Mr Hart advised Stewards he was offered no instructions by Mr Grimson, however it was his intent to try to lead the event and when unable to do so and in consideration of the fast early tempo elected to obtain cover. Mr Hart further explained that Mr Hart further added that he assessed the form of NYACK and SPEAK THE TRUTH as equitable and given RAKERO ROCKET NZ races better when able to find the fence he elected to shift down to the marker pegs. Mr Hart further advised the gelding was disappointing in the home straight and although it appeared he was held up in the early stages, he explained he was unable to hold the back of NYACK in the home straight.
