RACE 1 – YIRRIBBE PACING STUD PACE – 2270 metres
CHEEZ – Driver Ky Bloomfield was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding, after racing behind the leader for most of the event CHEEZ tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 53.7 metres. Mr Bloomfield stated the gelding travelled well until the 800 metres at which point CHEEZ commenced to tire. Mr Bloomfield felt the overall performance of the gelding was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor recovery. In view of the performance a warning was issued.

ROCK THE NATION NZ – Driver George Lee was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(iii) for allowing the gelding to shift wider on the track approaching the home turn allowing MOP NZ to obtain an inside run before the sprint lane was available to that runner.

RACE 2 – RAGING BULL NZ @ SOUTH WEST SLOPES COOTAMUNDRA PACE – 2270 metres
MARLO MAREAU - Pre-race blood sample. Over raced throughout the event. Held up entering the home straight before gaining clear running approaching the 100 metres.
SYENITE – Raced roughly under pressure.
FOURTH RESPONSE – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – RANVET PACE – 2270 metres
ISLA ROCHELLE - Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RENROW BOY – Hung in under pressure.
PUKUNUI BEACH NZ – Raced roughly under pressure.
RACE 4 – RIVERINA CRANE SERVICES 2YO PACE – 1740 metres
HAYCHARLI – Approaching the 200 metres was carried wider on the track as a result of TROUBLE IN ME hanging out under pressure resulting in HAYCHARLI being checked and locking with DEMBE.

DEMBE - Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 200 metres was checked as a result of TROUBLE IN ME hanging out and carrying HAYCHARLI up the track and as a result locked wheels with HAYCHARLI.
SEASIDE SID – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 5 – RIVERINA HOTEL PACE – 1740 metres
KOBES CHAINSAW - Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Driver Bruce Harpley regarding the way he drove the gelding out over the final 50 metres of particular concern to the Stewards was inside the final 30 metres when racing in third position Mr Harpley appeared to stop driving his runner forward to be beaten into fourth position by a short half head. Mr Harpley explained the gelding’s tendency to hang out resulted in him placing in significant pressure to the inside rein to keep his runner down the track and he felt the gelding’s run had come to an end. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the off-hind leg and as a result KOBES CHAINSAW has been stood down pending a veterinary certificate of clearance. After considering the evidence, Stewards couldn’t be satisfied that had Mr Harpley continued to drive the gelding out with the same vigour that KOBES CHAINSAW would have finished third however reminded Mr Harpley of his obligations to drive his runners out to the finish.

OTTOS WEALTH – Broke on the first turn for which a warning was issued.
UNCLE JAY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the horse is in excess of 12 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either occasion.
RACE 6 – SOUTHWEST STOCKFEEDS LADYSHIP PACE – 1740 metres
DOVE LAKE - Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
WE DEALIN DIAMONDS – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
BUBBY TO BASE – Driver George Lee was cautioned regarding his whip use in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 7 – THE TAB APP WARATAH HEAT – 1740 metres
WIPEOUT – Driver Matthew Atkinson was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding and his driving tactics, of particular concern of the Stewards was his decision to hold the position outside the leader in the early stages of the event and giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 21.3 metres. Mr Atkinson explained when MESSERATI found the lead he felt that gelding may have been looking for cover and as a result worked forward of WHILEMENA RITA who was racing in a three wide position however, shortly after it became apparent the lead was unavailable at which point Mr Atkinson commenced to restrain and the gelding which commenced to over race. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Atkinson.

RACE 8 – VALE LEO SULLIVAN – 1740 metres
CAPTAIN RIVAL – Trainer/Driver Jackson Painting was questioned into the above market expectation performance of CAPTAIN RIVAL having started at $151. Mr Painting explained that being third up from an extended break, the gelding’s fitness levels had improved, and he was able to take advantage of a soft 59.7 first half mile while racing three back on the marker line. Mr Painting stated he expects further improvement from today’s run. Post-race swab sample.
