RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres
SKY CITY NZ - Pre-race sample was taken. Had a tendency to shift ground whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.
NEXT TO ME NZ - Tightened for racing room entering the first turn and locked wheels with SOME CHEVRON NZ which had progressed through from the second row and as a result, was checked and broke stride taking no competitive part in the event.
MCCRIKEY NZ - Checked as a field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run of the finish.
JOHNSON STEP NZ - Driver D Murphy was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after the start was affected closed down the track and momentarily restricted the racing room of NEXT TO ME NZ which hung in away and tightened the racing room on SOME CHEVRON NZ which was progressing through from the second row resulting in those runners locking wheels and being checked.
TERROR EYES NZ – Stewards queried driver R Morris in relation to the performance. R Morris explained that after making a move in the early stages to find a position outside of the leader hung in slightly on the turns and failed to travel genuine and was somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. R Morris passed on to connections some possible gear alterations which may improve its performance.
COLBY NZ - Post-race sample was taken.
SOME CHEVRON NZ – Checked on lock wheels shortly after the start was affected.
RACE 2 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - HUNTER HEAT ONE – 2030 metres
ROCKET BOY – Hampered racing down the home straight on the final occasion when whilst held up looking for a run to the inside of LOVE LOU.
MONDELLO BEACH - Pre-race sample was taken. Post-race sample was taken.
BE GOOD BENNY - Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
RACE 3 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - HUNTER HEAT TWO – 2030 metres
NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Driver, Joshua Gallagher was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when closing down the track entering the first turn restricted the racing room of FLARE UP.
ABSTRACT ART - Gave ground over the concluding stage to be beaten some distance.
GROSSO NASO - Pre-race sample was taken.
ROCK FISHERMAN – Checked as a field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners. Post-race sample was taken.
FLARE UP – Restricted for racing room as the field entered to the first turn.
RACE 4 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - HUNTER HEAT THREE – 2030 metres
RAINBOW JET - Pre-race sample was taken.
SALLY BIGTIME - Post-race sample was taken.
PEPPA BLISS – Hampered and race roughly entering the back straight on the first occasion as a result of the tempo easing into the event. Sustained a contact to the offside wheel leaving the back straight on the final occasion. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
LONGWINDINGROAD – Checked when trailing weakening runners rounding the final turn.
RACING PAULA - Contacted the offside wheel of PEPPA BLISS as the field left the back straight on the final occasion when manoeuvring three wide. In not taking any direct action stewards were mindful of PEPPA BLISS giving ground at that stage.
RACE 5 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - HUNTER HEAT FOUR – 2030 metres
LITTLE DEMON - Had a tendency to over race in the early middle stages of the event. Post-race sample was taken.
YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
ROCKTAGONAL - Trod on its near fore shoe as a field raced into the home straight on the final occasion and broke stride for a short distance. Post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormality. A warning was issued.
COOL NIGHT - Pre-race sample was taken.
HE SAID SHE SAID – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 6 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 1609 metres
LAMANDIER - Pre-race sample was taken.
DADNDAVE NZ - Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 7 – WALLSEND FOOTBALL CLUB PACE – 2030 metres
DE LA RENTA NZ - Weakened over the concluding stage to be beaten considerable distance. Post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised to be stood down until it can re-qualify on one occasion.
CAPTAIN GROOVE - Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure in the early stages of the run to the finish and sustained a contact to its offside wheel. A warning was issued. TRALEE MAXIE - Hampered shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish and held up for clear running. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver J Callaghan explained that when racing down the back straight on the final occasion was not traveling overly well and an opportunity presented to race along the market pegs. Shortly after shifting to that position his runner then picked up the bit and raced up onto the back of the leaders. He further added that he was of the opinion that the runner racing outside of the leader would have dropped off providing him an opportunity if able however this did not eventuate and was left racing held up for some distance prior to obtaining clear running inside the 100 metres. Stewards noted his comments.
EYE CAN TRY - Pre-race sample was taken. Post-race sample was taken.
APACHE BART - Stewards queried driver S Grima in relation to the performance. S Grima advised Stewards that after doing some work in the middle stages to find the position in the lead was somewhat disappointed in the performance. S Grima advised he would continue on with its preparation and look to find more suitable races.
DRAKAINA - Checked shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish as a result of racing to the outside of CAPTAIN GROOVE which had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure.
RACE 8 – SPEAK EASY SPEECH PATHOLOGY PACE – 1609 metres
DOUBLE SAID - Pre-race sample was taken. Had a tendency to over race in the early middle stages of the event.
OTIS RISING - Post-race sample was taken.
HEAVENLY SONG - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 9 – PROVINCIAL RACING NSW PACE – 1609 metres
SHALAMAR MISSS - Pre-race sample was taken.
WHENS LUNCH - Gave ground over the concluding stages and was beaten some distance.
SWEET ROCKY - Had a tendency to hang in and race roughly as the field negotiated the final turn.
LACHIES IDEAL - When questioned regarding the reasons for the hood not being released during the event driver C Formosa explained to Stewards that it was the instructions from connections for it not to be removed. Stewards confirmed these instructions with connections and also going back through the runner’s history where at its three wins the hood was not released. He further added that at its most recent start when the hood was released LACHIES IDEAL failed to run on over the concluding stages. Stewards advised connections that an alteration to the nominated gear should be amended with deafeners non removable being added.
ULTIMATE RHAPSODY - Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected taking a competitive part in the event. Connections were advised to be placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.
LOUIGI - Post-race swab sample was taken.
RACE 10 – THE TAB APP MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres
MIKI BE FREE - Pre-race sample was taken.
MIKI LEE - Post-race sample was taken.
TOKOLOSHE - Broke shot shortly after the start was affected. Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
ROCK AM ALYESKA - Checked shortly after the start was affected.
DOUBLE ADDITION - Hampered shortly after the start was affected. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
MISS ADONIS - Hampered shortly after the start was affected.
RONNIYS WATCHING - Broke stride as a field and negotiated the first turn. Connections were advised to be stood down until it can re qualify on one occasion.
FRANCOS DELIGHT - Broke stride shortly after the start was affected. Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
