Driver P McRae reported that he was a bit disappointed with the mare’s run tonight with her hanging-in from after leaving the 800 metres, although he added that she is probably not suited facing the breeze outside the leader. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Driver R Coelli was queried regarding the performance he stated that he was disappointed with its effort tonight, added that it travelled okay until it dropped the bit near the 800 metres and he was unable to get it to respond to his urgings. Connections were advised that given the gelding’s record it would be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and would be required to perform 2 re-qualifying trials prior to resuming racing.
WEENEEDDREAMS – Tired over the concluding stages. Driver S Adams was questioned regarding the performance and her tactics adopted with the mare, in particular if she considered surrendering her position outside the leader to BEAU BROWN when it improved to her outside leaving the 1000 metres given the work they had done in the early stages of the event. S Adams stated that the mare had been working very well leading up to the race and in the past it had switched off when getting cover in similar circumstances so was content to hold that position. She added that she was disappointed with its run. Connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.
