RACE 1 – STUART VALENTINE PACE – 1730 metres

HALL CASH – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 22.8 metres.

CARBAGANOOSH – Checked between the 400 and the 150 metres when held up behind the tiring HALL CASH.

MCLEAN – Post-race swab.

SHE THE DEVIL – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 24.3 metres.

THE ROGUE I AM – Passing the 500 metres was tightened as a result of DUN SPRUIKIN shifting wider on the track. 

DUN SPRUIKIN – Driver Jett Turnbull was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that passing the 500 metres he shifted his runner wider on the track placing THE ROGUE I AM in restricted room.

WHYIMAN – Pre-race blood test.

 

RACE 2 – THANK YOU BLUEPRINT SIGNS PACE – 1730 metres

ULTIMATE HUGHEY – Approaching the 500 metres broke gait free of interference for which a warning was issued.  Locked wheels with HES CHIMING causing that runner to be checked.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Post-race swab.

PAS DE CHEVAL – Checked passing the 500 metres as a result of ULTIMATE HUGHEY breaking gait.

TENMINUTES – Checked passing the 500 metres as a result of ULTIMATE HUGHEY breaking gait.

STUDLEIGH MELISE – Pre-race blood test.  Severely checked and locked wheels with HES CHIMING at the 500 metres as a result of ULTIMATE HUGHEY breaking gait.

HOPPALONGPOG – Broke in the score up and caused a false start as the starter felt that POPS LEGACY had been interfered with.  In view of the gelding’s good record a warning was issued.  Checked passing the 500 metres as a result of ULTIMATE HUGHEY breaking gait.

HES CHIMING – Severely checked and locked wheels with ULTIMATE HUGHEY as a result of ULTIMATE HUGHEY breaking gait.

 

RACE 3 – GET WELL SOON DENIS DECLAUZEL 3YO PACE – 1730 metres

PERFECTDELIGHT – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

TALK TO LEXY – Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres as a result of AURORA MIGHTY ROB shifting wider on the track.

AURORA MIGHTY ROB – Passing the 400 metres shifted out placing TALK TO LEXY in restricted room.  Driver Amanda Turnbull was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

 

RACE 4 – THANK YOU JASON HEWITT (AND CONGRATULATIONS) 2YO NSW BRED PACE – 1730 metres

FLINCENT – Broke after the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

IM THE MAJOR – Race roughly under pressure.

VEGAS ICE BAR – Raced greenly throughout the event.

SYD THE KID – Broke on two occasions firstly passing the 1200 metres and again approaching the 200 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record SYD THE KID will be required to perform two requalifying trials and stood down for a period of 14 days.

ATOMIK CRUNCH – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 5 – BARKERS BUTCHERY MEAT RAFFLE PACE – 1730 metres

REBOUNDER – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running approaching the 150 metres. 

OUR GEORGE BOSTON – Pre-race blood test. 

ALTA WILLIAM – Post-race swab.

 

RACE 6 – CATTLEWASH AT YIRRIBEE PACING STUD PACE – 2260 metres

RIVIERE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 42.6 metres.

ALWAYSBMYPONY – Checked as a result of FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE giving ground approaching the 500 metres.  Post-race swab.

FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding, after racing outside the leader FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE commenced to tire at the 600 metres to be beaten 97.8 metres.  Mr Turnbull explained FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE had a tendency to over race in the early stages however felt the gelding was very disappointing.  In view of the overall performance of the gelding, FOLLOW THE ECLIPSE will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ETERNAL GOLD – Pre-race blood test.

TERRYRAMA – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Raced roughly under pressure and was issued its last chance to race truly.

KICKATINALONGPONY – Over raced in the early stages of the event.

 

RACE 7 – HORSE QUEENED SUDS IT PURPLE 2YO NSW BRED PACE – 1730 metres

NAES GOT CLASS – Slow to begin from the mobile.  Inconvenienced as a result of GUNNAREASON breaking gait at the 400 metres.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 79.6 metres.  In view of the overall performance of the filly, NAES GOT CLASS will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

GUNNAREASON – Pre-race blood test.  Approaching  the 400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  In view of the filly having its first start it will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

IAMAKING – Broke after the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

KINGSCLAIR MISTY – Checked after the start as a result of IAMAKING breaking gait.

BIRDSONG – Driver Robert Morris was fined the sum of $100 under rule 162(1)(g) for starting from the incorrect barrier after scoring up in barrier ten instead of barrier nine on the second line.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of the racing manners of NAES GOT CLASS which was drawn in barrier one in front of BIRDSONG and also BIRDSONG was the sole runner on the second line.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 8 – TOWN AND COUNTRY RURAL SUPPLIES PACE – 1730 metres

DUFFY HOLLOW NZ – Broke after the start for which a warning was issued.  Tailed the field throughout the event.

CLASSIC ARC – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

LADY DELORIS – Pre-race blood test.

FESTINALENTE – Post-race swab.

HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Approaching the home turn was inconvenienced as a result of PARALLEL hanging out under pressure and both runners locked wheels.

PARALLEL – Hung out under pressure approaching the final turn and momentarily locked wheels with HOOKED ON WINNING NZ.

LAYLA SHANNON – Checked and broke after the start as a result of DUFFY HOLLOW NZ breaking gait.

 

RACE 9 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN SPONSORS PACE – 1730 metres

TIGER LOLA – Declared a late scratching at 3.30pm acting on veterinary advice.

MAMMALS HEART – Pre-race blood test.  Hung out under pressure.

PYEKAKARIKI – Had a tendency to hang in under pressure.

SATELLITE SKY – At the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.

WEE BIT BETTOR – Approaching the 250 metres hung in and broke gait.  In view of the overall record of the horse, WEE BIT BETTOR will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.

DEAR DARLING – Post-race swab.  

 

RACE 10 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

BABLING BABLING – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

FURIOUS BART – Approaching the 1400 metres broke stride for which a warning was issued.  Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested. 

OCEAN KING – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not raced for in excess of 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Inconvenienced approaching the 1400 metres as a result of FURIOUS BART breaking gait.

FURYROCK – Inconvenienced approaching the 1400 metres as a result of FURIOUS BART breaking gait.
