He stated leaving the 600 metres the opportunity to shift wide was briefly available but was mindful of the work done in the early stages of the race also the filly has paced roughly previously when racing wide over the final stages of the race, He further stated with SEVEN TEE TWO racing wide for the entire race he expected that runner to tire allowing his runner to obtain clear running.

THEYCALLMEBRUCE – Driver J O’Shea was questioned on his tactics adopted throughout the event in particular if there was an opportunity to obtain cover from SEVEN TEE TWO when challenged by that runner at the 1100 metres.  He stated the gelding races best when racing in a forward position but after doing more work than he expected in the early stages and the fast early tempo was happy to surrender to SEVEN TEE TWO when challenged but with his runner commencing to over race and SEVEN TEE TWO not having the necessary speed to cross he elected to hold that position from the 800 metres.

When progressing to the outside THEYCALLMEBRUCE began to over race and with his runner not showing the necessary speed to cross elected to cease the challenge at the 850 metres but believed at that point of the race was detrimental to restrain to the tail of the field.
