breaking gait.
IM LORD TOMMY – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample.
TASBMIKI – Three wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader at the 1750 metres.
PLAYBOI ROY – Checked at the 800 metres as a result of A TRUE LOVE breaking gait. Checked at the 700 metres as a result of HARVEY HUGHES NZ breaking gait. Passing the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued. Whilst in a gallop the off side front hopple loop of PLAYBOI ROY broke. An inspection of the gear found it to be of good quality.
RUNKLE – Pre-race blood sample. Checked passing the 800 metres as a result of A TRUE LOVE breaking gait.
RACE 5 – HYNASH GROUP PACE – 1730 metres
SHE THE DEVIL – Pre-race blood sample.
ECLIPSE LINE – Slow to begin from the mobile. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
OUR DICKIE BART – Over raced throughout the event.
HAZZA IS WATCHING – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Post-race swab sample.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
HALL MOST AN ANGEL – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 6 – BATHURST RSL PACE – 1730 metres
RIVERINA FLASH – Broke after the start and will now be excluded form the mobile barrier draw.
SCREENSHOT – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 1300 metres before working forward to the lead approaching the 1000 metres.
JUSTADIVA – Pre-race blood sample.
CHILLAX – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – TAB VENUE MODE @ BATHURST HRC LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres
TRUE LOGIC – Pre-race blood sample.
VALENTINI – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.
RIKIBREAL – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MAMMALS GIRL – Caught wide early before being restrained to a position in the running line passing the 1300 metres. Commenced to improve three wide from the 900 metres before finding the position outside the leader at the 700 metres. Driver Jye Coney was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the filly. Mr Coney stated it was his intention to drive the filly further forward however he was unable to find a position and as a result was restrained to the running line before electing to move three wide to a position outside the leader at which point the tempo of the event quickened which was to the detriment of MAMMALS GIRL. The filly was beaten 48.2 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
LADY ROCKABELLUM – Broke after the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts.
AMERICAN BOULEVARD – Driver Angela Hurst was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the home straight on the final occasion has allowed the mare to shift down the track when insufficiently clear of FLIRTS DIVA resulting in that runner being tightened.
FLIRTS DIVA – Approaching the home turn on the final occasion was placed into restricted room as a result of AMERICAN BOULEVARD shifting down the track.
RACE 8 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS MAIDEN PACE – 2260 metres
BOOMER SHANNON – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. Held up over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
DIXIE SHANNON – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres.
SERGEANT PEE JAY – Commenced to improve three wide at the 1250 metres before working forward to the lead passing the 950 metres.
JOHEMIAN – Pre-race blood sample.
RIVIERE – At the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw. Post-race swab sample.
SPRITE RAINBOW – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
