Mr Hart and Darren Binskin, the trainer of OUR SADIE KAY after having reviewed the films advised Stewards they wished to exercise their right to lodge a protest against the winner of the event THE ANSWER alleging interference over the final 150 metres. After taking evidence from Michael Stanley, the driver of THE ANSWER, Cameron Hart, the driver of OUR SAYDIE KAY and Darren Binskin the trainer of OUR SAYDIE KAY it was established that passing the 150 metres OUR SAYDIE KAY had been shifted off the back of THE ANSWER and established running to the outside of that runner and whilst THE ANSWER gradually shifted up the track from that point no interference was caused to OUR SAYDIE KAY until a point passing the 75 metres where THE ANSWER appeared to shy at the semaphore and shift out abruptly checking OUR SAYDIE KAY causing both runners to briefly lock wheels as a result of the incident causing Mr Hart to have to stop driving his runner for some period of time. After considering the evidence of all parties, Stewards determined that had the interference not occurred OUR SAYDIE KAY would have finished in front of THE ANSWER and subsequently upheld the protest.
