RACE 1 – OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS @ APG SALES PACE – 1609 metres

LENNETH – Post-race swab sample.

TAPAGANOOSH – Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

OFF THE CHARTS – Pre-race blood sample.  Stewards questioned driver Jack Callaghan with regards to the performance of the horse which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in ninth placing beaten 29 metres.  Mr Callaghan advised Stewards that in his opinion the horse was disappointing this evening despite having its first start for the new stable since been transferred from Western Australia and having not raced since November 2025.  Mr Callaghan further advised that the horse had trialled well in preparation for its first start.  A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Callaghan, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RED REACTOR NZ – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

PABLO ROCKS – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

VINKE B NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

CLASSIC ELEGANCE NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample. 

HES A MEISTER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. 

JORGE STREET – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.

DUKES CHOICE – Driver Bailey McDonough was fined $100 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing have the gelding in position at the start of the event.

STILL ROLLIN NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 3 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

FIFTEEN ACES – Pre-race blood sample.

PERFECT STRANGER NZ – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight and inconvenienced BUSINESS IN HEAVEN.

JETTER SON – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.  Stewards questioned driver Will Rixon with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in seventh placing beaten 19 metres.  Mr Rixon advised Stewards that he could offer no excuses for the performance of the gelding despite having its first run for the preparation.  Mr Rixon further added that he felt the performance was somewhat plain and the gelding never travelled throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Rixon, Stewards determined to note his comments.

MCWIZARD – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

BUSINESS IN HEAVEN – Inconvenienced over the concluding stages when PERFECT STRANGER NZ shifted out under pressure.

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

SINALOA – Post-race swab sample.

FLO RYDA NZ – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

RACE 4 – MENANGLE PARK COMMUNITY LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

FREEDOM ART – Pre-race blood sample.

DELIGHTFUL STAR NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.  Stewards questioned driver Will Rixon with regards to the performance of the mare which commenced to tire from the 600 metres checking VIN NUMBER before finishing in seventh placing beaten 30 metres.  Mr Rixon advised Stewards that the mare had to do a significant amount of work as result of the early tempo, however he was never satisfied with the way the mare travelled thereafter.  A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Rixon, Stewards determined to note his comments.

JOANS RISING STAR NZ – Post-race swab sample.

VIN NUMBER – Checked between the 600 metres and the 400 metres behind the tiring DELIGHTFUL STAR NZ.

MISSAUDACIOUS – Broke after the start.  After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

WHILEMENA RITA – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

GIPSY PRINCESS – Pre-race blood sample.  Raced roughly during the latter stages of the score up and as a result galloped out.  After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

RACE 5 – CLUB MENANGLE BAY JOHNNY TROTTERS HANDICAP (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2300 metres

HES A HAMMER – Stood flat footed at the start and began badly.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

AFFAIRE DE COVER – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

PESCO POLLO – Pre-race blood sample.  Gave ground over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off side fore leg and suffering from the thumps.  Acting in accordance with the recommendations of the veterinary surgeon the gelding was stood down for a period of seven days and the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.

RAKERO BLAZE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 2000 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres

CAPTAIN BELLASARIO – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

PROMISING – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH NZ – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RUDY GEE – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.
