RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1740 metres
ROLL THE ACES – Held up entering the home straight before gaining clear running approaching the 150 metres.
ESTHER RISING – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
MISS HERMES – Checked approaching the 350 metres when being held up behind KRISTYSGIRL which was giving ground.
UNCHAINMYART ($1.60 fav) - Trainer/Driver Mr Bruce Harpley was questioned on the overall performance of the mare which finished in 6th place beaten 8 metres. Mr Harpley stated due to the fast last half of 55.8 seconds UNCHAINMYART was unable to make ground after being three wide.
MEGS MONARO – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having had in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE STUD PACE – 1740 metres
SHOULDBETWOBYTWO – Pre-race blood sample. Hung in after the start and contacted marker pegs for which a warning was issued.
HAPPY TOO YA – Over raced in the score up, contacted the barrier arm and galloped out for which a warning was issued.
LEWENDON – Declared a late scratching at 1.14pm acting on veterinary advice and was stood down for 10 days.
CAESAR NERO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
YARRAMAN JOLT – Over raced during the score up and contacted the sulky of SHOULDBETWOBYTWO and galloped out for which a warning was issued. Had a tendency to over race throughout.
RACE 3 – RIVERINA CRANE SERVICES PACE – 2270 metres
ELLAVA PACER – Driver Mikayla Towers was questioned regarding the driving tactics and overall performance of the mare, of particular concern of the stewards was the reason she held the front after resisting a challenge from SIGNIFICANT LAZ before taking a trail behind LE BETTY passing the 1600 metres. The mare then commenced to tire from the 700 metres to be beaten 58.9 metres. Ms Towers explained connections intention to take a trail behind LE BETTY, as ELLAVA PACER began well and was to lead early until approaching the 2000 metres when she attempted to restrain ELLAVA PACER the mare commenced to over race. Ms Towers felt the mare over racing contributed to the overall performance. After considering all available evidence, Stewards placed ELLAVA PACER on its last chance to race truly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
SIGNIFICANT LAZ – Pre-race blood sample.
LE BETTY – Post-race swab sample.
OGEDIE – Over raced throughout the event. Checked passing the 650 metres when held up behind the tiring ELLAVA PACER.
DANIBOY - Checked passing the 650 metres when held up behind the tiring ELLAVA PACER.
RACE 4 – RIVERINA HOTEL SUPER MAIDEN – 1740 metres
THAT WILL DO JILL – Raced roughly after the start.
KALIMBA – Fractious in the score up and was out of position at the start. Given the overall racing manners of KALIMBA, the gelding will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
BLING KING – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 57.5 metres for which a warning was issued.
PAUL ADAM – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
SAPPHIRE BOY – At the request of connections will now be reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.
DANIBOY – Held up entering the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running approaching the 170 metres.
RACE 5 – RIVERINA SIGNMAKERS 3YO PACE – 1740 metres
BROOKLYNS GEM – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 84.1 metres. Given the overall performance, BROOKLYNS GEM will be required to requalify on one occasion.
DESTINATION UNKNOWN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Galloped out and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
DANCE PHIL – Raced roughly from the 800 metres and was uncompetitive from that point to be beaten 87.4 metres. The gelding will now be required to requalify on one occasion.
SPARTAN SHIELD – Driver Nathan Jack was questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding after leading and taking cover, tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 69.4 metres. Mr Jack explained the gelding had had a slight let up since its last start and may have needed the run, however he was mindful the gelding was up in grade. Mr Jack further stated it was the stable’s intention to place the gelding in more appropriate races going forward. Given the overall performance of the gelding, it will be required to requalify on one occasion.
ALERT BAY – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – STROUD HOMES PACE – 1740 metres
NOWHERENEAR CRAZY - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not competed for over 12 months. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
DASHING – Approaching the 1200 metres hung out and locked wheels with NYACK.
WHEREYABINBOPPIN – Pre-race blood sample.
NYACK – Approaching the 1200 metres locked wheels and was inconvenienced as a result of DASHING hanging out. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – SOUTHWEST STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1740 metres
KIMCANDO – Approaching the 450 metres hung in and had its off side sulky wheel contacted and flattened by NUGGET ROGERS. Post-race swab sample.
SAVEEON – Inconvenienced approaching the 450 metres as a result of NUGGET ROGERS contacting the sulky of KIMCANDO and raced roughly.
WAVES OF CHANCE – Fractious in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.
IM ALRITE - Inconvenienced approaching the 450 metres as a result of NUGGET ROGERS contacting the sulky of KIMCANDO and raced roughly.
NUGGET ROGERS – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jame Locke was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving. in that approaching the 450 metres when attempting to move his runner wider on the track he has contacted and flattened the offside sulky wheel of KIMCANDO and raced roughly. In taking no further action Stewards took into consideration the racing manners of KIMCANDO.
RACE 8 – SMALLMON BROTHERS WASTE & RECYCLING PACE – 1740 metres
VIEW THE ART – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced throughout the event. Post-race swab sample.
YUKON BE SERIOUS NZ – Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.
CARLO GAMBINO - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Inconvenienced passing the 250 metres whilst being held up behind LETTYS REASON which gave ground.
NO ALIBI NZ - At the request of connections will now be reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.
LETTYS REASON - Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 22 metres.
