WHO IS ALAN – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.  Over the final 600 metres the gelding was inclined to race roughly and passing the 300 metres was hampered by CAPTAIN COLBY when that runner was checked and broke gait.

However, in her opinion, she did err on this occasion.  M Hawke added that in her haste to get the gelding into its correct barrier position she had caused the gelding to over race and it was not her intention pre-race to go forward. However, she was left with no option but to adopt this tactic in the early stages to its intractability.  M Hawke said that the use she made of ROCK STEADY in the middle and latter stages of the score up combined with her inability to get the gelding to settle afterwards, had contributed to his poor performance.  M Hawke’s explanation was noted and M Hawke was advised that in the opinion of the Stewards her drive lacked judgement however, was not blameworthy to the requisite standard to take the matter any further.  ROCK STEADY was stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.

CRACKABRIE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

RACE 8 – GOULBURN SOLDIERS CLUB PACE – 2240 metres

INDI AIR TONIGHT – Tired significantly over the concluding stages.  Connections were advised that INDI AIR TONIGHT would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
