RACE 1 – DONGES IGA PACE – 1720 metres

SMOOTH CHAKRA – Post-race swab sample.

HESONTARGET – leaving the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. The gelding will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

BETS ON HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample.

HOODLUM TURF – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

NOT MY JOB – Checked leaving the 600 metres when trailing HESONTARGET who had broke stride.

 

RACE 2 – YOUNG SERVICES CLUB 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1720 metres

EZZRA – Raced roughly shortly after the start. A warning was issued.

BE BETTER – Broke stride as the start was affected. Considering it was the gelding’s first race start it will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

TULHURST IRIS – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

GOINGOOD – Became unbalanced and broke stride at the 650 metres. As it was the gelding’s first race start it will be stood down for one requalifying trial.

SURPRISE ARRIVAL – Raced roughly in the score up and broke stride shortly after the start. The filly will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Leaving the 700 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. The filly will be required to requalify on one occasion.

 

RACE 3 – TURNERS FURNITURE ONE PACE – 1720 metres

I LIKA STYLE – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

WHATABOUTBRONSON – Inside the final 100 metres when attempting a run between LUCKY ZARA and ROCKIN SWEET, has raced tight racing room contacted the sulky wheel of LUCKY ZARA and broke stride.

LUCKY ZARA – Driver J O’Shea pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) when inside the final 100 metres he has allowed his runner to shift down the track resulting in WHATABOUTBRONSON being placed in restricted racing room contacting the sulky wheel and breaking stride. Considering Mr O’Shea’s plea and record in relation to this rule, in not being suspended since 2022, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days. This suspension is to commence midnight Friday 27 March 2026. Post-race swab sample.

HES A TERROR – Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

MITTYS THREE ACES NZ – Checked and broke in the home straight because of WHATABOUTBRONSON breaking stride.

ROCKNROLL BLING – Leaving the 200 metres was checked and raced roughly when contacting the sulky wheel of OAK RIDGE who had shifted out when insufficiently clear.

DANCE BABY DANCE – Pre-race blood sample.

OAK RIDGE – Driver J Locke pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the 200 metres he has shifted his runner wider on the track when insufficiently clear of ROCKINROLL BLING and as a result that runner has made contact to its sulky wheel and raced roughly. Considering Mr Locke’s guilty plea and his record in relation to this rule, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days. This suspension is to commence midnight Tuesday 31 March 2026.

 

RACE 4 – ARMA INSURANCE BROKERS PACE – 1720 metres

HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. The gelding then broke stride shortly after the start. Considering its record, he will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. The gelding took no competitive part in the race.

MAGIC MATTEO – Broke stride as the start was affected. A warning was issued.

EXCUSE TO CULLECT – Post-race swab sample.

GLENBURN WATERS – Negotiating the first turn hung in and raced roughly.

JESSEJAMES SHANNON – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when MAGIC MATTEO broke stride.

CLASSIC ARC - Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 5 – SWSBANK PACE – 1720 metres

SHES GOT A REASON – Post-race swab sample.

THE TALK – Pre-race blood sample.

KARINYA HAZ – Leaving the 300 metres was inconvenienced when racing roughly for a short distance when POTTER was being shifted wider.

POTTER – Driver J Turnbull was advised to exercise care when shifting ground.

 

RACE 6 – AUSTRALIAN HOTEL PACE – 2100 metres

MERRYWOOD ROSIE – Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the mare’s overall performance when she failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 6th position beaten 18.9 metres. He stated when not able to obtain the lead, racing outside the lead at a fast tempo over the longer distance proved detrimental to her overall performance.

WHYIMAN – Leaving the 150 metres broke stride when racing under pressure. A warning was issued.

HELLO I TEA – Pre-race blood. Post-race swab sample.

TERRYRAMA - Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 7 – POPPA’S FUDGE FACTORY PACE – 1720 metres

PEAKSART – Post-race swab sample.

OUR ULTIMATE BONNY – Pre-race blood sample.

ENZED FLYER – Checked between the 700 metres and 600 metres when BLUES TERROR was yielding ground.

TIGERNATOR – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

BLUES TERROR – Pre-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on this examination. Yielded ground quickly from the 700 metres to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a suffered atrial fibrillation on the first occasion. Connections were advised the gelding will be stood down for a period of 14 days, a veterinary clearance inclusive of an ECG which must be submitted prior to the gelding racing or trialling, and the gelding will also be required to requalify on one occasion.

CAPITALLEE – Checked between the 700 metres and the 550 metres when trailing BLUES TERROR who was tiring.  Leaving the 300 metres when improving at speed has broke stride when making contact to the sulky wheel of MOVINTOHELLANDBACK who had shifted down the track. As no horse or driver could solely be blamed for the incident no further action was taken.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1720 metres

MAJOR JEWEL – Slow to begin when the start was affected. Working forward three wide in the early stages, the offside sulky hopple shortener pin prematurely activated and as a result the mare broke stride. The hopple shortener cord then became wrapped around the offside hopple loop and as a result the mare was eased out of the event. Due to the gear malfunction, no further action was taken.

MAGGIE MOTH – Post-race swab sample.

HARJAYBRO – Approaching the 200 metres, hung in and contacted marker pegs and as a result Driver J Painting became unbalanced in the seat and dropped his left foot for a short distance.

JAKRYAN – Pre-race blood sample.

CALM FRANCO – Driver J Turnbull was advised that although the gelding felt uneasy in its gear in the home straight on the final occasion, he still has an obligation to attempt to drive the gelding out to the finish.

SERGEANT PEE JAY – After working forward three wide and obtaining the position outside the lead at the 800 metres. Raced roughly for a short distance.

 

RACE 9 – RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1720 metres

JOSEY MINT – Driver P Wood pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that approaching the 600 metres he has shifted his runner wider when LIFE GETS BETTER had covered his outside sulky wheel with that runner being obliged to cover more ground than necessary prior to the designated push out pole. Considering Mr Wood’s record in relation to this rule, and his guilty plea, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days. This suspension is to commence midnight Friday 27 March 2026.

LIFE GETS BETTER – Approaching the 650 metres was inconvenienced when being obliged to cover more ground than necessary prior to the designated push out pole when JOSEY MINT shifted wider.

LOOKOUT NZ – Driver D McKenzie could give no reasonable explanation for the gelding tiring over the final 400 metres to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. The mare will be required to requalify on one occasion.

HOLZHAUER – Michael Day Jnr was approved to drive the gelding as a result of R Turner be injured. Leaving the 700 metres was inconvenienced when shifted to a four wide position and was obliged to cover more ground than necessary prior to the designated push out pole when MOHAWK PARK had shifted wider.

CELEBRITY CRUISE – Pre-race blood sample.

MOHAWK PARK – Driver S Dowton pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that leaving the 700 metres has shifted his runner to a three wide position when HOLZHAUER had covered his outside sulky wheel with that runner being obliged to cover more ground than necessary prior to the designated push out pole. Considering Mr Dowton’s guilty plea and his excellent record in relation to this rule, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days. This suspension is to commence on midnight Tuesday 24 March 2026.

PADDY MACH - Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding is 13 years of age and has had over 300 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 10 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 1720 metres

ONE STUNIN MELODY – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride shortly after the start. A warning was issued.

STARS ABROAD –  M Day Jnr was approved to drive the gelding due to R Turner being injured. Post-race swab sample.

JUDAH – Broke stride shortly after the start. The gelding will be given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

STUDLEIGH TITANIUM – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent record, it will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must requalify on two occasions.

AARON MINT – Driver P Woods was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist flicking action and has engaged his shoulder.
