RACE 1 – TRUCK & FLEET MAINTENANCE PACE – 1609 metres

ROCKNROLL ROCKET – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to shift ground up the track whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.

BLING THE KASH – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance, Driver L Osborn explained to Stewards that after finding the position outside the leader, commenced to over race and with a runner presenting 3 wide only aggravated her runner wanting to over race further and as a result was somewhat disappointing when asked for an effort over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

JETASI NZ – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, Driver K Bigeni explained it was the intention to drive forward in the event into a position without cover. He further added that shortly after the start was effected he was left racing wide rounding the first turn and looked to move forward gradually until entering the home straight where he continued on with a challenge for a position outside the leader however was unsuccessful in doing so and when leaving the home straight ceased on that challenge however given the distance remaining elected to remain 3 wide. JETASI NZ raced on quite well given the run afforded in his opinion. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. Driver K Bigeni was advised in situations moving forward that the challenge in the opinion of Stewards continued for too great a distance given that the runner racing outside the leader was over racing.

CHEVRON FLIES NZ – Driver S Grima was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up unto position prior to the start being effected. Post-race swab sample.

HES MY REASON – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

STAY FOOLISH – Held p for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish before inside running.

 

Trainer/Driver G Panella was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 231(2) for misconduct by was of use of foul language in the Stewards Room. When considering penalty stewards took into account her plea of guilt, record in relation to her conduct and remorse shown.

 

RACE 2 – TOOJETS PACE – 2030 metres

DEECEE ROCKIN – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

CLASSIC ANGELINA – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and the overall performance, Driver S Grima explained to Stewards that since joining the stable had worked up well and trialled on two occasions prior to the run and expected a forward showing and wanted to be forward in the event. He further added that after showing speed to find the lead position was shortly thereafter presented with a challenge from KASBAH to its outside which then commenced to over race as the field raced into the back straight on the first occasion and given the tempo of the event elected to relinquish the lead position. He further added over the concluding stages was slightly disappointed in its efforts however would expect improvement going forward. Trainer/Driver S Grima further went on to explain that given that if circumstances were presented similar, would continue to drive in a forward manner. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

KASBAH – When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Daskalovski explained it was the intention of connections to be driven forward in the event however after showing speed in the early stages of the event commenced to over race severely moving its way to the lead position to which it continued to race aggressively and despite the best efforts of its driver raced in the early sectionals in quicker time than wanted. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

MAJOR MICKEY – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 3 – GREG BROWN MEMORIAL – 1609 metres

IRON MIKE TYSON NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to race roughly at various stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS – Post-race swab sample.

LOCHINVAR JAG – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

RACE 4 – SKYFALL STANDARDBREDS PACE – 1609 metres

ROCKTAGONAL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

COOL NIGHT – Post-race swab sample.

BETTER ECLIPSE – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 5 – PSC INSURANCE BROKERS 3YO NSW BRED PACE – 1609 metres

LINE OF COURAGE – Had a tendency to hang out shortly after the start was effected hampering the racing room of WICKED WHISKEY and in turn LEWIE KELLY where as a result SILENT FEARS was checked and raced roughly shortly after the start was effected. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

WICKED WHISKEY – Hampered shortly after the start. Driver N Xuereb was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages he employed an action which engaged the shoulder.

LEWIE KELLY – Hampered shortly after the start was effected.

SILENT FEARS – Checked after the start was effected and raced roughly for a short distance. Post-race swab sample.

BLAZING HIGH – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 6 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Hampered as the filed negotiated the final turn.

WAR WESTERN – Pre-race blood sample.

ULTRA BLISS – Checked and raced roughly shortly prior to entering the home straight for the run to the finish.

RICK REILLY NZ – Driver S Grima was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn allowed his runner to close down the track which restricted the racing room of ULTRA BLISS which was checked and raced roughly for a short distance.

MISTER CHEESE – Post-race swab sample.

KEILOR BABY SHARK – Hampered prior to the field entering the home straight for the run to the finish.

SINBINNED – Driver D Murphy was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn attempted to manoeuvre his runner wider and engaged with a jostle with AWHOLELOTOFPRETTY (C McElhinney) which in turn hampered the running of KEILOR BABY SHARK.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH - Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 7 – BONVILLA ESTATE WINES SUPER MAIDEN – 1609 metres

MIKI BE FREE – Pre-race blood sample.

BLUE COLLAR BOY – Checked as the field negotiated the first turn then commenced to over race as the field raced down the home straight on the first occasion.

SIERRA MIST – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

MAJOR AUSTIN – Post-race swab sample.

WOOPAA – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn when being manoeuvred into a running line position.

ILUVMYSELF – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn free of interference. Connections were advised it would be stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial given its limited experience.

 

RACE 8 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 2030 metres

GRACE SHANNON – Had a tendency to race roughly shortly after the start was effected.

D J ROCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SAINT KARAMARA – had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
