RACE 1 – COPRICE FEEDS PACE – 1758 metres

SHEER VITALITY – Post-race swab sample.

HAITCH VEE TEE – Inconvenienced approaching the 400 metres when held up behind the tiring JUST GO JOE.

MAGGIE MOTH – Trainer/Driver Michael Hardy was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that approaching the 500 metres he commenced to shift wider on the track and engaged in a jostle with FIVE OCLOCK WAVE. At the same time as JUST GO JOE commenced to tire in front of MAGGIE MOTH, the filly contacted the offside sulky wheel of JUST GO JOE and as a result raced roughly causing  ULTIMATE GLADIATOR NZ being checked and broke. Driver Michael Hardy was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion over the concluding stages of the race.

JUST GO JO – Approaching the 500 metres commenced to tire to be beaten 72.5 metres. In view of the gelding’s overall performance JUST GO JOE will now be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have no obvious abnormalities.

FIVE OCLOCK WAVE – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 500 metres engaged in a jostle with MAGGIE MOTH as that runner was shifting wider on the track.

ULTIMATE EGO – Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres as a result of ULTIMATE GLADIATOR NZ being checked and broke.

ULTIMATE GLADIATOR NZ – Passing the 500 metres contacted the sulky of FIVE OCLOCK WAVE and as a result was checked and broke.

 

RACE 2 – GOLDEN APPLE SUPERSTORE FINAL – 2147 metres

CARMEN ON BLING – Approaching the 200 metres when tiring had its sulky contacted and tyre flattened by BARWEN STORM. In view of the overall performance of the gelding, CARMEN ON BLING was issued a warning.

IM BELIEBER – Checked passing the 200 metres as a result of BARWEN STORM contacting the sulky of CARMEN ON BLING.

ONTHADARKSIDE – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

MILLIE FRANCIS NZ – Passing the 200 metres was checked as a result of BARWEN STORM contacting the sulky of CARMEN ON BLING.

FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ – Placed under pressure from the 900 metres before tiring out of the event to be beaten 77.4 metres. In view of the overall performance of the mare, FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

BARWEN STORM – Driver Mikayla Towers was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that approaching the 200 metres when racing on the marker line the gelding has improved onto the back of the tiring CARMEN ON BLING contacting that sulky and as a result was checked.

 

RACE 3 – KRIDEN PARK INVITATIONAL LADIES RACE (PENALTY EXEMPT) – 1758 metres

JILLIBY ILLUSION – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

WATERMAIN LADY – Tended to race roughly and over raced throughout the event. Inconvenienced at the 400 metres behind the tiring VIEW THE ART.

VIEW THE ART – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 66 metres. In view of the overall performance of the mare, VIEW THE ART was issued its last chance to race truly

 

RACE 4 – MILBRAE QUARRIES FINAL – 2147 metres

FLYING COLOURS NZ – Post-race swab sample.

LE BETTY – Over raced through the middle stages of the event.

TEST OF FIRE – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced in the early stages of the event.

MURPHYS REWARD NZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MIKI LOCH – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 47.1 metres.

 

RACE 5 – YENDA PRODS LEETON PACERS CUP – 2582 metres

CARLO GAMBINO NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 79.6 metres for which a warning was issued.

SCARED STIFF NZ – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 74.9 metres for which a warning was issued.

CATCHAFIRE – Post-race swab sample.

CRIME WRITER – Pre-race blood sample.

CAPTAIN TOM – Tired from the 600 metres to be beaten 252 metres. In view of the overall performance of the gelding, CAPTAIN TOM will be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed CAPTAIN TOM to be suffering a poor post-race recovery.

DASHING – Trainer/Driver Bruce Harpley was questioned in regard to the overall performance of the gelding having improved three wide to a position outside the leader to then give ground to finish into 6th position beaten 32.9 metres. Mr Harpley explained it was the gelding’s first run for over 6 months and he had been happy with the way DASHING had worked leading into the event and was confident of a forward showing, however when he was able to find the position outside the leader the pace of the race failed to ease and DASHING didn’t travel well. Mr Harpley felt the overall performance of DASHING was disappointing.

 

RACE 6 – FRANK FIUMARA MEMORIAL – 1758 metres

ALISKI – Slow to begin from the mobile.

SAVOY BALLROOM – Tightened as a result of QUICKSHIFT GIRL shifting down the track. QUICKSHIFT GIRL – Driver Fiona Schmetzer was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that she has permitted her drive to shift down the track and place SAVOY BALLROOM into restricted room.

ARENDELLE – Post-race swab sample.

WONGALEA MEG – Tired over the concluding stages to be issued 60 metres and was issued its last chance to race truly.

SHES GOT A REASON – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of ALISKI being slow to begin.

BETTES BLUE VIOLET – Pre-race blood sample.

MARLO MAREAU – Checked and broke as a result of SAVOY BALLROOM being placed into restricted room when QUICKSHIFT GIRL was shifting down the track.

FULL OF SPICE – At the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM LHRC PACE – 1758 metres

CALI MAE – Post-race swab sample.

FRENCH STREET – Broke after the start for which a warning was issued. Driver Jake Stockton was issued a caution for the manner in which he used his whip over the concluding stages.

TATTS REASON – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait.

JAKRYAN - Inconvenienced as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait.

BAYRIDGE TOMMY - Inconvenienced as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait.

EMIKO - Inconvenienced as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait.

KNIGHT JUJON - Inconvenienced as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait. Raced roughly throughout the event before tiring over the concluding stages to be beaten 72 metres. In view of the record of the gelding and overall performance, KNIGHT JUJON will now be required to perform two requalifying trials and be stood down for a period of 14 days.

TIN AMBER MINE – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not competed for in excess of 12 months. Checked and broke as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait.

CULLECT A STARR – Checked as a result of FRENCH STREET breaking gait. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 64.9 metres.

 

RACE 8 – HOTEL LEETON LAST LAP LOTTERY PACE – 1758 metres

VALENTINI – Post-race swab sample.

BLUES TERROR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

OUR ULTIMATE BONNY – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

SECURITY CHECK – Over raced throughout the event.

RETURN SERVE – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

OLE CHESTER – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. Hung out badly in the back straight when placed under pressure for which a warning was issued.

ROCKIN REMY – Pre-race blood sample. Broke after the start for which a warning was issued.
