BOLANALONG – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

WARIEDA BOY – Over raced during the middle stages of the event.

STAY ALPHA – Gave ground over the concluding stages. Driver E Lepper was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding. He stated he was not overly disappointed with the run given the gelding was up in grade and over the longer distance today. He added they got caught racing three wide from the start when beaten for speed by the runners drawn to their inside and had to work harder than he would have liked to obtain a forward position. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

DANCINGONSTARLIGHT – Pre-race swab sampled.

KEAYANG DOMINO – Trainer R Blythe was queried regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. He stated the gelding was 3rd up today from a lengthy spell and had been working well recently and as such he was reasonably confident of a forward showing today. He added he instructed the driver to go forward as the gelding hadn’t been finishing its races off well when driven from back in the field. He further added the gelding went forward and was able to get a nice trail in the early stages and finished the race off well as he expected from that position. Post-race swab sampled.

RACE 3 – MEADOWIE LODGE PACE – 2270 metres

ROCK THE NATION NZ – Over raced during the middle stages of the event. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

TUFFASOLDBOOTS – Commenced to lose ground from the main body of the field near the 600 metres and was beaten by a considerable margin. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering atrial fibrillation. Connections were advised that it would be stood down from racing for 14 days, that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness, which would need to include the results of an ECG and it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial prior to resuming racing.

HES A TERROR – Examined by the club veterinarian pre and post-race as it has had over 200 race starts and was cleared of any significant abnormalities. Inconvenienced leaving the 600 metres behind the tiring TUFFASOLDBOOTS.

THE TRAWLER – Pre-race swab sampled. Gave ground over the concluding stages of the event. Driver P McRae, when questioned regarding the below market expectations performance of the gelding, stated they had to work harder when caught racing three wide early in the race than he would have liked to get a forward position as instructed by connections while the pace was fairly quick. He further added that other than the gelding struggling to negotiate the turns it travelled okay until its run peaked near the 300 metres, but given the early work and the time run in the race he wasn’t disappointed with the run.

COVERED IN GOLD – Post-race swab sampled.

IMON NZ – Inconvenienced near the 100 metres when SNIPERS FIRE was taken wider by GINGER ELLA.

SNIPERS FIRE – Taken wider near the 100 metres when GINGER ELLA shifted out.
