RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1700 metres
RICCARDO SHANNON – Approaching the 1400 metres was checked and broke when trailing CHARLOTTES DIAMOND who had broken stride.
THINK IT BLING – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the mare had not raced since January 2025. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Broke stride shortly after the start and veering out severely towards the outside fence causing interference to several runners to its outside. Considering the mare’s barrier manners, it will now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
MADDIE – Severely checked and broke shortly after the start when locking wheels with SHADY TREE because of THINK IT BLING veering out. The filly took no competitive part in the race.
CHARLOTTES DIAMOND – Approaching the 1400 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. Furthermore, the mare then broke stride again at the 1100 metres. Considering the mares recent record, it will be stood down for period of 14 days and must requalify on two occasions.
TENACITY RED – Approaching the 1400 metres was checked when shifting to the inside of CHARLOTTES DIAMOND who had broke stride.
NAVIE JO – Inconvenienced shortly after the start because of THINK IT BLING veering out.
SPLASH ATTAQUE – Approaching the 1400 metres was checked when CHARLOTTES DIAMOND broke stride.
GRANT FOR LEXY – Checked after the start because of THINK IT BLING veering out.
JUDAH – Checked after the start because of THINK IT BLING veering out. Post-race sample.
SHADY TREE – Pre-race blood. Checked and broke shortly after the start when MADDIE also broke stride shifting out locking wheels.
RACE 2 – COWRA MOTORS PACE – 1700 metres
CELEBRITY CRUISE – Post-race sample.
TENEACHWAY – Pre-race blood.
GRINFARON – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding is 12 years of age. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Driver M Johnson was issued a reprimand under rule 170(1)(a) in that he has allowed his left foot to lower from the sulky rest around the 1500 metres for a short distance.
WHATABOUTBRONSON – Inconvenienced approaching the 1500 metres when HUDSON RIVER broke stride.
THE HANDSOME ONE – Inconvenienced approaching the 1500 metres when HUDSON RIVER broke stride.
LOOKOUT NZ – When negotiating the first turn raced rough for a short distance.
ORANGE FEVER – When negotiating the turn at the 1500 metres hung out slightly tightening the racing room of HUDSON RIVER who subsequently broke stride.
HUDSON RIVER – Approaching the 1500 metres was tightened when ORANGE FEVER hung out marginally and as a result the gelding was checked and broke stride.
BROOKLYN BANDIT – Inconvenienced approaching the 1500 metres when HUDSON RIVER broke stride.
RACE 3 – BEECHER WOOL SERVICES PACE – 2160 metres
GENERAL – As there was no photo finish available the judge in conjunction with Stewards viewed the race footage to confirm the judge’s numbers of 5, 2, 8 and 6.
MAJOR RECKONING – Entering the first turn broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent record, it will be placed on its last chance to race truly. Approaching the 300 metres was tightened when improving to run between CHASIN YOU and ROOBEE where there was limited room and then broke stride shortly after because of CHASIN YOU hanging out slightly under pressure. As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame no further action was taken.
CHASIN YOU – Leaving the 300 metres tended to hang out under pressure tightening MAJOR RECKONING who broke stride. As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame no further action was taken.
ROOBEE – Leaving the 300 metres was inconvenienced when MAJOR RECKONING improved to its inside and was tightened for racing room.

SERGEANT PEE JAY – Driver C Judd pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when approaching the 200 metres has shifted her runner wider when insufficiently clear of ULTIMATE COOKIE and as a result has locked wheels with that runner. Considering Mrs Judd’s record in relation to this rule, her guilty plea and the overall incident her licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days. This suspension is to commence at midnight Sunday, 13 September 2026.
ULTIMATE COOKIE – When negotiating the first turn was checked when trailing MAJOR RECKONING who had broke stride before shifting wider locking wheels with SPARTAN SHIELD and breaking stride. Approaching the 200 metres was checked when locking wheels with SARGEANT PEE JAY who had shifted wider when insufficiently clear.
SPARTAN SHIELD – When negotiating the first turn was severely checked when locking wheels with ULTIMATE COOKIE. Tended to race roughly over the final 500 metres and tired out of the event to be beaten a considerable distance. A warning was placed on the gelding’s record. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 4 – DUNK GROUP PACE – 1700 metres
HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up resulting in a false start. The gelding then broke stride on the second occasion and was also out of position tailing the field for the remainder of the event. The gelding will now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
ROCKET ME – Pre-race blood. Post-race sample.
STUDLEIGH STARLIGHT – An inquiry was adjourned into the reasons that RIVERINA FLASH was tightened when entering the first turn.
AVA LEANNE – Broke stride in the score up causing a false start. A warning was issued. An inquiry was adjourned into the reason that RIVERINA FLASH was tightened when entering the first turn to a date to be fixed.
DUSTY MUSTER – When negotiating the first turn was checked when locking wheels with RIVERINA FLASH who had been tightened and shifted down the track.
RIVERINA FLASH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. An inquiry was adjourned into the reason the gelding was tightened and locking wheels with DUSTY MUSTER when entering the first turn to a date to be fixed.
RACE 5 – KATS N DOGS LADYSHIP PACE – 1700 metres
DIAMOND BIKINI – Trainer D Rusten was questioned on the seemingly improved performance of the mare in today’s event. He stated she had gained considerable benefit from a recent spell and had trialled well leading into the event and considering the run afforded throughout the event being the reason for the performance. Post-race sample.
FEISTY TIGER – Leaving the 300 metres was checked when locking wheels with WINDY HILL LUCY. As there was minimal shift from both runners no further action was taken.
WILLIES DOLLAR – Post-race sample.
WINDY HILL LUCY – Approaching the 300 metres was checked when locking wheels with FEISTY TIGER. As there was minimal shift from both runners no further action was taken.
RACE 6 – J W FARRIER SERVICES 3YO PACE – 1700 metres
TAKE ME TOO – Approaching the 200 metres with the field racing away from the marker line has improved between LOIERO and WIT WICKEE where there was marginal room then when negotiating the turn into the home straight the field has shifted has shifted down the track marginally tightening TAKE ME TOO who eventually broke stride. As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame for this incident no further action was taken other than to advise driver C Formosa to ensure there is sufficient room when improving into runs.
MY IDEAL DREAM – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the filly has not raced since 26 December 2025. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Trainer/driver J Brown could give no reasonable explanation for the filly’s performance except it would derive benefit being first up for some time. A warning was placed on the filly’s record.
LOIERO – Pre-race blood. Approaching the 200 metres has shifted down the track marginally when TAKE ME TOO improved to the inside and as a result that runner was tightened and broke stride. As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame for this incident no further action was taken.
WIT WICKEE – Post-race sample.
RACE 7 – GARRY BIRRELL MEMORIAL – 2160 metres
TULHURST ELVIS – Driver B Medlyn stated he was disappointed in the gelding’s overall performance. He added there was circumstances with the racing surface being heaving contributing to the overall performance where the gelding tired to be beaten a considerable distance. TULHURST ELVIS will be given its last chance to race truly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
MAGIC MATTEO – Inconvenienced at the 1600 metres when trailing ZACHARY SHANNON who had broke stride. Driver M Rue stated that considering the heavy racing surface proving detrimental to the gelding’s overall performance combined with the longer distance of the race. The gelding will be given its last chance to race truly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
ZACHARY SHANNON – Approaching the 1600 metres broke stride. A warning was issued. Driver T Bullock was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(b) in that approaching the 700 metres has shifted his runner wider forcing KARINYA HAZ to race in a four wide position prior to the designated push out pole.
CHAMPAGNE WALSH – Post-race sample.
KARINYA HAZ – Pre-race blood. Forced to race in a four wide position at the 700 metres when ZACHARY SHANNON shifted wider.
WATCH CARINAS LASS – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
SPECIAL SPIN – At the request of connections the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
RACE 8 – RON PARK PACE – 1700 metres
MAKE MINE MERICAN – Entering the first turn was checked and broke when making contact to the sulky wheel of FAKISTRA who had shifted down when insufficiently clear. Leaving the 900 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
SMOOTH EURO – Post-race sample.
FAKISTRA – Driver I Ross pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn has shifted her runner down when insufficiently clear of MAKE MINE MERICAN who made contact to the inside sulky wheel and broke stride. Considering Miss Ross’s guilty plea, her record in relation to this rule her licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days this suspension is to commence at midnight on Sunday, 13 September 2026. As the inside tyre became fouled due to being contacted the gelding was retired from the event at the 300 metres.
SMOOTH CHAKRA – When negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
HAZZA IS WATCHING – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 72 metres. A warning was issued.
THE ROGUE I AM – Pre-race blood. When negotiating the first turn was inconvenienced as a result of MAKE MINE MERICAN being checked.
OUR DICKIE BART – When negotiating the first turn was inconvenienced because of MAKE MINE MERICAN being checked.
DRIVE TO THE BEACH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Hung in in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
RACE 9 – EBONY LODGE PACE – 1700 metres
SHE THE DEVIL – Post-race sample.
JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ – Pre-race blood.
FIRESTORM RED – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
