RACE 1 – ULE HOOF OIL PACE – 2300 metres

MAGIC JOE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 1600 metres.

SOUTH SEAS ROCK NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 1600 metres.

DANCE WITH CARMER – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres.

QUIET STORM – Post-race swab sample.

NO NOTTHEBUTTONS – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1600 metres.  Stewards questioned driver Seaton Grima with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in ninth placing beaten 18 metres.  Mr Grima advised Stewards he was very disappointed with the performance of the gelding this evening despite having to do a little bit of work in the early stages. Mr Grima further advised that he expected the performance to be way better this evening particularly after being able to run a 31.2 first quarter and that as a result the gelding will now go for a freshen up and likely spend the next 10-14 days in the paddock.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grima Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

VAN BASTEN – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RACE 3 – CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH FINAL – 1609 metres

ROCKNROLL ROCKET – Pre-race blood sample. 

MISTER BRILLANTE – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding had raced at Newcastle the night prior.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Driver Cameron Hart was asked to exercise greater care when shifting ground, in that passing the 100 metres he permitted his runner to shift wider on the track which momentarily placed PUKUNUI BEACH NZ in restricted room.

PENURIOUS – Post-race swab sample.

PUKUNUI BEACH NZ – Placed in restricted room passing the 100 metres when MISTER BRILLANTE was shifted wider on the track.

HE SAID SHE SAID – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event and over raced before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1000 metres.  Checked and raced roughly passing the 250 metres when MAYWYNS MIGHTY MAC was shifted wider on the track placing HE SAID SHE SAID in restricted room.

MAYWYNS MIGHT MAC – Pre-race blood sample.  Driver Brad Elder was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that passing the 250 metres he permitted his runner to shift wider on the track when not sufficiently clear of HE SAID SHE SAID causing that runner to be placed in restricted room checked and race roughly.

RACE 4 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 2300 metres

SAINT CRUSADER – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

CHANGE TACT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

VITE MONET – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

EL CHEMA NZ – Driver Will Rixon advised Stewards post the completion of the event that his left leg became entangled in the deafener cord over the final 200 metres of the event.

ROCKNROLL HAMMER NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

DOUBLE FEAR – Pre-race blood sample. 

RACE 5 – HARNESS THE EXCITEMENT WITH APG PACE – 1609 metres

JORGE STREET – Pre-race blood sample. 

CAPTAINS KNOCK – Post-race swab sample.

RAKERO ROCKET NZ – Trainer Jason Grimson was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the gelding.  Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1300 metres.  Stewards questioned driver Cameron Hart with regards to the performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in eighth placing beaten 22 metres.  Mr Hart advised Stewards that he was disappointed in the performance of the gelding who he was confident would perform well this evening after having trialled nicely in preparation for tonight's event.  Mr Hart further advised that the gelding travelled well through the run however failed to quicken when asked from the 400 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Hart, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE RANJI BILL STAKES (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres

EYE KEEP SMILING – Pre-race blood sample.   Trainer Luke McCarthy was fined $100 under Rule 210 for failing the late notification of Jack Callaghan as the driver of the mare.

LUX AETERNA – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.  An inquiry into the whip action displayed by driver Rickie Alchin was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

RACE 7 – TAB 3YO STAKES – 1609 metres

ALERT BAY – Pre-race blood sample. 

LOUCASSO – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

RACE 8 – SUCCESS STUD PACE – 1609 metres

THE METAL FLYER – Pre-race blood sample.

BARTELLO – Pre-race blood sample.  Trainer Grant Ellul was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Jason Grimson as the driver of the gelding.

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.  Post-race swab sample.
