CANT HEAR YOU – Tightened & severely checked passing the finish line when BARWEN STROM hung inwards. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
SHEZ BETTORS BABE – ($4.00) Pre-race swab. Driver Blake Jones was queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 9th and last position beaten 11.3m after racing in a favourable one-one position throughout the event. Mr Jones advised he was satisfied with the performance as the mare appeared to be left flat footed in a 57.5 final half.
BARWEN STROM – Driver Mikayla Towers was issued a reprimand under AHR Rule 168(1)(a) for carelessly allowing the gelding shift in marginally prior to the finish line which tightened the racing room of CANT HEAR YOU & checking that runner after the finish line. In not taking more action Stewards were mindful of the minimal movement and multiple runners funnelling together in a restricted area.
ARKLOW – Pre-race swab.
GLAMOURS SYMBOL – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having attained the age of 12 years or older & started in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.
OUR ULTIMATE BONNY – Post-race swab.
RACE 3– MICK & ALICE MULLINS MEMORIAL – 1740 metres
General: The start of this event was aborted in the early stages of the score up when the starter’s view was obstructed & was unable to determine if AROMET GIRL & LIT THE WICK were affected by each other or other runners when jibbing in the score up.
This event was subsequently shown on SKY Racing 2..
AROMET GIRL – Fractious leaving the pre-race circle and jibbed of its own accored. AROMET GIRL will now be placed on its last chance in the draw.
FOREVER ON THE PUNT – Post-race swab.

RACE 5 – IAN WALSH MEMORIAL 2YO – 1740 metres
MY EVENT HORIZON – Trainer James Rattray was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 268A(1) for presenting the filly in gear which was not correctly declared. Yielded ground from the 400m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 48.4m after leading. Mr Rattray advised the filly had come to end of its campaign as the filly over raced throughout the event & was overwhelmed by the occasion when having its first official start. Mr Rattray advised MY EVENT HORIZON will now be spelled. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
CAPTAINS BANDIT – Trainer Brad Hewitt was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 210 for the late declaration of the driver upon the colt. Hung inwards and raced roughly passing the 700m. Post-race swab.

BARTLEBEE – Inconvenienced passing the 400m when MY EVENT HORIZON was yielding ground. BARTLEBEE raced roughly momentarily.
ELECTRICUTE – ($1.50 Fav) Trainer David Hewitt was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 268A(1) for presenting the colt in gear which was not correctly declared. Driver Harrison Ross was queried into the tactics adopted upon the colt in particular if he gave consideration to improve three (3) wide from his one out four back position in the running line approaching the 800m after the speed of the event up until than had only been a moderate with the first half recorded in 60.1 seconds. Mr Ross advised he was instructed by the trainer to drive ELECTRICUTE for one run as the stable were of the view the colt had not been finishing off its races when driven in a forward manner in recent starts & the stable were confident ELECTRICUTE would be able to sustain a strong sprint if able to be held up for one run. Mr Ross explained ELECTRICUTE was inconvenienced passing the 700m when CAPTAINS BANDIT raced roughly which checked SHES A SWINGA which ELECTRICUTE was trailing behind. Mr Ross added he was of the belief that runners in advance of him in the running line were always going to progress forward of him & his best option was to maintain his position & trail up behind SHES A SWINGA passing the 600m however when this runner failed to bring him into the race as anticipated he had to direct ELECTRICUTE four (4) wide sooner than expected approaching the 400m where the colt was pushed even wider on the track when multiple runners manoeuvred wider underneath him. After viewing the replays & the comments of Mr Ross Stewards felt Mr Ross had erred in his tactics in not attempting to improve sooner than he did in particular as the speed of the event did not increase till passing the 400m with the third quarter only recorded in 29.9 seconds. Stewards advised Mr Ross they would expect to see ELECTRICUTE driven in similar manner going forward now the that the stable have indicated the colt has not been finishing off in the desired manner when driven forward during the early or middle stages of the event.
