RACE 1 – HVHRA PACE – 2422 metres

GENERALGIVE ME A MINUTE NZ and THE METAL FLYER were declared late scratchings at 5pm for failing to be presented on course by the prescribed time.  No further action was taken due to transport difficulties.

HAY THERE JOE – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

APPLIED NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

MASTER CATCH – Pre-race sample was taken.  Driver B Hughes replaced S Grima due to failing to be on course by the prescribed time due to transport difficulties.

 

RACE 2 – WILLIAM LINDSAY CLASSIC – 1646 metres

WAMBOYNE MACHETE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

SWEET ROCKY – Hampered as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion.

LIMOUSINE CHEEKY – Driver C Formosa as reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when racing down the back straight on the final occasion permitted her runner to shift wider which in turn hampered the running of SWEET ROCKY.

LOUIGI – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

RACE 3 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1646 metres

SWEET TARA – Pre-race sample was taken.

UPSTREAM – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 4 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS FAST PASS – 2044 metres

MISTER MANAGER – Pre-race sample was taken.

LITTLE DEMON – Post-race sample was taken.

IDEAL IN DREAMS – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.  A warning was issued.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

KARAOKE KING – Pre-race sample was taken.

FAY IRENE – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver S Grima advised that during the middle stages of the event had looked to move three wide when the pace eased however when leaving the back straight had a tendency to race roughly which halted his momentum and in turn BAT MATSON which was outside of the leader then had a slight tendency to over race which left him racing in a three wide position.  Stewards noted his comments.

 

RACE 5 – THE WINDSOR CASTLE MAITLAND CUP – 2422 metres

ARNIES ARMY NZ – Hampered as the field left the back straight on the final occasion.

COOL NIGHT – Pre-race sample was taken.

ITZMINEONTHELINE – Post-race sample was taken.

CRAFTMANS CHARLIE – Driver J Gallagher was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the back straight on the final occasion closed down the track and hampered the running of ARNIES ARMY NZ.

 

RACE 6 – KIRKWOODS PRODUCE 63RD INTER CITY PACE FINAL (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2422 metres

LOYAL LOU NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

HEIDSIECK NZ – Pre-race sample was taken. 

BAD HABITS NZ – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  When questioned regarding the performance driver B Elder explained that after making some use of his drive in the early stages of the event was able to find a trailing position and raced well throughout however when the tempo quickened over the final 600 metres failed to run on and was disappointing over the concluding stages.

VINTAGE EDITION – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.  A warning was issued.

FREEDOM ART – Hampered when negotiating the first turn.

DOUBLE SAID – Out of position as the start was affected.  Connections were advised that it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

WALTER WARLOCK – Made a three wide move in the middle stages of the event and was left racing wide for the remainer.

 

RACE 7 – MULTICAM ROUTING SYSTEM PACE – 1646 metres

SPIRIT KING – Driver V Duncan was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish permitted his runner to shift wider which hampered the running of KEILOR BABY SHARK.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and checked the running of runners to its inside resulting in a false start being declared.  A warning was issued.  Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

KISSMELVIS – Shortly after crossing the line blundered and fell and shortly thereafter was deceased.  Veterinary advise this was most likely as a result of a cardiac event.  A post-mortem sample was collected which was sent for analysis. Trainer G Panella was interviewed in relation to the preparation to which she reported had been working well with no treatment taking place in recent times, no further action was taken.

KEILOR BABY SHARK – Pre-race sample was taken.  Hampered shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish.

 

RACE 8 – CHARLIE & CARMEN CAMILLERI MEMORIAL – 1646 metres

CHLOBRO – Galloped away as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

A LITTLE DILEMMA – Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners.

WATSLUVGOTTADO – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

WHEN LUNCH – Checked shortly after the start was affected.

ROCK AM ALYESKA – Post-race sample was taken.

TWO CRACKED CORN – Pre-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 9 – TRUCKPARTS WAREHOUSE MAIDEN PACE – 1646 metres

RIPPIN AN TWISTIN – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  Driver T Ison explained that had a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event.  Connections were advised a warning would be issued.

ROOBEE – Broke stride as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion.  A warning was issued.

OUR ULTIMATE MAY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

KIARAS EPONA – Hampered as the field entered the first turn.

BOBBY WALNUTS – Pre-race sample was taken.  Driver A Bourke was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn closed down the track and hampered the running of KIARAS EPONA.

 

RACE 10 –NBN NEWS PACE – 1646 metres

FRONTLINER – Post-race sample was taken.

JUNIOR WARFARE – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

BRING YOUR BEST – Pre-race sample was taken.
