RACE 1 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – METROPOLITAN HEAT ONE – 2125 metres
IDEAL IN DREAMS – Broke gait in the score up resulting in WESTERN STYLE being checked. Subsequently a false start was declared. A warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
SIREN SEA – Pre-race blood sample.
SWEET STRIKE – Improved three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside the leader approaching the 1500 metres.
PETES CRUNCH TIME – Disappointed for a run approaching the 100 metres and contacted a marker peg when NOTHINGBUTWAVES shifted in. subsequently PETES CRUNCH TIME was unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home stage and was not fully tested.
RACE 2 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – METROPOLITAN HEAT TWO – 2125 metres
MAGNETIC STORM – Gave ground over the final 500 metres to be beaten 85.5 metres. When questioned, Driver J Gallagher was unable to provide any detailed explanation for the performance, he did however offer the gelding was inclined to over race. He added Trainer J Farrugia was disappointed and was unable to explain the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Connections were advised MAGNETIC STORM would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory and inconsistent performance.
WHEREISHE – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 50 metres.
KATES VIRTUE – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1600 metres.
WITHDISTINCTION – Raced 3 wide in the early stages with cover before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1500 metres. Post-race swab sample.
HEAVENLY REASON – Passing the 100 metres had to be steadied wider and raced roughly.
OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre-race blood sample. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 225th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Leaving the 500 metres was hampered behind MAGNETIC STORM which was giving ground and subsequently OUR UNCLE JIM was unable to shift out away from that runner until leaving the 400 metres. Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to hang in when racing in restricted room and subsequently contacted marker pegs.
DOUBLE IT HARRY – Leaving the 500 metres was checked and taken back by MAGNETIC STORM which was giving ground. DOUBLE IT HARRY was unable to improve past runner until leaving the 400 metres. Driver K Morris was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 100 metres she directed DOUBLE IT HARRY out when not quite clear of HEAVENLY REASON resulting in that runner being inconvenienced and taken out toward ROCKNROLL GIG which in turn was inconvenienced.
ROCKNROLL GIG – Near the 100 metres had to be steadied when taken wider by HEAVENLY REASON which in turn had been taken wider by DOUBLE IT HARRY.
RACE 3 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – METROPOLITAN HEAT THREE
THE METAL FLYER – Pre-race blood sample.
IMA BOXER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 4 – CARNIVAL OF CUPS EVENT TICKETS ON SALE NOW PACE – 1720 metres
FLO RYDA NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 207th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Leaving the 500 metres was hampered when SHEVCHENKO and TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ and made contact with each other.
SHEVCHENKO – Leaving the 500 metres received contact to the off side sulky wheel by TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ. Post-race swab sample.
TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – Passing the 500 metres laid in and struck the offside sulky wheel of SHEVCHENKO and subsequently raced roughly.
CHARLIES ACE NZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the mare competing in its 223rd race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
PALATINO NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 5 – THURSDAY MARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND PACE – 1720 metres
RICK REILLY NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Driver S Grima was questioned regarding the tempo he set when leading. S Grima explained it was his intention to lead throughout. He said he was surprised MR TEDDY NZ raced in close proximity during the first half of the event and in his opinion, this contributed to a faster than expected first quarter. S Grima added that when he commenced to increase the tempo in the third quarter, he did so to make it more difficult for runners trailing to make ground and he was confident RICK REILLY NZ would be able to finish the race off. S Grima stated he was pleased with the gelding’s performance as the only runner that did improve past him was the favourite that had a favourable trail. S Grima’s explanation was noted.
MR TEDDY NZ – A false start was declared when the near side lugging pole became entangled on the near side rein.
FIRE FOX NZ – Raced roughly passing the 200 metres.
NOSAER – Will be reincluded in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 6 – FISHOS RAFFLES @ CLUB PACEWAY FRIDAY NIGHTS PACE – 1720 metres
GREY CADILLAC - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 224th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Post-race swab sample.
REIGN MAKER - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 211th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
JESSEJAMES SHANNON – Pre-race blood sample.
MADAZALWAYS - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 218th race start. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
ROCKY MONALOO – Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 100 metres.
RACE 7 – MAJOR OAK TICKETS ON SALE NOW PACE – 1720 metres
FORESIGHT – Post-race swab sample.
ED MENDES – Improved 3 wide during the early stages before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.
GET UP BETTY – Had limited racing room in the home straight and was not fully tested.
EBBONY STORM – Pre-race blood sample.
TIGER EUPHEME – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.
RACE 8 – JAZZ @ CLUB PACEWAY APR 12 PACE – 1720 metres
HIWAYTHREENINENINE – Deafeners failed to release.
MY ULTIMATE SASSY – Pre-race blood sample. Leaving the 200 metres hung out and shortly after locked wheels with JETASI NZ.
JOHNNY TANG – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.
CALL ME SIR NZ – Commenced to give ground near the 900 metres and was eased up over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination concluding that CALL ME SIR NZ had bled from both nostrils. Given it was the second bleed, acting under Rule 101(3)(b) connections were advised CALL ME SIR NZ would now receive a lifetime ban from racing.
JETASI NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1100 metres. Approaching the 150 metres was hampered and locked wheels with MY ULTIMATE SASSY which hung out. Post-race swab sample.
LIFE AT MIDNIGHT – Will now be reincluded in the mobile barrier draw.
