RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1680 metres
STUDLEIGH SUNRISE – Post-race swab sample.
SWEET SWEET TOOTH – Pre-race blood sample. Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
RACE 2 – LACHLAN VALLEY VET CLINIC PACE – 1680 metres
MONDOS REASON – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the gelding has not raced since 3 May 2024. No abnormalities were detected on this examination. Tired over the final 600 metres to be beaten 143 metres. Trainer/Driver N Hurst could give no reasonable explanation for the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery and as a result was stood down for a veterinary clearance and must also requalify on one occasion.
CALM REASON – Pre-race blood sample. Near the 700 metres was momentarily tightened, became unbalanced and broke stride.
GRANT FOR LEXY – Checked between the 600 metres and 400 metres when trailing MONDOS REASON who was yielding ground.
SERGEANT PEE JAY – Leaving the 700 metres had a tendency to race roughly and as a result has inconvenienced ROCKIN SWEET. A warning was issued.
ROCKIN SWEET – Raced roughly in the latter stages of the score up. Leaving the 700 metres was inconvenienced when trailing SERGEANT PEE JAY and as a result has hung in and tightened the racing room of CALM REASON which became unbalanced and broke stride. As no one horse or Driver could solely be to blame for this incident, no further action was taken.
TERRAGONG SWINGER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – D & A DETAILING PACE – 1680 metres
MITTYS THREE ACES NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
INGERMARLA – At the request of connections a pre-race warm up was approved.
ROSE OF JULIANA – Post-race swab sample.
BEACH ON FIRE – Caught racing three wide in the early and middle stages until being restrained to the tail of the field at the 1100 metres.
RACE 4 – MIDSTATE MACHINERY BROKERS LADYSHIP PACE – 1680 metres
OUR SAILOR – Broke stride in the score up and as a result caused a false start. A warning was issued.
THE MISSING SOCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
STUDLEIGH STARLITE – Broke stride in the score up on the first occasion. A warning was issued.
WARRAWEE FLYER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 5 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA GAFFNEY & TERRY ROBB PACE – 1680 metres
ROCK QUEEN – Pre-race blood sample.
PEAKSART – Negotiating the first turn shifted out slightly inconveniencing LENNOX BROMAC NZ.
WESTERN BILL – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
LENNOX BROMAC NZ – Negotiating the first turn was slightly inconvenienced, became unbalanced and broke stride. The gelding will be given its last turn to race truly.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 races. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
ALPHA XENA – Contacted its own sulky wheel and over raced in the early and middle stages.
RACE 6 – VC REID SMITH LIVESTOCK PACE – 2060 metres
TEESWIFT – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 1600 metres sulky checked when the pace in the running line eased. Driver M Rue was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which appeared to be slightly disappointing on market expectations. He stated when having to race three wide from the 600 metre the tempo in the race was increasing proving difficult for the gelding to make ground when racing wide. He further added TEESWIFT would be freshened up in the coming weeks.
RIVIERE – Approaching the 1600 metres was inconvenienced when the pace in the running line eased. Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the overall performance of the mare where it appeared to be under pressure throughout the event although finishing the race off satisfactorily. He stated he was happy with the overall performance but was of the opinion the mare is lacking race sense and as a result races off the bit throughout the race with him having to continually drive her along. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
KARINYA HAZ – Approaching the 1600 metres was checked when contacting the sulky of TEESWIFT when the pace in the running line eased. Post-race swab sample.
MAJOR ARK – Broke stride in the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. The mare will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
RACE 7 – TIM SMITH PAINTING PACE – 1680 metres
TULHURST ELVIS – Driver B Medlyn was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(c) (ii) in that when leaving the 500 metres has allowed his runner to contact marker peg and as a result a peg was dislodged checking CALA GRECA which broke stride.
CALA GRECA – Approaching the 500 metres raced roughly when a marker peg in advance became dislodged resulting in the gelding breaking stride. No action was taken.
DEEWHY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
REASON TO PARTY – Broke stride in the score up and as result was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
RACE 8 – THANK YOU FORBES DIGGERS HARNESS RACING COMMITTEE PACE – 2060 metres
BULLI BELLE – Pre-race blood sample.
NOSAER – Post-race swab sample.
