RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres

BLISSES BEST – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres and was then taken wider by RED SAPPHIRE when that runner shifted out under pressure. Post-race swab sample.

RED SAPPHIRE – Improved three wide during the early stages until crossing to the position outside the leader. Leaving the 150 metres shifted out and continued to shift out in the home straight. Driver B Portelli was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(i) for  shifting ground and impeding another runner.  

 

RACE 2 – STARZ GAME SHOW SATURDAYS @ CLUB PACEWAY 7.30PM PACE – 1720 metres

LOCKITINEDDY – Pre-race blood sample.

EYEKNOW – Post-race swab sample.

BOBBY WATERHOUSE NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MICHAEL CAINE NZ – Out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw in the immediate future.

 

RACE 3 – DOGS IN THE PARK @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND JULY 6 PACE – 1720 metres

IDEAL REDEMPTION – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKSIE ROCK – Post-race blood sample.

WHEREISHE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

THE BEST OF YOU - Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

BETTER HARLEY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg which required veterinary treatment. Adopting the veterinary recommendations, BETTER HARLEY was stood down for a period of 7 days and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted.

 

RACE 4 – PAUL ATTARD MEMORIAL – 1720 metres

NOTSOKOOL – Post-race swab sample.

ABDICATE NZ – Permission was given to the connections of ABDICATE NZ to race the gelding bare in front.

WHYIMAN – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ - Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

LOCHIEL NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 5 – PENRITH SHOW TICKETS ON SALE NOW PACE – 1720 metres

ALTA MAGACIAN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

STORMTIDE – Had difficulty securing clear running until approaching the 50 metres.

SPIRIT OF ARION NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 6 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 metres

LORD MEMNOCK – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

GREY CADILLAC – Improved three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1700 metres.

CHARLIES ACE – Pre-race blood sample.

EYE CAN TRY – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 50 metres.

GOTTADOBETTOR – Had difficulty securing clear running in the latter stages and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 7 – MULGOA RD JAZZ @ CLUB PACEWAY JULY 6 PACE – 1720 metres

DEWDROPS – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines as the mare was having its first race start since 11 January 2024. Commenced to weaken approaching the 400 metres and gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 75 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities however the mare was exhibiting an elevated heart rate. Driver J Gallagher was unable to provide an explanation for the performance. Connections were advised DEWDROPS would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.

MISS ALOHA – Passing the 200 metres was held up for clear running then shifted out to obtain a run between LASER STRIDE and THE DEVILS FLAME which was shifting in. Subsequently MISS ALOHA contacted the near side wheel of THE DEVILS FLAME and raced roughly. Driver D Murphy was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that he drove where there was insufficient room to do so.

LASER STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample. Leaving the 150 metres commenced to shift out under pressure. Driver Z Fitzpatrick was advised to exercise greater care when driving her horses out over the concluding stages and was reminded to ensure she maintains a relatively straight course in the home straight. Post-race swab sample.

HES MY REASON – Out of position at the start. HES MY REASON was placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Leaving the 400 metres was checked and held up behind the tiring DEWDROPS.

THE DEVILS FLAME – Leaving the 200 metres when closing down from a three wide position  received significant contact to the near side sulky wheel from MISS ALOHA and subsequently Driver W Rixon was momentarily unbalanced.

MIGHT AND VICTORY – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 8 – KIDS BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY JULY 8 & 15 PACE – 1720 metres

CHOOCHOO TRAIN – Shortly after the start commenced to hang out and leaving the 1600 metres made contact with the near side sulky wheel of WILD CARD NZ which laid in slightly. Subsequently CHOOCHOO TRAIN raced roughly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was issued.

WILD CARD NZ – Leaving the 1600 metres laid in slightly at the same time as CHOOCHOO TRAIN hung out and subsequently WILD CARD NZ made slight contact with CHOOCHOO TRAIN. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

DILETTO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Driver J Farrugia was cautioned for applying his whip to his runner when it was clear that the gelding was out of contention and was failing to respond over the final 300 metres. In not taking any further action Stewards were mindful of J Farrugia’s relative inexperience.

LANI KAI BEACH - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines and no abnormalities were detected.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines and no abnormalities were detected.
