GENERAL – After the running of Race 1 it was determined that the circumstances surrounding runners that broke gait would be noted but no direct action would be taken.  In addition, leniency was applied to horses that gave ground at today’s race meeting due to the condition of the track. Recently the Bankstown track surface underwent a major renovation

.

Post Race 1 Stewards met with all competing drivers and club officials in relation to the renovated track surface.  After taking submissions from all drivers and from club officials an overwhelming majority of drivers did not have any concerns in relation to safety however some did have concerns with inconsistencies in the track surface.  After noting their concerns Stewards determined to continue with the race meeting and to review the racing surface on a race to race basis.
