RACE 1 – POPPA'S FUDGE FACTORY WARATAH HEAT – 1720 metres

 

MAJOR HUSS – Driver P McRae was queried in relation to the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated that he was not too disappointed with its effort, felt it was up in class tonight on its previous run and was left somewhat flat footed when the pace went on with the way the race was run.

IM BELIEBER – Hung-in entering the first turn and at various stages throughout the race, for which a warning was issued. Trainer/Driver M Hardy was queried in relation to the below market expectations performance of the gelding; he stated that it was inclined to hang-in throughout which effected it and would look to correct that prior to its next start. He added that it can take a few starts to get going after being given a let-up prior to its last start. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

LEXYS ON SONG – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

JILLIBY SAFFRON – Inconvenienced behind the tiring MAJOR HUSS near the 400 metres.

BETTES BLUE VIOLET – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 2 – SWSBANK 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

 

HEZA NEEDY – Fractious during the early part of the score-up, and slow to begin, for which a warning was issued. Raced roughly approaching the 1400 metres, hung-in leaving the 1200 metres, given the gelding’s record, connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

MONDO GLITZ – Pre-race swab sampled.

HESKOALATEE – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

JASPERSTIMETOSHINE – Post-race swab sampled.

LA FEAST – Over-raced while being restrained form the back of HEZA NEEDY in the early stages of the event.

IM HERE TO PARTY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

MAMMALS BLAZE – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

 

RACE 3 – TURNERS FURNITURE ONE PACE – 1720 metres

 

FLEXI BET – Pre-race swab sampled.

CAPITALLEE – Severely checked and broke gait leaving the 800 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait.

BETTING ON COURAGE – Broke gait free of interference leaving the 800 metres, approaching the 400 metres and again approaching the 100 metres, connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

COMPLICATED – Hung-in rounding the final turn and tired over the concluding stages. A post-race Veterinary examination, revealed the mare to be lame in the off-hind leg. Connections were advised that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness for the mare prior to its next race start.

LOGAN REASON – Checked and broke gait leaving the 800 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait.

FINANCIALLY STABLE – Checked and broke gait leaving the 800 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait. Checked approaching the 400 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait. Inconvenienced near the 100 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait.

TUKURUA – Checked leaving the 800 metres when BETTING ON COURAGE broke gait. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 4 – ARMA INSURANCE BROKERS PACE – 2100 metres

 

ARTS FELLA – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

MILLYANO – Pre-race swab sampled. Over-raced while leading in the early stages of the event. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

MISS TIGER – Hung-out rounding the turn leaving the 1600 metres, for which a warning was issued. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

YOUNG NELSON – Checked leaving the 1600 metres when MISS TIGER hung-out. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

ELITE GEORGE – Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 5 – AUSTRALIAN HOTEL PACE – 1720 metres

 

DORRISTOPAYTHEBILL – Post-race swab sampled.

ALABAMA LIONESS – Hung-in after the start. Hung-in entering and rounding the first turn, as a result THANKS BE TO GOD contacted its sulky wheel, for which a warning was issued. Checked near the 1200 metres when ARTEMIS MISSION broke gait.

ARTEMIS MISSION – Pulled hard in the early stages of the event. Driver M Hardy was issued with a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that near the 1200 metres while trying to restrain he shifted the mare in when not sufficiently clear of TITIWHA and contacted that runners sulky wheel resulting in the mare breaking gait, in assessing the incident Stewards were mindful of the mare’s racing manners. Retired from the race approaching the 600 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed her to be suffering from a poor post-race recovery. Driver M Hardy reported that the mare was making a loud breathing noise, and he believed she had choked down. Connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

THANKS BE TO GOD – Entering the first turn, jostled for a position in the running line with ROLL TO THE TOP when both runners were attempting to obtain the same position. A short distance later after ROLL TO THE TOP was eased to stop the jostling, shifted out slightly and contacted the sulky wheel of ALABAMA LIONESS when that runner also hung in, and was checked and broke gait. Driver J Ponsonby was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.

TITIWHA – Sulky wheel contacted by ARTEMIS MISSION near the 1200 metres.

ROLL TO THE TOP – Entering the first turn, jostled for a position in the running line with THANKS BE TO GOD when both runners were attempting to obtain the same position, and was inconvenienced.

FOREVER ONTHE PUNT – Pre-race swab sampled. Inconvenienced near the 400 metres when held up for clear running when racing inside THANKS BE TO GOD and on the back of TULHURST TIMMY.

 

RACE 6 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 1720 metres

 

SOLVE THE CRIME – Galloped out at the start for which a warning was issued.

BARKWAY THOMAS – Hung-in during the score-up and after the start for which a warning was issued. Checked and broke gait approaching the 1000 metres when JILLIBY MOON broke gait.

FATHERSDAYSURPRISE – Out of position at the start and inconvenienced after the start when SOLVE THE CRIME broke gait.

SLIPALONG SAINT – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

JILLIBY MOON – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1000 metres, connections were advised the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

OLIVER SHARK – Inconvenienced during the score-up when BARKWAY THOMAS hung-in and was out of position at the start.

 

RACE 7 – SOUTHWEST TRACTORS PACE – 1720 metres

 

BLUES TERROR – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

SOMEBODYS GIRL – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

ONE HORN BILLY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1720 metres

 

IDEAL WITCH – Post-race swab sampled.

TIZ A REASON – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

MIKIS CASTLE – Hung-out approaching the 800 metres. Broke gait free of interference leaving the 600 metres, given it was the filly’s first race start connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

PAD THAI – Checked leaving the 600 metres when MIKIS CASTLE broke gait.

OUR ULTIMATE ELLA – Out of position at the start. Driver M Towers was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring the filly up into position behind the barrier at the start. Sulky wheel contacted by TINNYSMEDAD near the 200 metres.

TINNYSMEDAD – Checked leaving the 600 metres when MIKIS CASTLE broke gait. Hung-out near the 200 metres, for which a warning was issued, as a result contacted the sulky wheel of OUR ULTIMATE ELLA.

ARTFUL DOLLAR – Pre-race swab sampled.
