RACE 1 – RAGING BULL STANDING AT COOTAMUNDRA PACE – 2170 metres

 

ALWAYS BE BRENDAN – Post-race swab sampled.

GO COLOUR MY WORLD NZ – Hung-in, raced roughly and then broke gait leaving the 400 metres, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and would be required to perform 2 re-qualifying trials.

MODERN SHEEN – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 2 – TAB.COM PACE – 1770 metres

 

TAPANGA MISS – Tightened for room when racing to the inside of CHARGING BULL entering the first turn, when that runner shifted-in. Inconvenienced behind the tiring CHARGING BULL leaving the 400 metres, and held up for clear running until entering the home straight.

CHARGING BULL – Pre-race swab sampled. Driver S Piltz was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 1600 metres he shifted the gelding in when not sufficiently clear of TAPANGA MISS which was tightened for room.

PENCIL ME IN – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, and was cleared to start. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

MICTON MOUSE – Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 1770 metres

 

WALLY BLASTER – Hung-in rounding the home turn and as a result contacted a marker peg near the 200 metres.

TUFFASOLDBOOTS – Pre-race swab sampled. Sulky wheel contacted by WAVES OF CHANCE near the 1400 metres.

COOGEE – Hung-out near the 600 metres. Driver D Cernovskis was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(3) for half-carting after leaving the 600 metres until near the 400 metres, as a result FOREVER ONTHE PUNT was inconvenienced.

FATHERSDAYSURPRISE – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.

WAVES OF CHANCE – Hung-in near the 1400 metres and contacted the sulky wheel of TUFFASOLDBOOTS. Post-race swab sampled.

FOREVER ONTHE PUNT – Inconvenienced when racing three wide as a result of COOGEE half carting after leaving the 600 metres until near the 400 metres.

 

RACE 4 – IRON HORSE EQUINE ARTHRSYN PACE – 1770 metres

 

BRACKEN WARRIOR – Broke gait during the latter part of the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Inconvenienced leaving the 400 metres when KOWHAI BLAZE NZ hung-in.

ELECTRA GIRL – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

ARK ALERT – Pre-race swab sampled. Over-raced during the early stages of the event.

UNCLE JAY – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 13 years old and it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start. Checked during the latter part of the score-up when BRACKEN WARRIOR broke gait and as a result was checked and broke gait. Prior to the all-clear being given, Stewards reviewed the footage of the start and subsequently acting under Rule 15(t) declared the horse a non-runner as they were of the view that it had been denied the opportunity of a fair start. UNCLE JAY was officially withdrawn at 8.07pm.

MAJOR ALLEGIANCE – Post-race swab sampled.

ROCK STEADY – Out of position at the start, connections were advised that it would continue to be placed outside the draw in mobile start races. Over-raced during the early stages of the event.

 

RACE 5 – IRON HORSE EQUINE ANTOXIFLAM PACE – 1770 metres

 

WEENEEDDREAMS – Driver S Adams momentarily dropped from her foot from the sulky rest near the 200 metres.

SAPPHIRESNDIAMONDS – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ – Sulky wheel contacted by OUR ULTIMATE BONNY approaching the 400 metres after it shifted down the track after it had been shifted wider, where it sustained a flat tyre. The tyre became fouled in the wheel pacing it at a disadvantage. Took fright when going off the track and made contact with the fence near the stabling area. A Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have a small cut to its withers. Driver O Shea was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared of any serious injuries.

PADDY MACH – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 12 years old and it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

OUR ULTIMATE BONNY – Contacted the sulky wheel of HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ approaching the 400 metres, when that runner shifted-in. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

 

RACE 6 – GLEN MIA (ACT) SADDLERY 3YO PACE – 1770 metres

 

BOUND FOR TROUBLE – Post-race swab sampled.

FLY OVER STATES – Pre-race swab sampled. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

YOUNG NELSON – Inconvenienced approaching the 800 metres when ITZ BAD shifted out.

ITZ BAD – Shifted out approaching the 800 metres, at a subsequent inquiry Driver J Locke reported that the gelding was pulling very hard and he was concerned that it was going to improve up on to the back of the runner ahead of him. Given the circumstances connections were advised the gelding would be placed on its last chance to race truly. J Locke was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 800 metres he shifted the gelding out when not sufficiently clear of YOUNG NELSON which was inconvenienced.

 

RACE 7 – IRON HORSE EQUINE REPLENISHA PACE – 1770 metres

 

KERVONBEL – Checked from behind the tiring SOCIAL STATUS near the 600 metres. Raced roughly leaving the 400 metres, connections were advised the filly would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

BLUFOX – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in over 12 months, and cleared to start. Declared a late scratching under Rule 141(4) at 9.18pm after breaking in the score-up at the first and second attempt to start the race, causing two false starts. Connections were advised that the mare would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races, and it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial. Stewards announced that bets on that runner were to be refunded and successful bets placed prior to the scratching time would be subject to deductions of 9 cents in the dollar for win and 10 cents in the dollar for place bets.

SOCIAL STATUS – Broke gait during the score-up at the third attempt to start the race and a false start was declared, given the mare’s record connections were advised that it would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races. Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event. Tired over the concluding stages and beaten by a considerable margin. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the gelding would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

STELLA MACH – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the fourth attempt to start the race after it became fractious behind the mobile barrier, and was cleared to start.

BARKWAY THOMAS – Tired over the concluding stages of the event.

SYENITE – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced roughly after the start. Post-race swab sampled.

ONE STUNIN MELODY – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

EYES FOR DOLLARS – Tired over the concluding stages of the event.

 

RACE 8 – IRON HORSE EQUINE NUTRITION 2YO PACE – 1770 metres

 

General – Due to the multiple false starts in the previous race, this race was re-scheduled to 9.56pm.

MINOR PREMIER – Pre-race swab sampled.

STINSON – Post-race swab sampled.

CAPTAIN PINNACLE – Raced roughly during the latter part of the score-up and galloped out at the start for which a warning was issued. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Raced roughly and broke gait leaving the 600 metres, for which a warning was issued.

CEEJAY HAICH – Trainer/Driver S Hewitt was queried regarding the below market expectations performance of the filly; he stated that he wasn’t too disappointed with its run. He added that it touched its knee rounding the first turn and was hoping to obtain cover but got left facing the breeze when STINSON took cover on the marker pegs which didn’t really suit his filly. He further added that it was his intention to spell the filly following tonight’s run.

IM NO STRANGER – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.
