RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres
ARTFUL BABE – Driver G Panella was fined $50 under Rule 135(2) for presenting ARTFUL BABE onto the track after the prescribed time.
FIFTYSHADES CRESCO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
NOWORRIES – Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to lay in under pressure and proved difficult to drive. A warning was issued.
TAFL MOVE – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained.
HASLER – Entering the first turn was inclined to hang in and was caught wide before being restrained to the rear of the field.
HOT EMBERS – Near the 100 metres was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied when NOWORRIES shifted in. Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 2 – BARASTOC PACE – 1609 metres
WHERESTHEBOY – Passing the 300 metres had to be steadied and checked wider when BUNDLE OF NOTES broke gait.
NOTMUCHUPTOP – Near the 200 metres raced inside the line of two marker pegs. Driver J Gallagher was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(c)(i).
BETTOR BE LUCKY – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination under HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Post-race swab sample.
BUNDLE OF NOTES – Passing the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for a short distance. A warning was issued.
GUNFIGHTERSGHOST – Broke gait in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
EYES BEEN PATIENT – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 3 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres
TORQUE LIKE A LADY – Broke gait in the latter stage of the first score up and subsequently a false start was declared when POLISH PRINCE was checked. A warning was issued.
MYSTICAL SUNSHINE – Pre-race blood sample.
SECRET WISH – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1100 metres. Leaving the 700 metres was under pressure and commenced to weaken and failed to run on over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver D Morgan explained that he was confident pre-race and was hoping to cross to the lead. However, the false start was detrimental. He said that he worked forward during the early stages and the mare travelled well until the 700 metres. From that point SECRET WISH was flat and failed to respond to his driving.
BOOKER BAY – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the lead.
POLISH PRINCE – Inclined to race roughly over the final 900 metres and gave ground over the concluding stages. A warning was issued.
WAR WESTERN – Broke gait in the first score up prior to the false start being declared. Subsequently, WAR WESTERN will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 4 – COCO COLA PACE – 1609 metres
CALCULATING DANCER – Pre-race blood sample. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines as the gelding was having its first race start for over 12 months. Approaching the 600 metres commenced to weaken and gave ground over the concluding stages. Driver A Bourke explained that after making some use of the gelding in the early stages he commenced to over race and in his opinion, this was detrimental to his overall performance. A Bourke added the stable was relatively confident leading into today’s event given the gelding had won a recent trial. A Bourke’s explanation was noted however a warning was placed on CALCULATING DANCER.
A VAPAR STORM – Post-race swab sample.
MERCURIUS – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
RACE 5 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres
DOUBLE LINES – Shifted out over the final 100 metres. Driver G Panella was issued a Reprimand under Rule 162(1)(ww) for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent her runner from shifting ground.
MAGIC SHOOS – Pre-race blood sample.
TOUGH TALKS – Post-race swab sample.
MICHAEL CAINE NZ – Broke gait during the score up and was out of position at the start. Connections were advised MICHAEL CAINE NZ would continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
VAN SHARD NZ – Broke its number 2 hopple carrying strap shortly after the start. The gelding was inclined to hang in and race roughly throughout the event.
METRO MEMORY – Improved three wide leaving the 1200 metres before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. B Elder explained when the tempo in the running line was slowed near the 1300 metres he decided to improve quickly. He added that two starts earlier the gelding raced outside of the leader in a fast time and performed admirably. B Elder said that he was disappointed with the gelding’s failure to run on.
RACE 6 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres
KINGSTON RAINBOW – Over the final 150 metres was inclined to race roughly under pressure. A waring was issued.
KISSMELVIS – Post-race swab sample.
SLINGSHOT – Leaving the 150 metres shifted out when not quite clear of SHE MAYBE BETTOR resulting in that runner having to be steadied. Driver B Elder was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.
SHE MAYBE BETTOR – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 150 metres was placed awkwardly on the offside wheel of SLINGSHOT and had to be steadied away from that runner.
RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
ANGUS FINN NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward. Post-race swab sample.
ULTRA BLISS – Pre-race blood sample.
YESNOMAYBESO – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
MAJOR MEMPHIS NZ – Inclined to over race throughout the event.
