RACE 1 – MEMBERS NIGHT 11TH SEPTEMBER PACE – 1609 metres

COTE DAZUR NZ – Examined pre-race by the veterinarian and passed fit to take its place in the event.

VINTAGE EDITION – Driver K Langelaar was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to be in position prior to the start being affected.

PET KITTY – Pre-race sample was taken.

D J ROCK NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

RADIANT AMBER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Pre-race sample was taken. 

MANHATTEN CHICK – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 3 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

HAPPY TOO YA – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 4 – SKYFALL STANDARDBREDS PACE – 1609 metres

STITCHED UP DAN – Contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn and was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

ACTION MAJOR NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

MAJOR ART NZ – When questioned regarding the performance driver J Gallagher explained that travelled fairly throughout the run and had a tendency to touch its knee rounding the final turn and raced somewhat roughly and was disappointing over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be lame in the near side fore leg.  Acting on veterinary advice was stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness.

THE CID – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

ROCKTAGONAL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 5 – PSC INSURANCE BROKERS 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

BANDLEADER – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.  Post-race sample was taken.

KISS BEFORE TWELVE – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected.  A warning was issued.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

MCWEAPON – Tightened for racing room in the early stages of the home straight for the run to the finish.

DELANEY NZ – Fractious in the early stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 6 – THE TAB APP SUPER MAIDEN – 1609 metres

ULTIMATE SHOWGIRL – Had a tendency to hang in rounding the final turn and whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.  Trainer/driver M Formosa explained to Stewards that ULTIMATE SHOWGIRL will now be spelled.

SOFT LANDING – Pre-race sample was taken. 

EAGLEYE – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – GARRARD HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

VALORIX – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to race roughly rounding the first turn when placed in restricted room with ZAYNES TIGER hanging down the track slightly.  Checked prior to entering the home straight on the first occasion.  Leaving the back straight on the final occasion had a tendency to hang in and contacted the sulky of MADAZALWAYS which hung out slightly which resulted in VALORIX breaking stride.  Connections were advised a warning would be issued. 

ZAYNES TIGER – Hung in as the field entered the first turn and restricted the racing room of VALORIX and shortly thereafter broke stride and galloped excessively.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near side fore tendon.  Acting on veterinary advice connections were advised that it would be stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness, stood down from racing for a period of 28 days and until the completion of one requalifying trial.

GOODTIME MIKI – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.  Post-race sample was taken.

CHLOBRO – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver A Garaty explained that after beginning well it was left racing three wide rounding the first turn and was moving forward in an attempt to find the position outside of the leader however GOODTIME MIKI mustered through and maintained that position in the early stages of the home straight on the first occasion.  He further added that as GOODTIME MIKI was restrained again looked to move forward however that runner commenced to over race which left him racing wide for the remainder of the event.  Stewards noted his comments.  Driver A Garaty was further reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn shifted down the track marginally and restricted the racing room of LACHIES IDEAL which was inconvenienced and raced roughly for a short distance. 

MADAZALWAYS – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Sustained a contact to the off side wheel as the field left the back straight on the final occasion.

 

RACE 8 – GLENN AND BILL TOMLIN MEMORIAL HEAT 1 – 2030 metres

ROCKNROLL CLARRY – Pre-race sample was taken.

KARAOKE KING – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 9 – GLENN AND BILL TOMLIN MEMORIAL HEAT 2 – 2030 metres

YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Post-race sample was taken.

DEECEE ROCKIN – Pre-race sample was taken.  Commenced to over race in the early stages of the event and was obliged to move forward when racing three wide to the lead position and continued to race fiercely throughout the middle stages of the event ahead of the main body of the field and when passing the 500 metres commenced to weaken to be beaten a considerable distance.  Connections were advised that given its tractability and overall performance it would be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

A LITTLE DILEMMA – When questioned regarding the performance driver B Hughes explained to Stewards that when rounding the final turn was confident in his position however over the concluding stages weakened to be beaten a considerable distance.  Driver  Hughes further went on to explain that is may not be suited to the longer journey.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

UPSTREAM – Driver V Duncan was fined the sum of $100 under rule 163(1)(c)(i) in that prior to entering the home straight attempted a run to the inside of A LITTLE DELIMMA without the required room and raced inside the line of one marker peg.

SAINT KARAMAR – Driver J Coney was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when shifting ground up the track in the early stages of the run home hampered the running of WHENS LUNCH.

 

RACE 10 – GLENN AND BILL TOMLIN MEMORIAL HEAT 3 – 2030 metres

BETTATHANMOZARELLA – Pre-race sample was taken.

CHOGI NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

MISTER BRILLANTE – Examined pre-race by the veterinarian and passed fit to take its place in the event.

LAURIE DEE – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
