RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres.
BULL SHARK – Pre-race blood sample. Galloped away when the start was affected. Trainer/driver Miss C McElhinney was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
TRY CATCHING ME – Post-race swab sample.
REASONABLY SWEET – When being shifted to the outside of SUPERIOR ART passing the 500 metres made slight contact with the outside wheel of the sulky of SUPERIOR ART and was unbalanced, then after racing to its outside for some distance, blundered and fell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had sustained abrasions to both fore legs and was treated on course by the club’s veterinary officer. Trainer Mr M Osborn was advised that a stand down period of 28 days would be applied and prior to racing again REASONABLY SWEET must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness, then perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.
TRUTHBETOLD – Had to be checked and roughly shortly after the start when attempting to avoid BULL SHARK which had galloped.
RACE 2 – BROCK SAMPSON GOLF TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres
SPARKLING SUE – Pre-race blood sample. Hung in rounding the home turn and contacted marker pegs. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was 3/5 lame in the near foreleg. Trainer/driver Mr T Ison was advised that a stand down period of seven days would be applied and prior to racing again SPARKLING SUE must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness.
AGENT CALLEN – post-race swab sample.
THREE PARTS GREY – Attempted to jump a displaced marker peg rounding the home turn, broke stride and galloped for a short distance.
RACE 3 – WESTS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP PACE – 1609 metres
ROCKNROLL RAMBO – Pre-race blood sample.
LACHIES IDEAL – After being driven to the lead in the early stages, took charge of its driver and was unable to be properly restrained, hung out continually and contacted its own sulky throughout prior to weakening passing the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to display a slow recovery. Connections were advised that prior to racing again LACHIES IDEAL must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.
EIFFEL FROM HEAVEN – Post-race swab sample.
WHISKEY ROYALE – Held up for some distance in the early part of the straight when unable to obtain a clear run to the inside of the weakening LACHIES IDEAL.
RACE 4 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres
LOCKITINEDDY – Pre-race blood sample. Galloped away when the start was affected, took some time to be restrained, and took no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
KATASTROPHEE – Had to be checked after the start to avoid LOCKITINEDDY and then was obliged to race outside it for some distance in the early stages. Driver C McElhinney explained that due to being unable to go forward of LOCKITINEDDY and its reluctance to respond to any restraint she was significantly disadvantaged during the early stages, and the mare could not be driven competitively.
BRAVE BONDI – Post-race swab sample.
CORAL CLAYS – Hampered shortly after the start when attempting to avoid LOCKITINEDDY. Connections were advised that following required satisfactory performance the mare would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 5 – PETERMAC ON-COURSE PHOTOGRAPHY PACE – 1980 metres
BETTATHANMOZARELLA – It was noted that upon return to the stabling area the offside tyre was flat.
DOUGS RULES – post-race swab sample.

RACE 7 – THE PUB – DRIVE OF THE DAY PACE – 1609 metres
IMXTRASPECIAL – post-race swab sample. After providing the sample and being returned to its raceday stall, the gelding became distressed and was treated on course by the club’s veterinary officer for symptoms of colic. Following further treatment and observation and consultation with connections, it was transported to Tamworth Equine Veterinary Hospital for further possible treatment.
HE SAID SHE SAID – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
OHWHATIWOULDGIVE – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1980 metres
THREE RIVERS NZ – Raced in restricted room approaching and rounding the home turn.
ALLSOPP – When questioned in relation to the performance driver J Coney explained, that the gelding pulled hard during the early and middle stages and despite racing in a favourable position it would not settle, then passing the 700m it became lethargic and she was obliged to urge it along to maintain its position. She said that passing the 500m she shifted it wider on the track to go forward, however it was unresponsive and became momentarily unbalanced when attempting to improve around JAYJAYBENNY near the 400m, could not improve from that point and was disappointing in its finishing effort. Due to the official veterinarian being required to continually attend a runner from the previous event, a post-race examination was not conducted.
JAYJAYBENNY – Driver D Chapple was reminded of his obligation to restrict his body movements to be within the confines of his sulky.
ARNIES ARMY NZ – Post-race swab sample.
ASHLEYS BLUE CHIP – Pre-race blood sample.
