RACE 1 – YABBY DAM FARMS GOLD CORONET HEAT ONE – 1730 metres

ET JULIETTE – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the filly’s gear recorded.  Broke shortly after the start and at the request of connections will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

DEEP LOVE NZ – Broke clear of interference approaching the 200 metres and a warning was issued. 

IM HAVINTOTROT – Pre-race warm up.  Pre-race blood sample.  Trotted roughly passing the 300 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

GLADIATRIX – Hung in approaching the 1400 metres.

 

RACE 2 – YABBY FARMS GOLD CORONET HEAT TWO – 1730 metres

PRINCE KENNY – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the gelding’s gear recorded.

JUST ME AND YOU – Broke clear of interference passing the 1400 metres and in view of the colt’s recent record will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

CEE CEE IN PARIS – Post-race swab sample.

NOTANOTHA NAUGHTY – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke gait clear of interference passing the 300 metres and a warning was issued.

 

RACE 3 – HYNASH GROUP GOLDEN CROWN HEAT ONE – 1730 metres

ROGUE BANDIT – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke clear of interference approaching the 1400 metres resulting in SQUISH which was following being checked.  As ROGUE BANDIT was having its first race start the colt will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

KING SHOOBEE – Checked passing the 600 metres when SYD THE KID broke gait.  Paced roughly for a short distance passing the 300 metres.

MY ULTIMATE JED – Trainer Jarrod Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.  Post-race swab sample.

SYD THE KID – Broke clear of interference passing the 600 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record will now be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days and until the satisfactory completion of two trials.  In not taking more serious action against SYD THE KID Stewards were mindful the gelding was only having its third race start.

BACKFROMTHEBRINK – Broke on two occasions firstly passing the 1500 metres and again approaching the 200 metres.  In view of the recent record of BACKFROMTHEBRINK will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

SQUISH – Checked passing the 1500 metres when ROGUE BANDIT broke gait.  Paced roughly rounding the final turn when giving ground to be beaten 56 metres.  A warning was subsequently placed on the colt’s record.

 

RACE 4 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN HEAT TWO – 1730 metres

The start of this event was delayed avoiding a clash with Race 2 from Ballarat thoroughbreds.

LAZIO STRIDE – Over raced during the early stages when positioned outside of the leader.

REVVIN REYNARD – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

ARCHIE ON BY – Shifted out in the early stages of the score up simultaneously to HEAD RUSH shifting in resulting in ARCHIE ON BY and HEAD RUSH making contact.

HEAD RUSH – Shifted in during the early stages of the score up simultaneously to ARCHIE ON BY shifting out resulting in HEAD RUSH and ARCHIE ON BY making contact.

THE MYTEE DUCK – Raced greenly under pressure inside the final 150 metres.

UNCLE NOLAN – Broke clear of interference passing the 1200 metres and as the colt was having its second start UNCLE NOLAN will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards. 

ELECTRICUTE – Trainer David Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.

MY ULTIMATE HENRY – Trainer Jarrod Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.

 

RACE 5 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN HEAT THREE – 1730 metres

JACWILL KID – Pre-race blood sample.  Hung out shortly after the start and a warning was issued.  Hung out rounding the first turn before progressing to the lead and a warning was issued.  Post-race swab sample.

CAPTAINS BANDIT – Pre-race blood sample.  Trainer Brad Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare Nathan Jack as the driver of the colt by the required time.

HEAR NO EVIL – Broke shortly after the start and as the colt was having its second race start will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.  Over raced during the early and middle stages.

FLINCENT – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

DON HUNTER – Trainer Luke McCarthy was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.  Trainer/driver Luke McCarthy was questioned regarding the performance of DON HUNTER which finished in 3^rd placing beaten 25 metres ($1.33 fav).  Mr McCarthy explained that he made some use of DON HUNTER during the early and middle stages to obtain the position outside of the leader and the race was run in a relatively 1.53.9, however irrespective of these factors DON HUNTER was disappointing over the concluding stages in his opinion.  Mr McCarthy added it was his intention to have blood samples taken from DON HUNTER in the coming days and undertook to report those findings to Stewards.  A post-race veterinary examination of DON HUNTER failed to reveal any significant findings.

Supplementary Report 25/03/2026

Trainer Luke McCarthy has advised that analysis of blood samples taken from DON HUNTER have not revealed any abnormalities and the colt has pulled up well following the event. Mr McCarthy added that the extended travel on raceday may have been a contributing factor to the disappointing performance and it is his intention at this stage to travel DON HUNTER to Bathurst the day prior to its engagement on 28 March 2026. 

 

RACE 6 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN HEAT FOUR – 1730 metres

ATOMIK CRUNCH – Hung in rounding the final turn.  Post-race swab sample.

STARBASE – Trainer Amanda Turnbull was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.  

VEDMID STRIDE – Inconvenienced in the latter part of the score up when GOCCIADORO hung in.

GOCCIADORO – Hung in during the latter part of the score up inconveniencing VEDMID STRIDE.

IAMAKING – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

SEASTRIKE – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – HYNASH GROUP GOLD CROWN HEAT FIVE – 1730 metres

SOHO CRUZA – Sulky contacted passing the 1200 metres when CAPTAIN KOSTECKI hung out.

THEMIDNIGHTEXPRESS – Pre-race blood sample.  Trainer Luke McCarthy was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.

POCKET DIAL – Held up during the early part of the straight before obtaining clear running approaching the 150 metres.

TAKE THE MIKI – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

SAN LUCA – Hung in rounding the final turn and a warning was issued.

LOVE A STORY – Hung in during the middle part of the score up and as a consequence was out of position at the start.  LOVE A STORY will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

CAPTAIN KOSTECKI – Trainer Amanda Turnbull was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the colt’s gear recorded.  Tightened passing the 1500 metres when SAN LUCA improved to the inside of TAKE THE MIKI which shifted in slightly.  Hung out and contacted the sulky of SOHO CRUZA approaching the 1200 metres and raced greenly at various stages thereafter.  A warning was subsequently placed on the record of CAPTAIN KOSTECKI.
