RACE 1 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 1609 metres
WALLAROY BOY – examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event and in particular whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. Post race sample was taken.
GLENTLE GIANT NZ – Pre race sample was taken.
RACE 2 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres
MACS TOMADO NZ – Pre race sample was taken. Post race sample was taken.
EYES BEEN PATIENT –
WHAT FOR – Broke the near side connecting strap racing down the back straight on the final occasion and as a result broke stride leaving the back straight. No action was taken. Stewards inspected the gear and found it to be of suitable quality.
BETTOR BE LUCKY – examined pre- and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
SAFE JEWELS – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
THE MALDIVES – examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 3 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres
IRE OF THE DRAGON – Pre race sample was taken. Tightened for racing room when entering the first turn and contacted the sulky of BREXITT. Hampered approaching the 100 metres. Post race veterinary examination revealed superficial laceration to the near side hind leg.
UNCLE GREGORY – post race sample was taken
BREXITT – sustained a flat tyre after contact to the near side wheel rounding the first turn.
GUNFIGHTERSGHOST – when questioned regarding the performance driver L Sutton explained that due to the early tempo was obliged to be restrained to the rear of the field and failed to travel genuine from that point and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised a warning would be issued
ROCKNROLL CLARRY – Driver J Osborn was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when shifting wider approaching the 100 metres inconvenienced the running of IRE OF THE DRAGON.
SLINGSHOT – examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Was hampered rounding the final turn when trailing weakening runners. Upon entry to the home straight on the final occasion broke stride. A warning was issued.
RACE 4 – PAC INSURANCE BROKER PACE – 1609 metres
MAGIC SHOOS – Post race sample was taken.
SPEARHEAD – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
JACKS UP – examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Stewards advised driver B Hughes to show greater care in that prior to entering the home straight on the final occasion resisted a jostle challenge from DEECEE ROCKIN and continued for some distance in a manner that could have caused interference.
DEECEE ROCKIN – Driver A Ruggari was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages of the event did so with a free hand away from the rein. Driver A Ruggari was advised to take greater care in that when engaging in a jostle with JACKS UP entering the home straight on the final occasion did so with force that had the potential to cause interference.
SHADOW ECLIPSE – examined pre and post race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Pre race sample was taken.
RACE 5 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres
ROGERVALERIO LOMBO – Pre race sample was taken.
REDS GOOD TO GO – contacted marker pegs as the field negotiated the final turn post-race sample was taken.
STICK MAN NZ – Driver B Elder was fined the some of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages of the event employed an action which engaged the shoulder.
BO DUKE NZ – held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
RACE 6 – WOLF BLASS PACE – 1609 metres
OTIS RISING – Gave ground over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten some distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed an abscess to have burst in the near side hind leg. Connection were advised it would be stood down from racing for a period of 10 days.
MAGIC MATTEO – Post race sample was taken.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH – examined pre and post race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
LUCKY BEACH BOY – Pre race sample was taken. Hampered as the field rounded the final turn when trailing weakening runners. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
OHWHATIWOULD GIVE – Pre race sample was taken.
IDEAL MONDO – When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver P Hedges explained that the gelding may have not appreciated the quick back up. P Hedges was advised to inform stewards if anything was
MISS OUT – was held up in the early stages of the home straight on the final occasion and gained clear running approaching the 100 metres.
YESNOMAYBESO – examined pre and post race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Driver J Gallagher was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 168(1)(a) in that when rounding the final turn shifted wider and contacted the off side wheel of HEZA PLAYER NZ resulting in a puncture.
