TASMANS DELIGHT – Hung out during the score and was out of position at the start. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.
BENJIMAGEE – When being checked rounding the turn after the start was unable to avoid DOLLY MISS MOLLY which had galloped resulting in it locking wheels with DOLLY MISS MOLLY and N Kliendienst the driver being dislodged. BENJIMAGEE was subsequently captured by the clerk of the course and a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a superficial abrasion to its near side foreleg. Driver N Kliendienst was initially examined by the on-course paramedics, then displayed symptoms of delayed concussion and was transported to Tamworth Bas Hospital for observation. RACE 7 – MULTIQUIP COMMERCIAL HATCHERY PACE – 1609 metres
ADRENALINE RUSH – When questioned in relation to the performance trainer/driver Mr A Varga explained that following a recent let up in preparation, the mare had worked well, and a forward showing was expected. He said that it was his pre-race intention to lead, however after achieving this his drive was subject to constant pressure initially from JOHNSON STEP, then MY ROCK MOVES, which resulted in the mare weakening over the concluding stages, he added that considering all factors, he was pleased with the performance and providing recovery was satisfactory the preparation would be continued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
JOHNSON STEP NZ – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the early and middle stages driver C Griffiths explained that he had been instructed to lead if possible and drove with vigour in the early stages to achieve this. He said that despite his efforts he was unable to cross ADRENALIN RUSH and elected to race on its outside, then when a further challenge was issued by MY ROCK MOVES, his drive over raced and when eventually obtaining cover behind that runner it was reluctant to settle. He said that this was the reason that when pressured for its finishing effort the gelding only responded moderately.
LUCKY BEACH BOY – Trainer/driver Mr T Ison pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(b)(i), stating that approaching the designated marker peg where runners can be manoeuvred from their established line, he shifted out and forced JOHNSON STEP NZ wider on the track resulting in that runner covering extra ground. T Ison’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence on 8 July 2025 and expire on 16 July 2025 on which day he may drive. Post-race swab sample.
