RACE 1 – WOODLANDS STUD STALLIONS – THE MARKET LEADER 2YO TROTTERS FOUNDATION HEAT 2 – 1609 metres
SUMTHIN DIFFERENT – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1000 metres.
ARETE VIRTUE – Became unbalanced and galloped after the start for which the filly was issued its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.
HILLDALE HILTON – Post-race swab sample.
CHIEF KENNY – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres. Hung in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD WARRAWEE NEEDY TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres
THEBESTBOURBON – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
SAN JUAN MOUNTAIN – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
MISTER BLINDSIDE – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1700 metres. Stewards questioned Driver L Cook in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 17.6 metres and finished in last position. Mr Cook explained it was his first drive on the gelding and explained the fast lead time (49.1 seconds) may have been detrimental to the geldings’ overall chances in the event. Mr Cook further explained the gelding hung in leaving the 600 metres however at that stage the gelding was placed under pressure.
VALTINO – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

RACE 3 –THE THRILL OF WINNING WITH APG PACE – 1609 metres
AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up for which the gelding will now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. The gelding chased the gate during the score up quite hard to catch the mobile and as a result failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 46 metres and finished in last position.
VESPA STRIDE – Post-race swab sample.
GET US A TINNY – Checked between the 700 metres and 450 metres behind the weakening AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS.
LILS NIGHTMARE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
MADAZALWAYS – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
WHAT FOR – Upon return to the race day stall the gelding collapsed and died. A post-race veterinary examination revealed blanched mucous membranes suggestive of an internal haemorrhage. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MICKEY BE NIMBLE – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.
RACE 4 – D M PLUMBING 3YO PACE – 1609 metres
SOHO PIASTRI – Hung out after the start for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
MARRANZANO – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare A Delosa as the driver by the prescribed time.
MEANT TO BE SLOY – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 35.7 metres and finished in last position.
KIKI MEISTER – Over raced throughout the event.
KING KASEY – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 5 – FARMER JOES OUTLET PACE – 1609 metres
FIRESTRIKE – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer L McCarthy was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
ULTIMATE WEAPON NZ – Trainer K Pizutto was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare V Duncan as the driver by the prescribed time.
RACE 6 – IRT HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 1609 metres
THERES WALLY – Checked and galloped approaching the first turn when BETTORLIGHTEM UP eased the pace in the running line when looking to obtain a position on the marker pegs.
HEAVENLY REASON – Checked shortly after entering the first turn when avoiding the galloping THERES WALLY.
BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Driver J Gallagher was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(u) for easing the pace in that when restraining BETTORLIGHTEM UP approaching the first turn from the running line to obtain a position on the marker pegs, he has done so in a manner which caused THERES WALLY to be checked and galloped. In not taking more severe action,. Stewards were mindful that THERES WALLY had been pacing towards the wheel of LOCHIEL NZ which had contributed to the incident.
PARTY CENTRAL NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer J Grimson awas fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres. Jumped a shadow passing the 350 metres and again passing the 200 metres for which the gelding was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. Driver C Hart advised Stewards after speaking with connections, a gear adjustment will be made prior to its next race start. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
INDASKY NZ – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – JWB CONCRETE PENRITH PACE – 1609 metres
CLEAR LEFT NZ – Pre-race blood sample. An inquiry was adjourned into the circumstances surrounding NICK OF TIME NZ appearing to be checked and paced roughly when racing to the outside of CLEAR LEFT NZ approaching the 200 metres. A time and date have not yet been set.
NICK OF TIME NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Checked and paced roughly approaching the 200 metres when racing to the outside of CLEAR LEFT NZ. An inquiry was adjourned into the circumstances of this incident. A date and time have not yet been set.
WESTERN STYLE – A delay to the all clear was required to allow Stewards to review the patrol vision in relation to WESTERN STYLE galloping over the final 50 metres and to ensure that the gelding had not gained or maintained ground whilst in a gallop. After reviewing the available replays, Stewards were satisfied that WESTERN STYLE had not maintained or gained ground to the detriment of any other runner and as a result all clear was given on the judges numbers of 8 – 5 – 2 – 7. In view of the racing manners of the gelding a warning was issued.
TITIAN RAIDER – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MYTH YOU ALREADY – Hung in under pressure in the home straight in the final occasion.
GREATGREAT BOULDER – Now be reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 8 – WARDS ACCOUNTNING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres
LUVARESCHS – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 50 metres.
SILVER PISTOL – Trainer L McCarthy was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare J Callaghan as the driver by the prescribed time.
CASH AND BLING – Post-race swab sample.
LENNETH – Pre-race blood sample.
RED REACTOR NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
ACTION MAJOR NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
