RACE 1 – MAGUIRES ACCOUNTANTS PACE – 1758 metres

BIDGEE BABE – Pre-race blood sample. Broke shortly after the start for which a warning was issued.

THE CLOCK WINDER – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of BIDGEE BABE breaking gait. Approaching the 750 metres hung in and raced roughly.

SHAKEN SANDS – Checked after the start as a result of BIDGEE BABE breaking gait.

ALWAYSATTHEBEACH – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of BIDGEE BABE breaking gait.

MEGS MONARO – Driver James Locke was questioned in regards to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Mr Locke explained MEGS MONARO was only having it’s third start for the stable and had been working well. The gelding was also afforded a soft run in the race being in the one one position. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – NSWOA – FIRST PAST THE POST BONUS PACE – 2147 metres

HUDSON RIVER – Trainer/Driver Jackson Painting was questioned in regards to the seemingly below market expectation performance of the gelding having started at $1.33 fav. Mr Painting explained the gelding over raced slightly and contacted its own sulky. He further added HUDSON RIVER travelled well until it was placed under pressure and at that stage failed to find an effort and as a result gave ground to be beaten 27.5 metres. Mr Painting further advised the gelding’s future in his stable would be reviewed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to find any obvious abnormalities.

ROLL TO THE TOP – Pre-race blood sample.

HEAVENS BIRDGIRL – Post-race swab sample.

SHES BELIEVABLE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 61.3 metres. As a result the mare will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

DOLLAR BROWNIE – Driver James Locke was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the filly. Mr Locke explained that after working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres the filly travelled well until approaching the 400 metres where DOLLAR BROWNIE commenced to tire. Mr Locke could offer no further explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. As a result of the performance the filly will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 3 – SYMTEK ELECTRICAL PACE – 1758 metres

GLAMOUR FOX – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

THE BANKER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Commenced to improve three wide at the 1300 metres before working forward to a position outside the leader at the 1150 metres. Post-race swab sample.

SPECIAL MEANING – Restrained in the early stages of the event and from that point on failed to race competitively and as a result tired badly from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained atrial fibrillation and acting on veterinary advice, SPECIAL MEANING will be stood down for a period of 14 days, an ECG, 1 trial and a veterinary certificate.

FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. Took no further part in the event.

 

RACE 4 – FRANKIE’S PIZZA PACE – 1758 metres

GLAMORS SYMBOL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

PADDY MACH - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse being in excess of 12 years of age. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Driver James Locke was cautioned for the manner in which he used the whip over the concluding stages. Pre-race blood sample.

LITTLE COOL – Caught three wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1100 metres.

BILLEES JET – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

CHOCOLATE DELIGHT – Post-race swab sample.

LOYOLA GOLF – Pre-race blood sample.

HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ – In the early part of the score up hung out and contacted the outside fence dislodging Driver George Lee and as a result a false start was declared. Before the restart of the event HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ was examined by the vet and was passed fit to take its place in the field. Paramedics also cleared Driver George Lee. HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ was issued a warning for its starting manners.

 

RACE 5 – WASHINGTON’S FURNITURE PACE – 1758 metres

MURPHYS REWARD NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jackson Painting was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the gelding. Mr Painting felt the gelding had its chance in front however was disappointing over the concluding stages to be beaten 24.6 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ROCK THE NATION NZ – It was reported post-race the gelding sustained a broken offside connecting strap.

BOLANALONG – Driver Blake Jones was issued a cautioned for the manner in which he used his whip passing the 400 metres.

SPECTA – Hung in under pressure rounding the final turn.

SMOKIN POCKET – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – GLENLEE CELLARS PACE – 1758 metres

MIAMI SURF – Rounding the final turn was placed into restricted room and contacted marker pegs as a result of REASON TO LAUGH which was racing three wide hanging in at that stage.

REASON TO LAUGH – Pre-race blood sample. Hung in under pressure placing MIAMI SURF and ULTIMATE ME NZ into restricted room. Post-race swab sample.

ULTIMATE ME NZ – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1500 metres. Placed into restricted room approaching the 200 metres as a result of REASON TO LAUGH hanging in under pressure.

SHERMAN – Pre-race blood sample. Passing the 600 metres hung in and raced roughly.

DIDNT I – Approaching the 200 metres jumped a dislodged peg which had been contacted by MIAMI SURF and raced roughly.

ARTIMOS – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts.

YOO TRISH – At the request of connections the mare will now be reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – L & D BOWLING CLUD PACE – 2147 metres

AWAY GAME – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres. Post-race swab sample.

TOMMYS DREAM GIRL – Driver Bayley Duck was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) for forcing BIG COOL wider prior to the designated marker peg when MISS VEGAS was commencing to tire.

JUNGLE SHARK - Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1650 metres.

BIG COOL – Hung in and contacted marker pegs in the early stages of the event. Approaching the 700 metres was inconvenienced when TOMMYS DREAM GIRL forced that runner wide.

MISS VEGAS – Driver Jackson Painting was questioned in regards to the overall performance of MISS VEGAS. Mr Painting explained the mare had a tendency to race keenly early and as a result he elected to work forward however MISS VEGAS continued to over race and in his opinion he felt the mare had choked down to be beaten 275 metres. Mr Painting further added he would review the future of MISS VEGAS in his racing stable. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. In view of the performance of MISS VEGAS it was stood down for one requalifying trial.

MAJOR TRANSPARENCY – At the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2147 metres

MISTER BOOMBASTIK – Post-race swab sample.

MIKI LOCH – Pre-race blood sample.

SHOULDBETWOBYTWO – Three wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1500 metres. Approaching the 600 metres was checked and raced roughly as a result of ALIGHIERI giving ground. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

KRISTYSGIRL – Driver Jamie Hogan was questioned in regard to his driving tactics. Mr Hogan stated that passing the 1500 metres the pace in the event eased and the horse in the position outside the leader (MIKI LOCH) was hanging back some distance and Mr Hogan elected to move forward however when he moved forward approaching the 1200 metres it was apparent MIKI LOCH was intending to hold the position outside the leader and KRISTYSGIRL was obliged to race in a three wide position for the remainder of the event.

YOUNG NELSON – Approaching the 600 metres raced roughly. Approaching the 300 metres was checked as a result of ALIGHIERI giving ground. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

ALIGHIERI – Gave ground rounding the final turn. Had a tendency to hang out under pressure.

SOUNDS TREACHEROUS – Inconvenienced as a result of ALIGHIERI giving ground passing the 300 metres.
