RACE 4– DEANS HYDRAULICS PACE – 1660 metres
POTTER – ($3.60) Driver Matthew Atkinson was queried into the tactics adopted on the gelding in particular his decision if gave consideration to remain along the marker line following the leader LOYOLA GOLF prior to shifting up the track around the final turn. Mr Atkinson advised approaching the 250m he felt LOYOLA GOLF (leader) was under pressure and was the belief BUTTER CUP (outside leader) was travelling the better and directed POTTER to follow that runner and direct wider on the track after doing so LOYOLA GOLF shifted up the track upon entering the home straight. Mr Atkinson added he attempted to direct wider on the track however was mindful VIOLET JAY was improving to his outside & if he was to continue with his outwards movement it cause interference to that runner therefore attempted to direct back to a marker line position however was unable to when YA RACIN ARLO had improved into his vacated position resulting in POTTER being held up and failing to gain clear running the entire length of the home straight. After viewing the available replays which supported the comments of Mr Atkinson stewards felt the tactics adopted were not unreasonable in the circumstances.

LETSGO MATILDA – ($6.00) Driver Jett Turnbull was queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 9th position beaten 12m after racing outside the leader throughout out. Mr Turnbull attributed the performance to a combination of the mare pulling hard and was not suited racing without cover.
PHANTOM STAR – Pre-race swab. Raced roughly after the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of PHANTOM STAR.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

CHASIN YOU – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.
BABY EL AY – ($3.30) Driver Ella Turnbull was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the gelding which finished in 9th position beaten 32.5m. Ms Turnbull attributed the performance to the gelding having to sustain a three (3) wide run from passing the 700m which was beyond BABY EL AY capabilities at this stage of its career.
AARON MINT – Broke gait passing the 1600m. A warning was issued against the racing manners of AARON MINT.
DONTRATTLEHISCAGE – Raced fiercely during the middle stages of the event despite the driver’s efforts. RACE 9 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1660 metres

CELEBRITY CRUISE – ($5.00) Trainer/driver Jake Davis was queried into the tactics adopted upon the mare in particular his decision to direct CELEBRITY CRUISE from a favourable one-one position to three (3) back along the marker line passing the 1700m resulting in CELEBRITY CRUISE being held up until passing the 300m and directed wider on the track to finish in 3rd position beaten 11m from the winner and 2.2m from 2nd position. Mr Davis explained CELEBRITY CRUISE had to endue more work than expected during the early stages of the event to obtain the position outside the leader prior to receiving cover when MOHAWK PARK improve forward a short distance latter. Mr Davis explained he was of the belief MOHAWK PARK was not a suitable runner to follow in the event after it had endued more amount of work during the early stages of the event & felt that runner would be placed under pressure a significant distance from the finish and he would be required to improve sooner than expected as CELEBRITY CRUISE only has a limited sprint therefore when the position three (3) pegs became available he felt it would be beneficial for CELEBRITY CRUISE as he felt MILLIONDOLLAR KISS (leader) and LOOKOUT NZ (behind the leader) were suitable runners to follow and he would have sufficient time to shift wider with runners tiring. Mr Davis added when LOOKOUT NZ was placed under pressure passing the 500m CELEBRITY CRUISE was initially held up however was able to shift away from the marker line passing the 400m & be directed wider on the track passing the 300m and given its full opportunity to finish in its best possible position. After viewing the available replays and the comments of Mr Davis Stewards advised Mr Davis that he erred significantly with his tactics when directing to the marker line position such a distance from the finish which resulted on him having limited options compared to the remaining in the running line. Mr Davis was advised his expected to show greater judgement going forward.
CAPTAIN LLANFAIR – Broke its nearside carrying strap during the event.
SHEZ A WARRIOR – Began badly as the start was effected. A warning issued against the barrier manners of SHEZ A WARRIOR.
IRK MCGLURK – Pre-race swab.
CHANSU – Broke gait clear of interference approaching the 1400m. CHANSU will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.
