RACE 1 – COUTTS LAWYERS & CONVEYANCERS PACE – 1609 metres

SOHO GUNSLINGER – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

ISTHISJUSTFANTASY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

DANCE WITH CARMER – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1100 metres.

DOUBLE FEAR – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

 

RACE 2 – TAB TANYIA HARRIS OAM LADY DRIVERS INVITATIONAL – 1609 metres

OAKIE SMOKESHOW – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested.

LAYDEN – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

SWEET STRIKE – Unable to secure clear running until shifting in and obtaining a run to the inside of COLOSSAL HOPE leaving the 100 metres.

COLOSSAL HOPE – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ – Inclined to over race during the early and middle stages.  Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 100 metres at which point the gelding was shifted wider.

FE FE ON FIRE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

 

RACE 3 – CARLTON DRY PACE – 1609 metres

MASTER CATCH – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Approaching the 100 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued.

RIPP – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

PINSEEKER NZ – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward.  Gave ground over the final 200 metres.

HI MANAMEISJEFF NZ – Inclined to over race during the score up and broke gait as the start was affected.  A warning was issued. 

CHASE A DREAM NZ – Out of position at the start.  Driver J Coney was fined the sum of $100 under rule 162(1)(h).  When questioned regarding the tactics employed on CHASE A DREAM NZ J Coney explained that it was the intention of connections to have the gelding restrained at the start and to be driven for run in order to use the geldings speed.  J Coney added that approaching the 1400 metres he was hoping he would be able to obtain a favourable position in the running line when it appeared MASTER CATCH may shift in and race on the marker pegs. However, when this did not occur, he was obliged to restrain CHASE A DREAM NZ to the rear of the field.  He said that he gave some thought to improving along the marker pegs but was concerned with the quality of the runners that were already racing along the marker pegs and he was also mindful of the fact that his runner was a favoured runner and didn’t want to be hampered. J Coney stated that leaving the 600 metres he attempted to get BAINBRIDGE to improve three wide however this did not occur until approaching the 300 metres at which point he immediately shifted CHASE A DREAM NZ wider to utilise its speed over the concluding stages.  J Coney said that given the tempo and circumstances of the race he was pleased with how CHASE A DREAM NZ finished the race off.  J Coney’s explanation was noted.

 

RACE 4 – YABBY DAM FARMS NSW TROTTERS OAKS (GROUP 1) – 2300 metres

ALDEBARAN ADA – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres at which point the filly was shifted wider.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

CEE CEE IN PARIS – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested.

ADELAIDE RED – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

JILLIBY AURA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

IJUSTCANTSEEIT – Leaving the 2100 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued.  The filly then broke gait on a second occasion near the 200 metres.  A further warning was issued. 

ALDEBARAN JAZMINE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested.

HALLEBESOFINE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

ELLE PERFECTO – Improved three wide in the middle stages and crossed to the lead near the 1000 metres.

GLADIATRIX – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

 

RACE 5 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP – STATE FINAL (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2300 metres

THALASSOPHOBIA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

SEASIDER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Driver A Turnbull was cautioned for the frequency in which she applied her whip to SEASIDER over the final 200 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

WALTER WARLOCK – Improved three wide in the middle stages before crossing to the position outside of the leader passing the 1500 metres.  Gave ground over the final 500 metres.

LITTLE DEMON – Gave ground over the final 400 metres.

TUKAHA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

OUTSIDE FIGHTER – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding having its 225th race start.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Inclined to over race during the middle stages of the event and approaching the 600 metres contacted the off side sulky wheel of TIGER PRINCE.

BETTING RANGER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

IMA BOXA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Improved three wide in the middle stages before crossing to the lead near the 1400 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

TIGER PRINCE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Approaching the 600 metres received a contact to the offside sulky wheel resulting in the sulky sustaining a flat tyre.

 

RACE 6 – JOHN GIBSON MEMORIAL NSW OAKS (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres

SENSES – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

ALWAYSBJOY NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Hung out after the start and shortly after struck the near side wheel of WILLOWS GIRL when that runner hung in.  Subsequently ALWAYSBJOY NZ was hampered and raced roughly.

WILLOWS GIRL – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Shortly after the start laid in away from BEACHBABE CROCKER and despite the efforts of its driver continued to lay in resulting in contact to the off hind leg of ALWAYSBJOY NZ.  A warning was placed on WILLOWS GIRL.

BEACHBABE CROCKER – Shortly after the start shifted in marginally which caused WILLOWS GIRL to lay in away from BEACHBABE CROCKER.

ARRHYTHMIA – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

RIPPLES NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

SPARKLING SEA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

ARK SEA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

 

RACE 7 – SLINGSBY HOLDINGS MACARTHUR MILE (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres

RAKERO BLAZE NZ- Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Broke gait during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position at the start.  Connections were advised that RAKERO BLAZE NZ would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

JILLIBY DREAMLOVER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

JILLIBY BALLERINI – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Failed to run on over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  When questioned regarding the performance of JILLIBY BALLERINI driver G Craven explained that with the benefit of hindsight, the recent travel encountered by the mare which included a trip to New Zealand then a return to home in Victoria before then travelling up to Sydney for tonight’s event may have proved to be detrimental.  He stated that it was his intention to take the mare home, assess how she pulled up in the days subsequent and freshen her up prior to a possible Queensland campaign.  G Craven’s explanation was noted.

MALIBUU – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

ALDEBARAN ACRUX USA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

ROCKINWITHATTITUDE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

 

RACE 8 – PRYDES EASIFEED QUEEN ELIZABETH II MILE (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres

CAPTAINS MISTRESS NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

LUX AETERNA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Passing the 500 metres was checked when TOKYO ROSE NZ hung in and subsequently LUX ATERNA locked wheels with that runner and lost significant ground.  LUX AETERNA was held up in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

EYE KEEP SMILING – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Approaching the 500 metres was hampered by TOKYO ROSE NZ and had to shift out and around that runner.

STENO – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

WICKED CONFESSION – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

GUNNA RELOAD – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Passing the 1200 metres shifted in when not clear of THE ANSWER resulting in that runner being tightened. W Rixon was issued with a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a(iii) for causing interference. Passing the 500 metres had to be checked abruptly away from LUX AETERNA resulting in GUNNA RELOAD racing inside the line of the marker pegs and losing valuable ground.

TOKYO ROSE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Inclined to hang in throughout the event despite the efforts of its driver.  Approaching the 500 metres hung in severely resulting in TOKYO ROSE NZ locking wheels with LUX AETERNA which caused that runner to be checked and in turn GUNNA RELOAD was severely checked and taken in across marker pegs.  THE ANSWER which was trailing was also checked and EYE KEEP SMILING was hampered.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  In view of its recent record and the level of intractability in tonight’s event, connections were advised that TOKYO ROSE NZ would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.

THE ANSWER – Leaving the 1200 metres placed in restricted room by GUNNA RELOAD which shifted in. Passing the 500 metres had to be steadied and checked away from TOKYO ROSE NZ which had engaged sulky wheels with LUX AETERNA.

 

RACE 9 – FRAN FITZPATRICK CHERYL MCDOWELL PINK BONNET (GROUP 3) – 1609 metres

SHES A DELANEY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

OUTTA THE ORDINARY – Inclined to over race during the middle stages.  Driver A Turnbull explained that after finding the position outside of the leader the filly failed to settle and when  being restrained the filly commenced to contact her own sulky wheels which then caused her to overrace.  Subsequently OUTTA THE ORDINARY gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 93 metres.  Trainer/driver A Turnbull was advised that OUTTA THE ORDINARY must complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.   A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

WALLABY WAY – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

 

RACE 10 – BLUE ILLUSION PACE – 1609 metres

BETTERTHANCASH NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

WHERES THE GOLD NZ – Passing the 800 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued.

SMOOTH BUZZ – Passing the 800 metres had to be steadied away from WHERES THE GOLD NZ which broke gait.

CASSIUS DECK – Passing the 800 metres had to be steadied off the back of SMOOTH BUZZ when that runner was hampered by WHERES THE GOLD NZ which broke gait.

GLITTER AINT GOLD – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

JAY OK – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. 

 

RACE 11 – MCGRATH FOUNDATION TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

SUNNY GEE – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines due to the gelding competing in its 212th race start.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

SPEEDY LOVER – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

IMPERIAL MONARCH NZ – Inclined to shift out over the final 250 metres.

JUNGLE EYES – Leaving the 400 metres had to be steadied when taken wider by WATTS UP PARTYTIME which broke gait.

WATTS UP PARTYTIME – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Leaving the 2000 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  The gelding then broke gait on a second occasion leaving the 400 metres.  Connections were advised that WATTS UP PARTYTIME would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial.

CONSTANTINOPLE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
