Sampling of licenced participants was conducted throughout the meeting. 


RACE 1 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

THREE PARTS GREY – Galloped out at the start and a warning was issued. Inconvenienced BO DUKE NZ which was trailing.

ROCKNROLL TONY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

SAPPHIRENDIAMONDS – Post-race sample.

BREXITT – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts and being 12 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

EYES BEEN PATIENT – Over-raced during the early stages when caught racing wide and being restrained to the rear of the field.

BO DUKE NZ – Pre-race sample. Inconvenienced after the start when trailing THREE PARTS GREY, which galloped.

 

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

POPS SECRET – Pre-race sample. Inconvenienced at the 1300m when trailing MISS ADONIS and ADDED VALUE when those runners’ locked wheels.

MISS ADONIS – Inconvenienced at the 1300m when trailing MISS ADONIS and ADDED VALUE when those runners’ locked wheels.

RECKLESS CONVICT – Locked wheels with ADDED VALUE at the 1300m. POPS SECRET and MISS ADONIS were inconvenienced when the paced eased.

ADDED VALUE – Locked wheels with RECKLESS CONVICT at the 1300m. POPS SECRET and MISS ADONIS were inconvenienced when the paced eased.

CAROLSDIAMOND – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

ROOBEE – Post-race sample. Driver B Elder was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for shifting ground upon entering the home straight on the final occasion which inconvenienced RECKLESS CONVICT momentarily.

 

RACE 3 – SKYFALL STANDARDBREDS 3YO MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

SPELL CHECK – Tightened racing into the first turn when MY MCLAREN hung inwards. Galloped a short time later when racing in close proximity to a marker peg.

MY MCLAREN – Hung in after start tightening the racing room of SPELL CHECK. A warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding.

LETS FLY WITH ME – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 4 – SLICK CHICKS 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

The start of this race was delayed due to Pakenham Gallops Race 7 running behind schedule.

MAKEAWISH – Pre-race sample. Hung out when racing along the marker pegs for the majority of the event. A warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding.

UNJUST ENRICHMENT – Trainer R Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for the late driving notification of D Murphy as the driver of the colt. Post-race sample.

RIVER WISH – Out of position at the start and a warning was issued. Over-raced at the 1000m and contacted the near-side sulky wheel of MAIN BEACH. Shortly after galloped and trailed the field for the remainder. A warning was issued against the racing manners of RIVER WISH.

 

RACE 5 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDRENS HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

LETSGETROWDY – Hung out against the efforts of the Driver B Hughes upon entering the home straight on the final occasion after leading. Allowed an inside run for GIRLSGOTCURLS.

GIRLSGOTCURLS – Post-race sample. Out of position at the start and a warning was issued. Obtained an inside run along the marker pegs over the concluding stages when LETSGETROWDY shifted out.

BLACKMIRRA – Driver G Panella was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for directing her drive inwards at the 300m when insufficiently clear of SMOOTH ROLLING.

SMOOTH ROLLING – Inconvenienced at the 300m when BLACKMIRRA shifted inwards. Tired to be beaten 62m and a warning was issued.

UNIT FORTY ONE – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

XTRAVAGANT MAN – Post-race sample.

KERVONBEL – Tired to be beaten 55m and a warning was issued.

TENNESSEE KID – Re-included back in the mobile barrier draw.

SUMMER SCHOOL – Galloped after the start and a warning was issued. Galloped clear of interference at the 500m. In assessing the previous racing record of the mare connections were advised that SUMMER SCHOOL would be stood down for a period of 28 days and until the satisfactory clearance of two trials. In issuing the stand down period of 28 days the panel was mindful that it was the intention of connection to spell the mare following today’s event.

HOGES MEMORIES – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due not having started in a race since July 2023 and also being 13 years of age. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Over-raced during the early stages of the event. Driver G Spencer explained that it was not the intention to improved three-wide during the middle stages however added that due to the racing manners of the gelding he elected to direct HOGES MEMORIES three wide. A warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding.

 

RACE 7 – HUNTER SIGNS PACE – 1609 metres

SIR KNIGHT – Inconvenienced in the home straight on the final occasion due to LOUIGI shifting wider under pressure. Hung in under pressure approaching the finish line.

CHLOBRO – Inconvenienced in the home straight on the final occasion when GLENN FORD NZ was directed wider on the track.

WILLS WAY – Pre-race sample.

GLENN FORD NZ – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Driver V Duncan was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for directing his drive wider over the concluding stages when insufficiently clear of CHLOBRO.

LOUIGI – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Driver D Spencer was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for directing his drive wider over the concluding stages when insufficiently clear of SIR KNIGHT.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

Prior to All Clear co-trainer Mr D McDowell requested to view the photo finish image between First placing (ULTIMATE RHAPSODY) and Second placing (TIME TO DANCE). Following this inspection Mr McDowell requested a review of the Judges numbers 7-5-3-1. Upon review it was established that initially the Judges had found a nose margin for the winner ULTIMATE RHAPSODY. However, upon further evidence from the Judges, Mr McDowell and a further review of the official photo finish image, the panel were not satisfied a margin existed between the nostril of ULTIMATE RHAPSODY and TIME TO DANCE. Therefore, acting under Rule 49(5)(b) the placings were amended to a Dead Heat for first placing between TIME TO DANCE and ULTIMATE RHAPSODY. Subsequently the All Clear was given on the revised placings.

HONOLULU PRINCESS – Driver G McElhinney was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have his drive in position in the score up and at the start.

ULTIMATE RHAPSODY – Post-race sample.

ZEN MASTER – Held up for clear racing room in the final stages of the home straight and unable to be fully tested close to the finish line.

AVENGER NZ – Held up for clear racing room in the final stages of the home straight and unable to be fully tested close to the finish line.
